What if dick realized eventually batman would need another robin so changed it ig ofc only saying this if the suit wasn't changed or something.🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨 I did watch all the way through
@BurnRoddy Жыл бұрын
Its pretty simple. Batman had that red pants costume made for Dick out of sympathy due to the fact that his OG costume being to reminiscent of the Grayson family and his aerialists parents in particular who lets not forget were slaughtered right before his eyes. After much mediation and comming on terms with his sorrow, Dick decided that he should honor his parents and embraced the green on his sleeves but decided to keep the pants and have them be green as well. Now Bruce keeps that red and black suit Dick might've only used a couple of times on his Batcave because its the costume of the Robin he wanted to raise and not the one who abandoned him. The fact that the TAS suit is destroyed on Batgirls dream seems to indicate that not only Batman but also Barbara felt betrayed by Dick with his departure. And there you go, that's my explanation.

Took REALLY long time of self gaslight to convince me about Robin's classic costume + watching Ninja Scrolls in which based ninjas had similar exposed legs + Russian sambo where guys also have same exposed legs + accept that only Bob Kane and his ghosts ACTUALLY understood the assignment and the WHY of this costume, and how it should be drawn, and not everyone else who drew Robin ever since up until costume change into the Nightwing and until 90s cartoon and movie completely put pants on Robin. Until Zack Snyder , who UNDERSTANDS the Why of the Robin costume, along with Wilkinson modernized pants-less Robin suit, which looks absolutely awesome on cosplayers.

Speaking of "A Death in the Family," I've always found pretty fascinating the alternate page the authors made in case fans voted for Jason to live, which shows a blissful Batman holding Jason's body while yelling, "He's alive! Thank God!" I wonder how the Batman stories would have continued from that point if that page was the one used at the end. Anyway, it was colored and featured in "Batman Annual 25", the special issue that tells how Jason was revived, as "the reality that should have been", according to the narrator. They should have definitely adapted it for the interactive film
@segevstormlord3713 Жыл бұрын
I know so little about Jason Todd, but wasn't he hated by the fans because he was "edgy" to the point of being unlikable? Not saying that "justifies" voting to have him killed off, but I do wonder if it would've harmed the ongoing story by driving more people away, if he truly was that unpopular. Tim's always been my favorite Robin, ever since I learned about him in the animated series. I like his comics origin (what I know of it) even better than his merged-with-Todd animated backstory, but his attitude and personality always were more fun to me. That said, the Young Justice version of Drake vs. Grayson felt...swapped, with the early season Robin having the impish computer genius quality and the later season Robin having this "I'm trying to be as serious as Batman" thing going on.

That always seemed really weird to me. Like life isn't a binary thing where you're either 100% okay or 100% dead... you _can_ be those things; but after a battle, _any_ battle, you'll likely be somewhere in between. If he's dead, he's dead... comics have a million ways to undo that, but there's no reason the characters should be aware of it. If he was alive, Batman shouldn't be exclaiming it to the Heavens, he should be saying something like, "Don't worry Jason, we'll patch you up." or something like that. I mean, I know it's more 'cinematic' this way, but it's still weird. The next few hours/days will be critical for him, and you don't really have time to confirm to the readers that they saved Twink-erbelle with their phone calls.
@TetsuShima Жыл бұрын
@@Wendy_O._Koopa Keep in mind that a chikd like Jason literaly survived a brutal beating and an explosion, so it's not surprising that even a really serious guy like Batman reacted as if he just saw a miracle. My theory: It seems the Tim Drakes Robin-suit was made to look different so that viewers can have a visual cue that this (tim drake) is a different person/robin than was previously behind the mask as Robin before. It's also possible that when the Robin suit is introduced the second time (appearing red/black), it is actually in a slightly parallel timeline where that always was the robin-suit. Similar to how Batman forever is a sequel to Batman-Returns, but takes place in a slightly parallel timeline according to the new Flash film that brings back Keaton.

