I wonder if Tyler still plays video games as often as before? He did sell his gaming collection. I'm 5 years older than him and I lost some of my gaming interests by 2007. I would still consider myself a semi-casual gamer. I think every person will reach an age when gaming isn't as fun as before. The most fun parts of our life in gaming is always when we look back. But as Tyler and Aly Mills said in Cobra Kai, we could look back at the past but we can't always be stuck living in it. We do have to evolve as people. We do need to grow up. Would be cool if Tyler told us which modern franchises does he still play? This channel is really dedicated to his father which is one of the nicest things a son could ever do. Keep your dad's memories alive. 8-Bit Christmas (2021). That ending was bittersweet but heartwarming and this channel reminds me of that and The Goldbergs at the end of each episode. This upload is the best video seeing Tyler's mom happy and playing an arcade game with her son. She deserves just as much praises. Tyler has two of the best parents you can ever have. The late-80s to early-90s are some of my favorite years in my life. Wish it was still 1989-1993 again.

Wow, your dad tooks some great footage of this! One thing I spotted in the vid was what looks like a prototype level from Garfield: Caught in the Act that we didn't get in the final release. I When Epcot in the summer of 2000 when I was 15 years old. i had no idea that The Sega Innoventions exhibit was there. It was the coolest place and I spent at least 3 or 4 hours there while my parents walked around. The Sega Dreamcast was the main focus for the upcoming games schedule. They still had the history of Sega with all the original consoles including the Master System, Game Gear, Nomad, Genesis, 32X, Saturn, and Dreamcast. The Sega Dreamcast was the first console I bought with my own money I earned from working at Farmer Jacks bagging groceries in 1999.

I was blown away by Innoventions though my favorite Sega memory in Walt Disney World was at DisneyQuest, surrounded by stranger kids all hanging together, united by the innovative, fun, and hilariously over-the-top Sega game, Brave Firefighters. Us random assortment of kids, we played through the entire game together. (it helped that the only cost was the ticket to get in the building)

Such a great look back at such a nostalgic time. It makes me so sad that things like these are just myths now with no hype other than what's in the next super gaming pc or video card. I miss the innocence of these. These were really great time capsules. I'm so glad your dad was able to capture it all on tapes and you were able to digitally transfer it to new media for us. My dad use to want to do the same, but we had one of those HUGE camcorders that had to take the VHS tapes and it was too heavy. We spent more time with that than actually having fun at the places. Thank you for sharing these memories, it totally reminds me of my own at times. Glad I found the channel!

I’m a few years older than you, born mid 1979, and was at Disney World 2 times in the late 80’s. (‘87 and ‘89), and 3 times in the 90’s (‘94, ‘95, and ‘97). Like you, I grew up playing video games a LOT too. Although I had nowhere the amount that you had, and neither of my parents had any interest in them. I’ve always loved theme parks and amusement parks though, and have actually lived in Orlando now for over 25 years.. Epcot has always been my favorite park though. In the 90’s, Innoventions had such promise. I always wanted it to be a constantly updated, cutting edge place. But overall over its years, it just never was. Maybe in its earliest years, but it gradually got more and more outdated, and more and more abandoned as areas were closed off. Sort of like Disneyquest was at Downtown Disney too. But I really wish I could have been this place that was a cutting edge showcase. Maybe a place where news organizations even came too for reports and said “Hey, look what Sega, or Sony, or any other tech company was showing now.” Just never seemed like it was. But it’s earliest days and the promise of it? So cool.
