Would you forgive your partner for visiting a “dirty” KTV?? 🤭👄

Cute Sylvia Chan, If I have a partner who visit a ''dirty'' KTV, all depends on how much I love my partner, the more I love my partner, the higher the chances of forgiving my partner is higher, If my love for my partner is not so deep, chances of forgiving my partner is lower and might end up in a breakup.

This is an emotional episode in the sense that as listeners we are engaged in the stories shared by the speakers. It takes a huge courage for her to speak abt her dad's incidient. And healing must not be easy for them too. Hopefully her dad will indeed keep the family together and stop visiting those places already.

I really do not understand these KTV things, call me a good boy or faker if you want and I did go to one (tricked) and I felt shocked, terrified and left immediately when the half-naked girls came in (call me "not a man" if you want). It's not my kind of entertainment or enjoyment AT ALL. Why can't go to a movie or coffee or a beer in a regular fashion way when they cost MUCH lower? They say to do bonding with business-partners, what happen to business over a cup of coffee and beer? If I wanna sing and get hammered, I go Teo Heng la...if you go clubbing with loud music and get high, I just close one eye but still, not my entertainment...

Dont need to get married lah. Simple. Nowadays, we make things very complicated. A lot of shit shows in modern online dating. Tell me how many fake profiles out there? I have to meet a ton of girls that don't look like their profile pictures. They sound cool but they are boring in reality. I wouldnt be surprise going forward we will have more singles which is good. Too many narcissistic girls/guys around. You set high expectations but you are shit in reality. Remember this statistics that shows 80% of drivers think they are better than average? This is also applicable in dating. Average girls think they are in top 20% while they don't.

Maybe we should have the wife POV and interview as well (especially for those who forgave their partners before). Does not necessarily have to be KTV, can be cheating or any types of lying/mistruth.

Can I just say that it's disheartening to see so many comments trying to justify the guy's decision to cheat? Even if there is a problem with the relationship, isn't it logical and rational to communicate and seek an outlet to separate rather than heading to KTV and cheat on your wives?

Our actions have consequences. Don’t throw away the most important things for fleeting moments of pleasure :’) Not worth it. And even if you’re not attached, maybe still don’t go to the KTV? Why would you want to get yourself hooked to such ‘cheap way outs’, you would only make it easier for yourself to return to such places again in the future when you have a partner and the relationship isn’t going well. Be content with who you have, aim to become a better partner for the one you have chosen, through the thick and thin.

Really appreciate this episode! TTS really going over and beyond to bring us this quality content. It's an impt topic especially when you see how many ppl seek counselling these days because their partners were infidel. Really admire the second interviewee who made amends for his partner and also the latter from being willing to work through and heal through the pain. It's really easier to call it quits when you find out your partner cheated on you.

Thanks to SL for sharing her story. I had slightly similar but I share the same feels as SL. I don't want anything to do with him. But I still have to deal with his son. He never fulfilled his role as a father and it did really great damage to me and my mum as she brought me up alone single-handedly and also challenged against the laws since he did not want to apply PR for her after they got married (being scared that she will be able to share his assets, and also he wanted her to feel that she needs him in order to stay here), she had to work part-time jobs that were extremely low paying, even had to work illegally sometimes in fear of being caught. My mum is still not a PR today despite staying in Singapore for 31 years and more. My income is not great and I've failed to apply for her 3 times. This man did so much damage to us in my life, my mum told me to forgive him when he died but I told her, "no sorry ma, I'm gonna hate this person until the day I die". By the way, I love this kind of call interview / anonymous interview! Would it be possible to have more of these types? So we can see more types of stories? :D Tysm I love you both TTS

Lust is a pleasure bought with pains, a delight hatched with disquiet, a content passed with fear, and a sin finished with sorrow. There is no disease so destructive as lust. This hits way too close to heart. I am in the same situation as SL. except my mom was the one who found out that my dad had a mistress and confided in us (me and my siblings). Same thing, found evidence of messages on his phone, sending money, etc. Sucks to see mom hurt so much and cant do anything because ultimately its her marriage and her decision, eventually we confronted dad together and long story short, my mom forgave him because of family like what SL's mom did, and things are pretty much back to normal now. I 100% agree with SL, i will never fully forgive and see my dad the same way, but i can understand from mom's POV as well.

I think what is really wrong with this is that these men actually think it’s okay to go to these sleazy places, and that they completely ignore the consequences. They only came back to realisation only when they got caught, what if they hadn’t? Can’t imagine what extent it would’ve gone. Coupled with the encouragement to others to “try not to get caught, other than that it’s okay, just enjoy” kind of attitude, it just doesn’t reflect well on them. Let’s not say they’re all old bachelors, because we know the age range is also quite young. At these ages, those people would usually have some sorts of commitments, and yet they decide to do such things. Can’t really blame the young people why they don’t really prioritise relationships over career.

@14:50 then you're screwed up lor. if you choose to forgive your partner and stay with him, then don't use it to threaten him in any future arguments. if you cannot take it, then just leave the man when you find out. you're essentially guilt tripping your partner over and over again. having said that, the guy better also play his part to have some sort of plan on how he will gain your trust again and act upon it la (if you decide to forgive him)

@Chloe-dl3lh

Sometimes it’s too big an issue to forgive and sweep under the carpet. The partner definitely will not forget but to keep it silent inside her may also be killing her. It definitely also depends on the severity of the issue - go ktv with friends to chill but didn’t cheat vs cheated with the ktv girls. It also depend how sorry the partner is and how he make effort to amend the relationship, as you mentioned. If we are being practical, most of us bring up things from the past In quarrels. Even for the guy who said his partner did not bring it up again, note that it took her ONE YEAR PLUS to forgive and move on. Even when bringing things up, the tone and the dynamics of the relationship matter alot as well. “Are you still going to ktv with your friends?” “Have you ever thought of going back to ktv?” “You definitely going ktv behind my back again! Every night so late then come back!” Sometimes the motive to bring things up can be a honest conversation and reflection about what have happened previously. Partners who are real with each other will see each other through different, immature, crazy periods together. Just my two cents. Cheers!