Looking at Dick's emotional state and going off of his age, it's quite possible the order of suits went like this- Being a very young child introduced to the 'cool' world of crime fighting dick had his very first suit with no pants. As he got older, possibly to imitate Batman or just from being older and outgrowing the no pants and pixie boots, he got the black and red suit. Once he started to grow into the Dick Grayson we see in the show, he got his final suit. A blend of both his original suit and second suit. Having the black cape back, boots, and pants while also having a lighter and brighter tone.

Also Barbara's dream but lemme focus on the flashback Tim is literally wearing his Robin suit. He knows what his Robin suit looks like. If this Robin suit is also Dick's Robin suit, which is basically what Tim and Alfred both said when Tim got it, then he would absolutely have imagined Dick in the current red and black Robin suit, not the old red and green Robin suit. I may be getting ahead of the video a bit, but I guess maybe you could say the red and black Robin suit could be an *older* suit that Dick wore when he was younger, and then in-universe redesigned it into the red and green suit when he outgrew the red and black suit? But like. . . I dunno. Isn't the story behind the red and green suit that it's like. . . already his? From his family's acrobat days? I uhh. . . hmm. . . . I feel like he'd have trouble fitting that as he grows older, though . . Unless he took his dad's as well

My Personal Headcanon: while on a Justice League mission, Bruce suffers his first heart attack. During his convalescence, Tim Drake joins the League as Red Robin with Superman’s knowledge but without telling Bruce, as a means of dealing with his trauma following his torture / killing of Joker. Red Robin successfully completes at least 3 League missions before Bruce returns as Batman, accompanied by Power Girl (aka Tea Hamilton, aka Galatea from Project Cadmus who’s honoring her late father’s wishes by joining the League). Both Tim and Tea leave the League upon Bruce’s return, both having successfully dealt with their personal issues, and it’s Tea we see with the elderly Tim in BB:RotJ.

Here’s my two cents: I think the black and red suit is an earlier version of the original Robin suit. It appears to be smaller than Dick’s Robin suit so it could have been from an earlier point in time, when Dick was a young teen. I bet there were multiples of this red and black suit made to fit Dick as he grew up. That’s just my theory.

Weird thing is that in the comics it’s actually drawn with the same colors as Dick’s suit

@@tigerlord9302 If you're talking about the "Batman the adventure continues" comics from resent years then the Robin your thinking about is Jason Todd, Tim Drake still has the red, black & yellow Robin suit but it's reveled that Jason existed and in flashbacks Jason is shown to have worn a similar suit with the red, green & yellow color scheme, the design for Jason's actually being a reference to a costume he briefly wore in the bronze age just before officially becoming the 2nd "Boy Wonder"

@@tigerlord9302 only other resent comics I can think of are the main universe one's where Tim has regressed back to being Robin again for some stupid reason dispit the fact Damian Wayne is still Robin and despite the fact that there where multiple times where Tim says that he has made peace with the fact that he isn't Robin anymore and that he excepts that it's time for him to move on, like how Dick Grayson went from Robin to Nightwing but for some dumb reason all of that has been stripped away to the point that Tim might as well be a different character entirely ( at least he feels that way to me in resent years), as for the red, green & yellow costume Tim has currently it's in reference to the first Robin suit that he wore, the same one that Dick Grayson has in Batman the Animated series even though it originated with Tim

Also, assuming Barbara's dream Batcave layout is correct, it would stand to reason that Bruce shoved the BTAS Robin costume back aways due to it being the one Dick wore when he quit. To the contrary, the red and black one represents a more wholly positive time, where he and Dick were the Dynamic Duo. Not for nothing, but, if I were Batman, I probably wouldn't want to remember that sucker punch, either! Lol.

You know I just remember seeing this as a kid and I was like why does Robin look SO different? He's a kid now? I didn't read the comics and had no clue who Tim Drake was, I just knew this guy wasn't Dick Grayson. I literally didn't know it was Tim Drake until I learned of his existence from the comics a few years ago. Even after I saw ROTJ it was like "oh this Robin's name is Tim" but since I didn't know Tim Drake was a thing it meant nothing to me. I feel dumb having typed all this out now...anyway great video keep up the great work guys!

