You are such a beautiful person I’m so happy I came across your channel while searching for a simple recipe for bean paste. I’ve now subscribed and I’ll be learning as much as I can. I normally use SMB for piping but have always had a problem with warm hands so the buttercream becomes soft as I pipe and less stable. I can barely get a flower done and I’m either putting the buttercream in the frig or dipping my hands in iced water!! It really is a nightmare so I will give the bean paste a go and see if that makes a difference. Thank you for being so helpful and kind.

Wedding Cakes For You thank you so much for your reply. I definitely will try the bean paste. I also wanted to know where you get your pastry bags from and what they are called. I think I need something heavier than the plastic piping bags to help with the warm hands, someone suggested wearing a garden glove. I’ll try anything!!

I use Wilton Featherweight re usable bags. I like the 16 inch the best. You can get all different sizes. And make sure to get a bunch of couplers. They are in my shop too. www.amazon.com/shop/wedding_cakes_for_you

Great work and instruction! I am making butter cream flowers tonight for a cake. I would like to freeze them after making them. How long does it take to defrost once applied to the cake? Thank you for a great video!

Thank you Lynko. They don't take long to thaw. When you move them from the freezer to your cakes, the warmth from your fingers alone will start to melt them. So you have to be mindful of that.

I just happened to come across your video. I don't know why I haven't seen you before! So how long have you been doing cake decorating? Your mum was lovely. Just one issue for me...the camera angle. I noticed someone below thought it was "perfect!", but for me, I felt that we didn't get a good chance to see the angle of your tip or the flower in progress from any other angle than straight into it. I can't learn from that angle. Probably just me. Thanks for the video, though!

I have been on YT for over 10 years. I had a slow start and then started going full time a few years back, I hope you will enjoy some of my other more recent videos. @@CakesWithLorelie Well, I was raised by a mother who did wedding cakes out of our home (just a regular home oven and our dining room table!) to bring in money. When she passed in 2014 I ended up with most of her supplies, though I didn't know that much about it all. I turned 65 this year, and have a rare form of arthritis in my wrists and hands so I want to keep them as strong and limber as much as I can for as long as I can, so I pulled out mama's stuff and began my late journey. I am actually getting better at my creations, but most importantly, I am having lots of fun! It is definitely practice, practice, PRACTICE, right?

When you say Italian meringue do you mean Italian meringue buttercream. I have been trying lots of buttercream and frosting recipes. Trying to find a recipe that doesn’t taste like a blob of butter once the cake has been refrigerated for a day or two. Appreciate any help. Thank you,Melinda

Yes Italian meringue Buttercream. Give my recipe a try. It's less butter than some recipes out there. I think once your buttercream is at room temp and soft it brings out the flavor more.
