Yet another superb training video that shows so well your 20 years experience, which I have close to as well. If I had my way, having taken up WC , Oils (3 years a go) and now Mixed Media and the 'head shaking' disbelief of how bad so many wannabe Art tutors on here are, they would have to watch YOUR KZbins before going live to the public and have someone as good as you, to approve them before doing so. Recently due to finding I seem to have a talent for semi abstract landscape painting purchased a very good Mixed Media artist tutorial video whose style I really like and believe I may do well in. He uses a fair bit of WC and Oil Pastel that really gives some fantastic surfaces but unlike you, rushes the application of how to do so. So thank Michelle, so much for this video plus you reminded me of candle technique as well.
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber2 жыл бұрын
Ah, thank you! I have no idea what other teachers are doing on KZbin, I rarely watch their videos, I kind of don't want to be influenced by anyone else, or worried I am doing youtube the wrong way, so I just do my thing and put it out there!

@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber I certainly see the wisdom in your thinking. Hello, Michelle - another delightful video. I'm letting you know, "Yes, please" to Dorland's Wax video tutorial. I'd like to see it used in other projects. Would this wax work on a mostly smooth surface? For example, I have various small gemstones in interesting, rounded shapes. I think this wax resist technique, combined with various gemstone shapes could be interesting. I'm just not sure if the wax would work well on a surface much smoother than the leaves you demonstrated. Also, would you apply more wax to get a stronger relief image? Thanks for all you do to help me improve my art. 😁

Very clever! Maybe I don't even need to buy masking fluid! I am anxious to try all of these. I want to try a white Crayola as well. I was working on a painting of a Calla lily. The leaves are huge with white dots. I made marks with a white Craypa, and voila, just the look I wanted. Well, I could use a bit more practice in making the dots a bit smaller next time. I love the very practical advice you give. I might figure these things out on my own, but why not take advantage of your many years of experience, and detailed explanation of how to do it.