Actually there are many more sad cases in the society that people do not know. Me myself, my dad cheated on my mom when I was 8 and the women came to our house pregnant, telling my mom everything. My mom is a proud woman and decided to divorce. My dad then took them to Singapore and lived here. I knew nothing back then coz I was too young to understand. I don't understand why the dad that always loved me and made me happy suddenly disappeared. When I was 11 years old, my dad asked if I want to come Singapore. I wanted to see my dad and I like the environment here so I say yes, little did I know how much sacrifice my mom had to do for me. At that time, my dad cheated on his second wife and was staying with a third woman. When we first came, my mom had no money no job and we had to stay tgt with them (yes that was very painful for us). We later moved out but due to some complicated situation, had to live tgt again when I was in sec3. And there's a lot of shit going on. I quarrel with that woman everyday, I need to protect my mom. This kind of situation carried on for years and worsened when I was in JC. I was very stressed out that time and didn't do well (but still managed to get into NTU lah. But I knew I could achieve much more if I was in healthy mental state). The point is, after the whole thing, you would think that I definitely hate my dad as fck. Actually yes I hated him for many years since I learned what happened when my mom explained to me why we have to live such a hard life and I felt I must study hard to protect her and myself. But at the same time I also felt very guilty and sad everytime I shouted at him because I knew he was very good to me, paid for my school fees (very expensive for foreign student) and never scolded me even when I am rude. However, my bf taught me a lot after I met him, and my mom also changed very much, she used to accuse my dad and tell me not to be too close to him. But in recent years, she admitted that it's not solely my dad's fault. Although he should take most of the blame for messing up our family, but there is actually a reason to it. She was very dominant, fierce and inconsiderate sometimes. She was not able to satisfy my dad's needs. My dad may not be a perfect husband, but I know he is a good son and tried to be a good dad (although I still suffered my entire childhood). So I understand him and forgave him. I also learned that as a kid, I was too young, too ignorant. I posed a judgement and death penalty on my dad before I could truly understand everyone's story, and this has made me and my father and everyone around us so miserable for a long time. If I hadn't met my bf and if my mom hadn't let it go, I would most probably remain as the childish dark desolate hateful me for a long time.

Anyways talking about the serious stuff, i feel like when the guy burns the bridge of trust, it will take time to rebuild it. As they say Rome was not built in a day. The second caller was lucky to have built the bridge back in a year, but we don't know how stable this bridge is. Also, another point is that if he really has a meeting with friends in the future, how will he justify that he is really with his friends, video call? There is so many backlashes to commiting one sin. It is quite scary because it can be a permanent backlash as seen in the last interview that TTS did.

Sexual weakness is men greatest enemies. Such places TREATS men like KIngs and Emperors. That is the difference that attracts men to such places. The experience one cannot get from homes. It is like living in a fantasy world away from the real world. The experience is FANTISTIC. So long as there are such activities around there will be customers whether we like it a not.

To people who patronize KTVs - your life your choices, go ahead & do your thing if it floats yr boat. With that being said though, i personally find it p damn laughable & pathetic when such ppl defend against the impression the general public has of these vices by calling the public “naive” or “innocently unaware”. If your definition of “naivety” is measured against how aware one is of vices… let’s be real lol, you strt up have lots of room left for maturing. By my books, and I’m sure the wider public’s books as well, naivety is measured against maturity. Maybe consider not being naive first before calling others naive.

I think too many people sitting high up in the ivory tower and not knowing what is happening on the ground. Visiting KTV is suppose to be seen as the least form of "being unfaithful". You can go KTV but not do anything crazy like "teh neh neh" or "short time" or worst still have a mistress. It is up to individual. I have seen Bros in KTV just play dice game with the hostess not more than that. Have you all walk pass those brothels at geylang before covid? So many nice cars parks outside. Mercedes, Lexus, BMW, Jaguar, u name it, all kind of cars are there. Can't be all single men right? This has been the norm for decades. Those "angpais" at geylang always long queue. All those married men wait inside sit at sofa and chill while waiting for their turn for the china CAT150. Vietnam girls are nothing. They can't fight with the gfe given by the PRC to these chinese men (with money) in SG. If you take into account the mssage parlours (lapsap) + those condo services which are more discreet, i can tell you there are thousands for men going for such services each month. I host parties for men. I know. The thing we should ask ourselves is what is missing at home until these men need to find it outside. Men love adventures. Men love the thrill and adrenaline. If a man's need is not being meet at home, it's common sense they will find it elsewhere. It's the same as if you don't communicate to your kids, your kids will find happiness in other areas or mix with bad company. So I guess we can just continue to blame men. That's how it works right? Women are always right. The key is communication at home. Spark the love again, make him excited. Don't expect the men to do everything. We are just tired. Sometimes all we want is someone to take care of our needs without even asking.

What an umfilial daughter this Siu Lian. What her father did, no doubt, is wrong and is hurtful to her mother but from a children perspective that does not affect his responsibilities as a father which he carried out. As children you got to accept that he is still your father. He brought you up, clothed you and raised you. What gives you the right to be angry? Mom on the other hand is a separate story. She has every right to divorce an unfaithful husband.
