i'm surprised he didn't include the lurking waiter, they wait and watch anxiously for the moment you have your mouth full, then at lightning speed zoom to the table to ask "is everything OK?" and all you can do is nod furiously whilst your trying to avoid choking to death attempting to comment. Rule 1 in hospitallity schoool must be "Never ask how things are when the customer has an empty mouth and can answer the question!".

My worst was my very last mouthful of nachos, we all know we save the biggest and best bite till last, it had everything on it. Well I shoved that into my mouth and gave up my dignity in that restaurant at that moment because it probably looked horrible, several margaritas were involved before this happened btw, then just as I did that the waiter came over to ask how our meal was 🤦🏼‍♀️ he should have known better, I mean it was my last bite🤷🏼‍♀️

Hilarious :D Once, in Paris, I went to a restaurant with friends from Taiwan, the US, Canada, Japan, Portugal. "Let's order a bottle of wine." "Oh yes! Which one?" Everyone looked at me, then. There was an oenologist among us... but I was the Parisian girl, soooo I should know better. Ha ha, finally everyone agreed to let the expert choose and she was thrilled. After the sommelier poured the wine into her glass, "It's corked," she said. The sommelier came back with another bottle. She liked it. So did we! (And I was happy and relieved that she did it (well!) instead of me ^^)

Waiters don’t care what people think about their wine knowledge. In majority of case there is not much to know. A bottle that cost in restaurants £50, is 10 in store. £10 wine is mass production wine and is not made from the grapes from one wine yard
