Thank you so much Dr. Westin Childs. I find you are the smartest young dr. I have found on KZbin. Since going though menopause I have watched so many KZbin drs. But I’m very impressed with your knowledgeable. I know most drs. Are smart but you’re a different kind of smart and therefore I’m so grateful that I found you. Again, thank you 😊.

i’ve had extremely heavy and long and painful cycle. but i become pregnant VERY easily and have had three children w no probs. i’m now 50 in peri menopause. no dr at any time in my life acted concerned about my periods being so intense. now that i’m in peri menopause im having a hard time finding a dr who wants to do anything but throw birth control at it. ugh. i hope my daughter has a different experience now that the world seems to be waking to women’s health concerns!

I would love to hear what optimal levels of hormones are besides thyroid hormones. I read your article on optimal thyroid levels it was very helpful. I find most doctors don’t know how to interpret labs as optimal, rather only if they are in or out of range.

Hi Dr. Childs, I am 64, hypothyroid, with hashimoto, My doctor says my thryoid is fine under medication. I have gained 35lbs which I can not lose and I am losing my hair like crazy. Who do I ask to have all of these tests done, My family Doctor will not order any more tests for me. I also have RA which I am taking hydroxychloriquine and celebrex. So disappointing when no one will listen. Thank you for your videos.

Hello! I lost my hair in large chunks about three times this year. I had to cut my hair into a pixie hairstyle because of it. I realized that the trigger for my hair loss, was stress (cortisol). Btw, I had a partial thyroidectomy. Our diagnosis while similar, maybe different. I hope this helps!

Thank you! My hormones have been imbalanced for most of this year, partially due to stress. I had a partial thyroidectomy a couple of years ago. I have been EXTREMELY hot for most of the year, and this is unrelated to the temperature outside. Sometimes when it's cold outside, I sleep with a small fan on, and the ceiling fan, while undressed. I will be turning 33 next month. Do you know the reason for these hot flashes that last all day? There are some very random times in which, I'd feel cold (really cold) for like 5-10 minutes but then right after that I'd be super hot again. I am not taking any medicine. I am about 30 lbs overweight, but I do exercise (Tabata) 5 times per week, and I overall I eat pretty healthy.

I am 40 year male and recently tested my thyroid profile. Bothe Free T4 and Free T3 are in normal range but TSH is high 9.5. My PCP said this is hypothyroidism and put me on 37.5 mcg levothyroxine. Does that sound right? I have gained 40 pounds in last 12 years and feel low energy/ fatigue for last 2-3 years. All fat is belly fat. Your videos are useful but unless you do consultation, it’s not very helpful. Even taking those thyroid supplements you sell; without accurate diagnosis taking those is not a good idea. how one can get in touch with your office?
@drwestinchilds3 жыл бұрын
You're on a pretty low dose so you probably won't feel much but the general direction isn't all that bad. You really don't need lab tests to use my supplements, though, you only need lab tests to determine if you need thyroid medication. I'm not seeing patients but you can contact us here! www.restartmed.com/contact/

I am 45, still have regular cycles about every 26 days, and a doctor I am going to for my thyroid put me on 200 mg oral Progesterone everyday. After two months I had the worst period of my life and I put myself back on P cream for just the last two weeks of my cycle. Also, P cream or oral?

I was diagnosed hypothyroidism with tsh 4.95 and t3 1.1 and when I went on medication levothyroxine 6 weeks 75cmg and my tsh went 0.23 and having hot flashes, lost weght, sleeping problems heart palpitation somy doctor reduced levothyroxine to 50cmg now after another 6 weeks the tsh is 2.11 I feel more overheated contact hot flashes, sleeping problems and I feel my right thyroid gland is swelled. Should I stop taking levothyroxine ? I have not symptoms of hypothyroidism I think I have an overactive thyroid.
@drwestinchilds3 жыл бұрын
You definitely don't want to stop your thyroid medication without first consulting your doctor. It is probably the case that your dose needs adjusted downward based on your symptoms but you wouldn't want to make changes without physician approval.

Whats is the cause of high calcium levels, prolactin , elevated TSH and cortisol levels? Are they associated with pcos or the pituitary gland ? Any help would be appreciated, I'm asking for my daughter who's autistic/learning disability. She has pcos as well. Her Endocrinologist is not very helpful. Her nutritionist says it is related to the parathyroid. She has low vitamin D levels as well!
@drwestinchilds3 жыл бұрын
It sounds like several different issues all at once. Parathyroid manages calcium, prolactin comes from the pituitary, TSH from the pituitary, and cortisol from the adrenal gland.
