At this point, I'd probably have more respect for Dababy or anyone else who says just outwardly homophobic statements to just admit that they're homophobic. He said it into a microphone... clearly he meant what he said. If his manager wasn't losing millions, he wouldn't apologize or care. Just admit you're homophobic at that point and the homophobes can continue to be your fans while the rest of us continue to actually give a shit about people. Maybe a bad take but the empty apologies are SO transparent like it means absolutely nothing anymore... we all know that DaBaby is a homophobe now. I've met homophobes and there's not much you can do or say to change their mind, they don't give a shit so what's the point anymore of apologizing lol

In your advice segment part, I relate to the "being friends with exes thing" as my bf (we've so far been together for 9 years) used to cuss out his ex and then in 2018 when we went back to visit his family, we played dnd with his ex and her husband. She and another friend of ours, (felt like this was a gang up, but was just us chatting in the kitchen, I tried to laugh this off) said, "you don't know him like I do" when by that point he and I had been together for 6 years already. But he and she were together for only maybe 3 years. My bf is friends with them both as he's trying to mend a friendship with the guy who used to babysit him basically, as they'd hang out and game together years ago. But being friends with his ex is just weird to me. Sure, I've heard of some people making it work. But It just makes me so uncomfortable. I'm friends with her on socials just to stay in the loop but want to delete her. I feel as though it'd make waves if I delete her. It's honestly so strange to fathom for me, all the hurt, even his mother is still friends with her because they used to be neighbours. Idk... What even? My bf has stated that she's married, and I've seen all of that, with the guy she ran off to. We've been to their place, had bonfires etc. Some things you don't just, "get over and move on from", is just weird after so long. Confusing.
@ps1hagridoufofcharacter3 жыл бұрын

About the friends talking to ex: Ive been in similer situations. For context my Ex used to be my bestfriend and she gave me the choice to be her s/o or not be friends anymore so i made the stupid disicion of accepting it. But we used to have alot of mutual friends so when i broke up with her i did expect those friends to still be friends with her. A couple of years later i learned how toxic she truly was and the people that kept on being friends with her i just stopped talking to and the people that left her then told me she bad talked me alot lol We both still go to the same cons and while i try to avoid her bc just seeing her gives me so much anxiety it still happens... Now once my current friend, best friend and me did a lil group cosplay and another group joined us asking if we all could take pictures togeter. I then saw my ex was in that group and i said no, i knew if i joined she would try to talk to me and has tried to in the past put the blame on me while it was her that started to compleatly ignore me. Now my friend didnt knew at the time but my best friend did and still said yes. I then sat alone for almost an hour with a mental breakdown seeing them all have fun togeter. Ive always had a hard time vocalizing my feelings especially irl and when my friends returned i got mad and cried. Now im better with telling them my feelings and they know not to do that, but in that moment i felt absolutly misreble. So i feel like if they are truly your friends they wouldnt do that

22:41 maybe im being way too intense about this but dogs, if not all other animals, shouldn't just be given to people as "gifts". theyre living creatures with feeings and awareness and they don't deserve to be treated like some other replaceable object to be passed around by people. also getting pets for people as surprise gifts especially if the person isnt expecting it at all or is ill-equipped on the supplies that the animal's going to need, is irresponsible
@walmartrotisseriechicken3 жыл бұрын
like i guess the only morally-just reason for doing something like this would be presenting an animal to someone after theirs passes away, not as a replacement but as more of a way to help them move on? idk but bitches like david piss me the fuck off. knowing that neither of them most definitely don't give a single fuck about that dog & will probably just hand it off to some intern or somebody to raise it for them

for the advice question about having friends that hang out with your ex: you can do better. friends that aren't willing to listen to you about their behavior that upsets you are not very good friends. and i know it's easy for me to say that, but i have spent years of my life getting nonchalantly disrespected by ~friends~ and pushing those ignored hurt feelings aside because "we've been friends since forever" or because they really added to my life in other ways. and it's not worth it. that kind of shit has a tendency to chip away at your self esteem, self respect, and willingness to take your own emotions and mental health seriously. sunk cost, whether in the form of time, energy, money, or success in other areas of your life, is not really a good reason to keep friendships if that's the Main thing keeping you invested. just because someone Has been a good friend to you in the past does not mean that they're being a good friend now. bottom line: this isn't just an annoying quirk of them to stay friends with your ex, it's a manifestation of them not respecting you. if they were really good friends, they would care about your well-being and want to avoid doing things that hurt you.

Pertaining to the advice segment- I believe abusive people still deserve to have support and being friends with someone who has done bad things does not translate to supporting bad things. People who hurt others do so because they're hurting. Those people still deserve the opportunity to practice having healthy relationships to learn how to do better.

Same. After all the misinformation going around even us logical people are susceptible to that propaganda because it feeds off our emotional brain, not our logical side. I kept reminding myself of the statistical harm of not getting it vs getting it to calm me.

This came at a weird time bc my grandma just died like 2 days ago. She has 9 kids and wanted to split everything evenly among them but that means selling the house we all grew up in to split the money and I’m just here trying to figure out how to make sure they sell to someone in the family instead of a developer 😭 the city I’m in was a small town when they moved in in the 1960’s, my whole family is there, but now it’s becoming super developed w old houses being demolished and replaced w several 1/2 million dollar houses and the thought of that happening to the place I grew up is rly scary tbh 🙃

Damn, the first question for the advice segment sounds so similar to what I'm going through right now. My friends are so good to me, but it's hard and it sucks so much that they're still such close friends with my ex. I'm trying to heal and make it work somehow, but if I can't, I guess I'll have to cut them all 😔

Can't really understand why staying friends with someone's ex would be a big deal at all if the break up was mutual and there's no hard feelings? I feel like that's just something you have to get used to as an adult - people break up just so much all the time, you're not always gonna want to have to choose between two friends. obviously if the relationship was abusive it's a very different story
@sabahk3 жыл бұрын
yeah to me it depends. Say you've had two friends that you've known for an equally long time/know well and they start dating but end up breaking up. In that scenario, as long as nothing horrible happened (cheating, abuse etc...), I think it would make sense to stay friends with both parties. I mean, ur just the middle man at that point. I think the way Kurtis meant it was like if one of your good friends breaks up with someone (who u weren't previously friends with), it'd be weird to reach out/talk to them. Which I can understand. I'm not gonna choose some random person my friend dated that I've only talked to when they were together over my actual good friend. If ur friend decides to stay friends with them, then I think that's fine too. So yeah, I don't think it's totally out of the question. Definitely depends.

for the advice about the friends and your ex: its really important to know, were they already friends pre-breakup? did the ex do something heinous? i understand feeling hurt, but if the ex never did anything absolutely abhorrent and your friends were already friends with them, theres nothing you can do. i agree that friends shouldnt be friends with their friends enemies, but if they were friends before that, you cant expect them to stop. idk i feel like there were a lot of missing details in that

For the first advice question: I know the person said that they don’t want to drop their friends but.. bro.. those aren’t your friends. Actual friends don’t do that, what you have is a group of assholes pretending to be your friend. You deserve better than that. Making new friends is hard, but it’s definitely much better than staying with people who knowingly make you feel awful.
