For figure skaters this is the first thing we learned...but balancing on 1/8 of an inch...and on a much more slippery surface

Great presentation, thanks, Alaina. For me, these are advanced techniques; for others, I'm sure doing backward flips would be advanced. I've gotten past forward crossovers but I'm still not confident skating backwards. These should help.

This isn't much different from figure skating is it? I'm going roller skating in two weeks (after AP testing) and I'm a figure skater so I was wondering if it's possible for me to transfer what I learned on the ice to a roller rink.

It is different but most things can be transferred. And figure skating is also done on roller as well as ice.

Kerry Ware Lol? You're criticising a video that says "pause the tape". I wouldn't be surprised if in those times the "rules" were more lax not to mention that she's probably in a skating rink. Her outfit is probably her uniform, the wheel colours didn't match because maybe she swapped put a worn out one Or even because it was the 90's and maybe it was an aesthetic choice who knows. When people try to be a smarty-pant and end up looking stupid :sigh:
