That is my own undoing. When you start to listen to audio books at 2x the speed to get through more of them you can't come back from that. When I talk at a normal pace it feels so slow.

We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version kzbin.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

Aside from trickle charging battery if you have existing doorbell wires, what added benefit / installation complications are there with the wired version? Also have you done any videos on accessory cameras? You mentioned that you had other Eufy products, so i have a question. I have a Eufy Mesh WiFi system with six stations that covers the entire house. I'm thinking of getting Eufy security cameras and doorbell. They will not all be in range of the Homebase. Does that matter? Will all the cameras speak with the Homebase via the Mesh WiFi? Or do i need multiple Homebases? (I remember you said that the doorbell doesn't speak directly to the WiFi, but that may not be a problem if everything else can.)

I am not a 100% sure if it would work. Do you have a link to the mesh system you are using? Even if the system is from eufy I do not think it would work as these devices communicate directly with the Home base.

That would be too far. The max range is 40feet max. If you are looking to do something like that you could set up a mesh network node and set the basestation to wireless mode which was added via a recent frimeware.

This works only with the home base that comes with it. It by passes that use of the chime box you might have in your home.

If the clicking sound is what I am thinking of it has to do with the camera sensors and waking up. I have tested two of these cameras and they both made that sound.

Once you open the app in the lower left there is an icon that looks like a camera. Click that and you will record the live feed from the doorbell.

Not sure I understand your question. However, if you have the old version of the battery doorbell the mounting plate for that one will not work with this new doorbell.

That is the issue with any smart doorbell. The answer is nothing, you can only slow someone down.

The biggest is that it can be placed anywhere. Other then that they are pretty much the same. The wired version will have slightly faster notices.

Good review! So if it’s wired, it still runs on battery (which would always be charged), but not powered like the wired version, yet it can still use current chime? Kinda disappointed that the wired version doesn’t include a homebase or ability to use current chime.

You would first have to download the clip to the app then send those files to the computer. Or if you got this with the home base 3 you could use the off load option there to put the clips on a flash drive.

You do need to bring the doorbell inside to charge it. It can be done by plugging it into the home base.

Not at this time. I think part of that is there are no IR lights for the bottom camera so it needs the lights to see.

I have the same device on accu and very powerfull wifi but still having delay. When someone push the button it takes almost 5 to 6 seconds for I recieve notifications. Any tips on how to get "live"notifications?

It has a 8gb video integrate memorie in it's chime, no sandisk, videos can be downloaded or share from your phone. There is a plate with a pressure locking tab to keep it on your door. But just like a regular doorbell someone that wants to pull it down can with a little effort and time.

Would you say this is the best battery doorbell on the market at the moment? Is there a noticeable difference in picture quality to the 2K battery which has WDR & not HDR? I was considering the Nest battery but I saw your review. If only they followed Ring with swappable batteries. Devices with a non removable battery have a limited lifespan once it wears & keeps less charge.

@@Wanderer001_Reviews I decided to buy both to trial as undecided. They both have their strengths & weaknesses with much room for improvement. My conclusions its a draw. >The Eufy Dual battery has a higher resolution therefore more detail & a sharper image over the Nest Battery but its video can buffer more, it's motion not as smooth as the Nest with a slightly longer delay. >The Eufy has a wider 160 degree field of view but this comes with more of a fish eye effect. Annoyingly there is no distortion correction feature in the app for the Dual Battery, unlike in the wired 2K. >The aperture isnt as good as the Nest battery. It will blow out bright sunny backgrounds even with HDR on. >When the night setting is off (as i have a porch light so prefer colour over B&W). I get a much darker image than the Nest which looks like twilight just by the light coming from the street lighting. >The motion detection of the Eufy isn't as good as the Nest with a slower start up response, even with 'All Motion' set & not just 'Humans'. You can hear a click when activated. It starts recording people events at 4 metres from my door, where the Nest picks up neighbours 6 metres away (we share a garden path). It's sketchy AI filters them out as false events. >No chime provided with the Nest where the included Homebase acts as a chime. However the Nest will auto bring up video within 5 seconds on the Echo Show when the doorbell is pressed. Where the Eufy Dual will take 20+ seconds. >The big draw for the Eufy is 16gb of local storage where the Nest only keeps the last 3 hours of events accessible before auto deleted. >The battery on the Eufy Dual lasts slightly longer than on the Nest where at 75% im notified to charge it with an estimated 5 days left of recording. >The audio speaker is slightly better on the Nest doorbell to talk thru however its chime can barely be heard when the ring is pressed? >The Eufy app has included more premium features for free where the Nest is pretty basic. However the Home app is more streamlined to use, including the video player. It's a pity Google ditched the Nest app which is said to be better. The Eufy app is more prone to glitches where both apps are designed for the vertical orientated screen of a phone, but i also have a tablet. In the Eufy app I find that when changing the orientation of the screen to view a live feed on my tablet or switching between pic in pic & split view. It can cause the video to buffer & crash. The other negative is Eufy is now aggressively pushing its products with pop ups when using the app. It interferes with the overall experience. > I find the understated aesthetics of the Nest battery more pleasing to the eye. It comes in different colours. As i have a white UPVC door frame to attach it too the black obelisk of the Eufy looks less attractive.

I bought the Eufy Dual Doorbell 2K in February this year knowing that the software release was due in March 2023 so that the doorbell will then work with Homebase. 3. There's nothing worse than having two home bases and a doorbell that can't recognize familiar faces. I got an email today from Eufy stating that there will be no firmware update for this doorbell for the next 2 to 3 months. I, along with many other customers, would feel very let down with this new information.

Last dumb question and a finding I'd like to share with you and get your info... I promise! Have mercy on this old timer🙂 I'm just about sold on the eufy wireless, in fact I am sold on double camera model. OK the dumb question, if info is stored locally in base station, if you are away from home how can a phone app connect to your internet? I dont understand that at all. My wifi signal is non existent even at the end of our street let alone another town 🤔 so how can my phone app make a connection??? Now for something I found ... it was said that the USB port on the eufy base station can be used with a USB SD thumb drive for additional video storage. If your phone has cellular data and the eufy app it can talk to the home base even when you are not home. That is the great thing about it. You can expand the storage but for most the storage is more then enough for months of clips. And the oldest do get override so technically you never run out of space if you don't mind losing older clips.

I have a Eufy door bell and wireless cameras. LOL, what a mistake. After having a NEST, Ecobee, Philips lights and the Eufy, I have learned the hard way never to buy any "cloud" appliance. The bases of the Eufy and and Philips appliances are deprecated. I can't upgrade them because their apps no longer recognize them and I can no longer access old apps to transfer their control to another phone/tablet. The Nest had no user serviceable part and died unceremoniously and the ecobee freaks out if it loses an internet connection to its mother ship, never mind that the wifi is just fine. All of this and the apps scrape all the user data they can to send back to corporate momma which they moentize and to top it off, they put ads in their apps. Yeeeah, no. No cloud anything in my house ever again.
