We Built a Motorized BIG TIRE Bicycle (with a Reverse Engine!)

We built a motorized bicycle! Powered by a Tillotson 212cc engine- but with a twist- the engine is mounted backwards in the frame, and it has a HUGE ATC 200 3 wheeler tire on the rear, making this a potential drag racing mini bike.

I remember one time I built a chicken run for my chickens, attaching the last board I thought "jeez I probably should have used a square" grabbed one and checked and every corner was PERFECT! A square-profile tyre will make the handling weird, it won't lean into corners properly and on straights you might get a deathwobble if it's shimmying from one shoulder of the tyre to the other.

If it was just a tad longer, with a real rear suspension, you could have positioned some foot pegs just in front of the engine (a real safety feature). A sprung suspenion in front would be "icing on the cake"! PS- Charles is working out fine.

Last year I built my first mini bike since 1964 out of a Mongoose BMX bike. 3hp Briggs flathead and a Max Torque clutch. eBay chains, bearings and sprockets. I built my own intake out of brass plate and copper tubing and silver soldered it together and used a Tecumseh H35 side draft carb. Tires and rims from Harbor Freight. The whole project was built with no welding. Band brake on clutch which needs improving.

Definitely one of my favorite looking builds you guys have done! I hope to see more reinforcements and gussets on structural connections but overall this is a sweet idea! You may need a set of high rise handle bars and super spoke chrome wheels to complete the look haha.

Love you guys!! Small engine driven builds are a love of mine also. I would like to attempt a multi trimmer engine “power module” as I call it. To power something. I built something like this years ago I live in Canada so when our rivers freeze we all go ripping up and down them with mine having a huge back tire like your it could rip down the river in the deep snow where snowmobiled usually rip them got the bright idea to make a ski / tire combo thing it was sweet and would go anywhere so cool boys 🤘🏻💯🤘🏻
