PLEASE don't talk to the "manifestation" girl. She's just going to talk in circles and use you for exposure. She 100% implied that she just wished a car into reality, and her response to being called out is "I manifested it by *making my own money.*" So, which is it? Magic or a regular goddamn transaction? I'd skip watching the episode if you brought her on.

If he really wants to talk about manifestation he should talk to someone who’s actually Hindu or Buddhist or someone who knows wtf they’re talking about and not just using a spiritual practice closely related to praying and seeking enlightenment to help capitalism and make it something elite and gross and disconnected from their roots.God I hate tiktok sometimes for that, the same shit happened to yoga and meditation, where white people just took it over with zero clue to its significance.

And the thing is all the attributes that the guy is talking about “bouncing pecks” “six pack abs,” are all distinctive to the MALE gaze not the female gaze. All of those attributes perpetuate that men should be “strong” and “tough” which is a direct line to the patriarchy. A lot of men can’t understand why many women like Harry Styles and Timothée Chalamet bc they don’t coincide with the male gaze but the female gaze. Men are literally out here blaming women for their problems when it’s their fault.

I totally get that, I just don't think the tiktoker did that song with the intention of dismiss women's issue. Like Kurt in the video said: "Yeah but me tho". Thats the part I think everyone got wrong. The parody build a dude was made with the intention of bringing up male body positivity in a society that wants men to be strong and have a 6 pack. With that put, you can interpret as a union between both binary genders to fight agains society, not to fight each other on who's the most sufferable. Thats how I view it.

It’s about the patriarchal expectation for men to be “strong” and “dominant.” It’s not what most women or even gay or bisexual men want, it’s about the male gaze but not in a sexual way. Just like how women pressure each other to look a certain way, men do that to each other too. Forced conformity. And because men have more power over society than women, the forced conformity that the patriarchy puts on both men and women is the strongest.

I absolutely don't want an episode about Manifesting. In my opinion, manifesting implies that people who are less fortunate aren't "trying hard enough". Tiktok manifestation by people like this woman in the tiktok commodify a very real spiritual practice which is part of Hinduism and Buddhism. This is the danger of tiktok tbh they take something which is very ancient and has important roots in people’s culture and uses it to help capitalism and dirty the name up till it’s mixed with crystal healing. I’m disappointed he didn’t get someone who actually knows what they’re talking about and actually practices the larger Hindu/ Buddhist practices involved, same thing happened to yoga too😑😑

If you're making so much money now then surely someone else could use the Tesla more than you, and you can just manifest more cars? For the manifestation update, in order to manifest what you want into your life (abundance, wealth, love, friendship, etc.) you do actually have to put in the work in order to attract those things into your life. Manifestation is speaking these things into existence as if they’re already yours in order to create the desired outcome. But it isn’t just speak something into existence and then you automatically get it, you actually have to align yourself with your manifestation and put in work and effort. As in you are what you attract.

imma be honest I don't. want to hear her come on the pod and talk abt manifesting. Something really doesn't sit right with me, implying that to be successful you need to tell urself that ur gunna be successful and suggesting that its a good way to do it-- especially when it just sounds like she worked hard and was lucky to have the opportunity to succeed. I think positive thinking is good but I don't love pushing it as this magical thing that will help anyone instead of actual advice

basically manifesting is about intention, you put the intention into your actions therefore you are more likely to achieve it. It's basically about putting faith into yourself

it's simply a new age way of putting effort and believing in yourself.... I mean, if it has a positive effect on your mind go for it, but it's still weird to treat it like is something more than normal

It’s possible he learned about it from Frenemies, where I know Trisha has talked on there about manifesting things and it kind of seems like they basically just mean wishing things into existence. I just remembered a quote I was told as a child. Wishing without work is like fishing without bait.

@@genericname8727 he has talked about it before. Like when some chick "manifested" a tesla her daddy probably bought her. If it's really just putting faith in yourself then we should say that instead of filling kids with false home that if they want something bad enough it will come to them.

sometimes as humans we hold in our farts, and we think it’ll be okay. but the gas starts to build up and eventually our body will burst. so it’s best to let out small little farts every once in a while to feel that relief so we don’t explode. it’s normal to fart. and it’s normal to take a break. so go and take a little fart. it’s normal.

This whole Trisha thing has so deeply disturbed me as a Jew. I've experienced antisemitism my entire life so I'm used to it, but seeing this Trisha thing blow up has made it hard for me to sleep at night, not because of Trisha, but because of everyone excusing them, forgiving them, or ignoring the antisemitism. It's all over my social media, and it hurts to be reminded that I'm not including in peoples' activism, that the right and left don't care about Jews. People keep saying that Trisha was growing and working on themself and showed progress, but if you watch Frenemies, you'll see that Trisha made extremely antisemitic comments throughout the entire timeline, never did they stop. It was CONSTANT. People just chose to ignore it, because its just Jewish people, right? Who cares about *them*? Some people are calling it out, and I'm so thankful for them, but I also see that over half of them are Jewish themselves. Everyone else is just glossing over it and only focusing on the money thing and the podcast. Idk, just hearing my favourite youtuber even address that Trisha has done antisemitic things made me begin to cry, it makes my fight feel less lonely..so thanks for that Kurtis, I appreciate it being aknowledged very much.
