Vaush, when shooting a rifle for the first few hundred rounds, I really don't recommend using steel case ammo; it's not great for the action of the rifle. Unless it's steel ammo with a brass coat, it's going to have issues with feeding. Brass is by far better when breaking in a gun. I tried steel ammo for the first time with my most recent AR, and the steel case jammed, and I had to get it out at home.

ARs can be finiky with steel due to the timing of the gas system and the greater rigidity of steel (slower expansion/slower contraction). Depending on the rifle steel cased will work just fine, the chamber will just get dirtier a little faster. Military Arms Channel (shit politics, good firearms knowledge) has an old but good video on the myths surrounding shooting steel in general and in ARs in particular.

I own a P320 as well. You can put a red dot optic on the AXG model. Holosun and Trijicon are the best options, but Sig makes an optics that don’t require an Adapter plate. The beretta and Sig are both from the army trials, which means they’re both very adjustable.

Do yourself better and get a BM59; they are better and more accurate. The only issue with them is that the mags are rare when compared to an M1A pattern rifle.

M1As are cursed because the history of the M14 is such bullshit. There are way better options for a semi-auto in a full power rifle cartridge. Mini 14s are chill though. While aesthetically basically the same as a M1A (and still retaining the same stupid magazine system) the design philosophy is exactly the opposite; simple, reliable, durable and inexpensive.

@@Ass_of_Amalek BM59 is basically just a Garand in .308 with a detachable box magazine. M1A has a totally different gas system (which is partially why the M14 took so long to develop). The Mini-14 has a gas system that is different from either; basically a quasi DI system that impinges on an op rod rather than a bolt carrier.

@Brandon Ellis The Italians made them postwar with American receivers. They are more accurate than the M14 platform as well. You can also get a class 3 one for less than 20 grand too, so they are way cheaper than an M14 when full auto. A normal one should be in the 800-1200 dollar range.

They do, and the folding stock is simpler than an AR as well. The mini 14 IS slightly less accurate and had slightly slower reloads. But there's alot to be said for looking like a dorky hunter and shooting the same rounds as a larpy chud.

Luger mini 14 might have some reliability issues in dirty environment for items relatively exposed action, why not get an ar-15? It’s a more sealed gun from environment. In case you haven’t seen it, forgotten weapon has done some reliability test (mud) on respective variants of those rifle types. Also don’t let tankies and conservative attack you because of those guns. I bet chats are more heavy armed than vaush😂.

I own the SIG P250 (and SIG P22-series pistols, I prefer hammer-fired ones myself), and basically the same gun, one is striker fired and one is hammer fired, one has a shorter trigger pull one has the other. But yeah I think I'm going to get those grips you got hehe, love that rosewood.
