I always add a couple of stalks of celery to my green smoothie, I've read that the sodium offsets the potassium in the bananas. Also, sometimes instead of the banana I add about 1/4 of an avocado, it doesn't take much to really make it thick and creamy!

For those that are wondering if the vitamix is worth the investment: I've had mine for 17 years. That thing works like a little work horse. To be technically correct it has a 2 horsepower motor. Haaaa! no pun intended! That thing blends through everything I've added in it. Payed $375.00 for mine. Never looked back!

Hi there! I just got a high speed blender and am looking forward to making green smoothies! Confession: I do not like kale and was wondering what is the mildest so I can try to start off with that and also have seen alot of information about destemming and massaging kale prior to eating it. Do I need to do that for this smoothie, and will that help make kale more palatable for me? Thanks for all of your knowledgeable videos...I just love them!
@EatMoveRest4 жыл бұрын
You definitely dont need to massage the kale before blending, only in salads! You can mask the taste of it with frozen bananas, pineapple, and other sweet fruits! You can also start with spinach, as it is much milder!

Been a HUGE fan of your channel for years and I absolutely love this green smoothie . But I do have a question.... sooo many channels/bloggers contradict the other so it’s difficult to know what the correct answer is . I’d love to have this green juice mid morning but obviously can’t take my juicer to work . Can I blend in the morning and take to work to have for lunch? I’ve heard that if you don’t drink it immediately that the nutrients break down. I’ve also heard that the sugar content skyrockets! Can you elaborate on this please?

This is a green smoothie, just to clarify! That being said, it’s ideal to drink juice right away, but if you can’t, then store it in an air tight container in the fridge for later!

How many cups of fruit total are you putting in that smoothie that you are dividing into two-parts? I'm feeling like I eating too much fruit when I make these but I'm not sure how much fruit in one sitting one should have.
@EatMoveRest5 жыл бұрын
Sandy Weaver don’t worry about eating too much fruit! The sugar in fruit is far different from the sugar in refined carbs like baked goods and sweets. Fruit contains powerful phytonutrients and FIBER, which most American are deficient in! We are fueled by fruit and there is a common misconception that “fruit will make you fat” or that “carbs are the enemy,” but it’s definitely Not the case!☺️👌💚💚💚🍒
