UTR 10.2 vs UTR 10.7 | Power vs Control!

I'd like to introduce two new players and to the channel, Anirudh (aka Goop Dog) and Luis! They both go to/went to University High School in Irvine, CA which is a top tennis high school in the nation. Hopefully Uni players will enjoy this one lol. Ani plays an aggressive baseline style while Luis is more of a counterpuncher with crafty drop shots and net play. They've known each other from school and have played once before which was a close match. Could they be new challengers for Hermont?!

perhaps overlooked is the quality Luis shows in the sixth game. That was a hard fought game, it just went Anrudh's way, but Luis shows he a good return game when he's feeling it - lots of spin, and he got some lasers in on the line.

New subscirber here. Liked the way you asked about their tennis backgrounds. It's interesting to know who has been coached, where, whether they played hs or colllege, on and on. Good channel, recently got back into tennis after decades off (53 yr old here). HS player (boarding school in CT) went to Harry Hopmans in FL 2x as a kid which helped immensely. You should play UTR events and/or usta events. Also 8-10 utr is a HUGE range.

I actually think Luis' technique is sounder, or at least more aesthetically pleasing. His serve especially is real nice. But the footwork and the overall approach was super lazy, possibly influenced by the previous night's shenanigans. Goop Dog on the other hand isn't the most stylish player, but you can tell he is currently the much more match-ready of the two. Not crazy about that low backswing on the forehand, but you can't argue with results. The pop is there when he can get his feet set right, though I fear that he might struggle a bit with that motion when forced to defend against high-level competition.

Honestly Luis's serve cost him a lot of points. Luis had way too many unforced errors and his footwork wasn't ideal either today. Anirudh had an incredible serve and good forehand. Anirudh was very fast to all of the balls- nothing was going to get past him.