Great video! Aside from the change from green to black, the way the trunks match the gloves, boots, and sleeves is similar to the original suit, so I think it could be a suit Dick wore sometime between the Batman Adventures flashback and BTAS, as a transition into his pants-wearing phase.

Ok, I have a bit of head-cannon to this. The first suit he wore "as robin" wasn't his first "robin suit". The suits design is based off his Flying Graysons suit. The suit without pants. . . what if that's NOT a robin suit. What if that's the Flying Graysons suit? The one he had in the circus. That would mean the suit that came after that would be the first OFFICIAL robin suit. And if it's the first robin suit that bruce made was the red one, then that's why he's more found of it over the Flying Grayson suit despite the FG suit coming first. After that, as dick got older. Bruce made another suit on dicks birthday to better pay omage to the boys parents. This is when it was made green.

I still like to think the red suit was Jason Todd’s and Batman doesn’t speak about Jason because he still feels that was his greatest failure, the emotional pain being too much. I know not “canon” but sometimes I think imagination needs to be used to fill in the gaps.

This is my personal interpretation. In the "Batman The Adventure Continuous" after Jason aparently dies, Bruce finds what's left of the Robin costume. From my point of view (the Jedi are evil, but that's besides the point) the suit we see in "The New Batman Adventures" is the old Jason suit remade. Why, you may be asking? I think Bruce wanted to remember Jason diferntly, not how he ended (a cold supervilain hunter) but as a son. That's just what I think happened, It may not be perfect, but I like this explanation

I think a interesting video would be on how the Prototype suit from Superman:the animated series, could be the predecessor of the Batman beyond suit, since they’re both relatively sleek suits with enhanced agility, strength, rocket boots, paralysis fail safe system, HUD built into the lenses ect, I know there’s not a lot of in terms of evidence for it being true but I thought it was an interesting connection nonetheless

I assumed anything we saw in the DCAU could have led to the future tech. That’s what they did in JLU in the epilogue episode to explain Terry being Bruce’s genetic son. I’d think Wayne Enterprises would buy up companies that had tech that was too dangerous to be left unchecked to prevent any new similar villains. That suit was hyper advanced but then you see similar tech in JLU and Batman mainly funds the watchtower.

I always thought it was Dick’s “retired” costume from before his growth spurt. Like, when Bruce first adopted him and he was still a kid, but when he god older, he did a redesign and added some green as he grew up and felt like he wasn’t as dark as Batman, sort of the early inkling of rebellion that would culminate in the episode where he quits to strike out on his own. That was my head cannon at least.

It’s funny how businesses executives always think “kids want to see kids! Put a kid in it, that will make kids watch!” when my experience was always hating kids in movies and shows as a kid, most people I know also didn’t like kids in stuff… I remember thinking that Batman is so much cooler without some kid following him around.. lol I’ve actually grown to appreciate Robin more as an adult! I like how the Bat Family grounds Bruce, and helps him retain his humanity and remember why he fights. As a kid tho… I was like “B-Man, ditch this little loser and go fight some real crime! Leave the nerd with Alfred so you can take down Ras and the ninjas!” Hahaha

So they redesigned the characters halfway through Batman TAS, right? Like, The Joker, they got rid of the yellow eyes and green hair, replaced it with black eyes and black hair, right? And now the old Robin suit had green sleeves, while the new one doesn't? I think im noticing a pattern, I think they just didn't want the color green.

For Batgirl to dream reference (yes, I'm making that a thing) Dick's original suit, she had to have seen it at one point. Using a bit of reality on this, when we dream, it's usually mixed with references we've seen or are familiar with. So, the green and red is a carry over from BTAS. Tim's suit could have been a prototype that Dick (maybe Jason) wore for a quick moment before getting his own proper suit. Also, I love how comic book Tim's suit eventually evolves into the animated version after Infinite Crisis during the 1 year later storyline in Teen Titans.
