Not in the anime, but during the moro arc when they ended up in new namek, vegeta had really hard time facing the namekians after what happened when he and frieza arrived all those years ago. I like how each Saga kind of shows how Vegeta grows as a person. From breaking free into his own person by rebelling against Freiza in the Namek Saga, then letting go of his frustration for his failure to become a Super Saiyan in the Cell Saga, and then making amends for his past wrong doings and accepting his past and ultimately moving on from who he once was in the Buu Saga. I’d say that Dragon Ball Z feels less about the martial arts and the journey of warriors and more about Vegeta’s personal growth. From his creation of personality, his letting go of frustration, and ultimately his own making right for what has haunted him his entire life of being a z-fighter; knowing that he has single handedly slaughtered billions of innocent beings without remorse, and has to live with knowing the metaphorical blood on his hands (y’know, cuz he just eviscerated them all), and having no way to clean up what he’s done -but instead only let it haunt him and torment him until he ultimately sacrifices himself for the greater good of those he truly cares about and loves.

I adore the little changes in the dialogue that make Vegeta appear more impressive compared to the Manga. With Babidi, it retains Vegeta's integrity as a character and as a warrior when in the dub, he says 'Now, allow me to RESTORE your power to the way it was before you began resisting your dark nature'. Whereas in the Manga it really does Vegeta dirty with Babidi saying 'I'll release his hidden powers and allow him to overcome his limits' essentially confirming in the manga that Vegeta was way behind Goku even at Ssj2 let alone Ssj3. I definitely prefer the Anime for those little changes in Vegeta's favour. Same as when Vegeta and Goku gear up to fight. I know Gohan was the ultimate measure of potential but good Lord, it's been 7 years. Is Toriyama really expecting me to believe Vegeta didn't surpass his Ssj2 in 7 years of training? That's why I love this dub. From 'Impressive, you're stronger than Gohan was when he fought Cell' to 'Well...at least you're stronger than your Son was against Cell.' I like that. It's subtle and it's dub exclusive but it puts a stamp on Vegeta exceeding Gohan who was the benchmark up to this point (before the craziness of Ssj3 and Mystic and Gotenks). Small, but appreciated.

The manga made it pretty clear that Vegeta was confident of beating Gohan in the tournament even before he found out exactly how much Gohan had weakened, implying that even before the Majin charm Vegeta was at least on the level of Gohan's Cell Games level, which would've been the benchmark Vegeta was going by.

Vegeta was weaker than SS2 Goku then. That was one of the main reasons he allowed himself to be controlled by Babidi after seeing what it could do to Spopovich. It compromising his integrity was the point. Vegeta sacrificed his pride and honor for the sake of his pride and honor. It’s that bit of contradiction that made his turn to evil for a bit compelling and makes his subsequent sacrifice even better since he had to reach rock bottom before it.

Sorry to dissapoint you, But I think that Majin Vegeta still probably could have won that fight against SSJ3, Goku won't keep that form for to long because he didn't had full control over that form yet, it drains way to much KI during that time when he fought him. Even if goku decided to use SSJ3 against him, he should have immediatly done any super attack to finish him off.. But the question is would that be enough to take out Majin Vegeta.

1:31 This moment is beyond amazing to me. To start it all off, Christopher Sabat's performance sells Vegeta perfectly, the strained voice, the denial, its literally perfect. The scene immediately after is even stronger in my eyes. Shin, who usually has a level head and knows what to do looking completely horrified as he just slowly backs away from Vegeta is just the icing on the cake. The low heartbeat in the back and the red lightning just make this scene feel like we're watching a monster being born.

I think that Vegeta was lying when he said he intentionally let Babidi take him over. It's clear that he was trying to fight off the mind control, but became more and more tempted by the prospects of his old life, traveling the galaxy and conquering planets with his blindly loyal subject Nappa by his side. He knew that he had a more peaceful life on Earth with a family and nobody ruling over him, but deep down he truly missed his old lifestyle where no other Saiyan was stronger than he was, and where entire planets bowed down to him out of respect for his sheer might. This caused a great conflict in Vegeta's head, causing him to lose more and more will to fight Babidi's attempts to control him and eventually just gave in.

I have always loved thought that Vegetas power was so strong that it went beyond the limits of babadis ship as well as the miles of earth that they were below. You see the shockwave and rocks lift from his scream alone. Even Goku admited his fear of his power. He knew he still had the power to beat Vegeta at that moment but was actually worried about what might happen. Almost like the difference of gohan fused buu versus kid buu. One was clearly stronger but the other was so wildly unhinged that he is ultimately the biggest threat in the room.
