More than 19 months since Russia invaded Ukraine, the Ukrainian counter offensive is moving more slowly than expected and several U.S. lawmakers are calling to stop any additional aid. VICE News sat down with Rep. Nancy Pelosi to discuss the U.S’s role in the conflict, why she thinks there should be no limits to the U.S’s support, and why negotiating with Putin should be off the table.

@@rileyfox4001You: "America gets zero for helping Ukraine". Me: "Yes Riley, America gets zero for helping Ukraine, because if Putin takes Ukraine he's going to want Poland, our NATO Ally that we are required by treaty to protect. So Putin enters Poland, we send US soldiers from Alabama, and Georgia, and Texas, to Poland to fight. Our highly trained and well equipped soldiers kill Russian soldiers at a loss rate of 100 to 1. Putin has no choice but to use tactical nukes against our troops and we will retaliate with our nukes, starting a nuclear war. So Riley you are correct, America helping Ukraine now, gets us zero nukes being dropped in the future.

The USA is a war machine, while its people starve...their billionaires make bank...none of it ever reaches the lower class...the woke ideology is simply a distraction to prevent people from uniting in their own best interest. Division keeps them fighting within themselves, while the rich ransacks their future and prosperity. If you read on Rome's decline you see quite literally the parallels between both, a civilization will never progress without a strong middle class.

US spends almost $1 trillion a year on defense. Most of that is to defend other countries as a stabilizing force in the world. Probably $200-300 billion is spent every year in the Pacific, mainly to protect Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. An equal amount is spent in Europe to protect it. It's very strange that with all this military spending suddenly the comparatively small amount spent to stop Putin's seizure of the largest country in Europe has become a rallying cry for those wanting to limit spending.

@TexanIndependence
@TexanIndependence 8 ай бұрын
Who is fighting the tyrannical government in the USA now? Nobody is fighting that I'm aware of. Surely you aren't talking about the racist white supremacist slaveowners who rebelled against Britain over a tiny tea tax because their politicians weren't representing them (like ours represent lobbyists/donors and not us today), are you? Are you saying we should be like those founders who killed their countrymen and government agents over having to pay too much taxes to a government only represented by an elite donor/supportive class? or being spied on without warrants (that's happening to us now with the PATRIOT Act)? As for the French support of America, France cursed itself by doing so, the very King of France who supported America so generously, America in turn refused to pay back the loan and that same King of France, Louis XVI had his head chopped off, a sort of divine irony that the very king who made America's revolution possible was beheaded in his own revolution. Same with the famous Marquis de Lafayette, he was imprisoned and going to be executed if it weren't for America basically threatening war with France if they killed the Marquis de Lafayette. I wouldn't argue America's revolution was a good thing. Historically, it is the source of many evils, it prolonged slavery in America, it caused a violent civil war in America only 70 years after the constitution was written, and about to have another violent civil war soon today, not to mention America became a sort of New Rome, endlessly engaged in perpetual warfare abroad (America has had over 100 wars/conflicts in the past 150 years since the civil war, in order to distract our people from more civil wars), much like Republican France which didn't stabilize internally until Napoleon led the French Republic on a rampage abroad. Not to mention Republics brought us the evils of mass conscription: prior to that wars were fought by a tiny minority because there was no reason to get the majority of people involved nor could it be justified, until Republics which then lie to their people saying "You voted for war" (a lie, the elites/donor classes truly in power wanted the war).

That’s ridiculous, no more f’kin $$& for that wtf is going on… you never clean your neighbors backyard (in this case not even your neighbor) before you clean your own backyard, or may be a better analogy if you don’t build a fence and help secure your neighbors house who lives 1,000,000 miles away without taking care of your own home

Like Eisenhower told us, the military industrial complex is a threat and now they are profiting from the Ukraine War. BUT we also have to stand against Russian imperialism and the fact Russia wants to revive their empire by absorbing post Soviet countries. Truly a problem that is getting more complicated

It’s only a complicated problem if your materialistic analyses require you to subject foreign governments to your current ‘geopolitical’ standard without knowing the history of the Ukraine, it’s inception, the reigme after 1942 and its role in Russian/Ukraine conflicts till now. Ask yourself a few questions, why did the Volksmacht have to Proctect Germany? Where did the Wehrmacht go after the retreat from Stalingrad? Why didn’t they go back to Germany? Why are there so many far right Hegelian nationalists in the Ukraine?
