The Werewolf is my favorite classic movie monster and I was really looking forward to the premise of this movie being a worldwide calamity of werewolves. The werewolf offers the most interesting concept of a cursed person and not fully a monster. Sadly, werewolf movies often don't really live up to their potential.

The main reason you don't see a ton of werewolves is because they learned what caused it from the year prior which was the first year. There were less people going outside the current year. Now I do believe they should have taken more precaution as they know what causes it.

To be honest, as much as I adore the Wolfman, I prefer Werewolf of London starring Henry Hull (which I first saw back in the 1970s; a good time to see 1930s films), and I prefer The Howling to AAWIL.

I honestly enjoyed this movie, it's by no means a masterpiece like American Werewolf in London or Dog Soldiers, but it was fun. Simply put if Dog Soldiers is the werewolf equivalent to Aliens, Werewolves is the Werewolf equivalent to Carnosaur 2.

I agree its not the best movie but I did enjoy it for what it is, maybe if it had a bigger budget it might have been better but we rarely get werewolf movies. Right now I am not sold on the wolfman movie coming out it does not look good. So I can see any decent or good werewolf movie I can get. Ive read books on a scenario were they have a zombie like pandemic with werewolves but it would be awesome if studios did this premise on the big screen more often.

I know it's not a popular opinion but I saw it and loved the movie, yes it's a B movie but in my opinion it's a B+, if you grew up watching B movies you will love this movie , I recommend this movie and I appreciate the fact that the werewolves were not CGI. I understand the flaws and inconsistencies but it's a B movie and was good for what it was. I knew what I was in for when I went to see this movie and I still enjoyed it. I was excited to see a legit B action movie in theaters, hadn't seen one like that for a while. Anyways all that to say it's still worth watching if you like B movies. The low budget Indies are the life blood of the industry.

Two things. It's implied in the lab that some that got turned before are like junkies waiting for the day they can turn again. They said they could even sense the super moon coming. 2) There's one werewolf in his motorcycle vest and big earrings (lol) on where it looks like in human form he clearly must of wanted to turn on purpose leaving a bar. Like it had an attitude and everything. This movie has its moments. 😅

The trailer looked great, so I went to see it. I walked out about 2/3 the way through when the little girl yelled at her mom something like, "kick their asses." It was so dumb. Characters doing one dumb thing after another for no reason. I couldn't take the stupidity anymore. Also, the direction sucked so bad. One of the first shots establishes this takes place in Florida by starting on a FL license plate, then booming up to see the neighborhood, and there are mountains in the background. I mean, how bad can you be as a film maker?

Honestly I saw this movie.. And while it is apparent that the movie spent a lot of its budget on the practical suits... They really didn't spend it on anything else... at the detriment of the film. There are a lot of things that are just not explained very well... the rules of the werewolf virus isn't really explained.. you just kinda follow it and go... "Oh I guess this is how it works?" It was a cool premise, but I think they spent all their money on the suits... but It's clear that The rest of the story was hampered by it . And then it just kind of ends...

I love how people believe they could have made a better movie yet you never see these people write up a script and email it to the actors, producers, or studios. Making a war world z movies with werewolves would’ve been dull and the same critics would’ve found other criticisms. Because the stage was set for a global epidemic and Lou diamond philips character was working for a global initiative called moon screen that failed all over the world what we saw was playing out in this town was going on. This movie specifically focused on frank grillo’s character and his family. If someone else wanted to continue this into multiple movies like avatar where instead of using same characters you can use local actors and actresses for places all over the world during the same timeline. You could do one movie in Asia, one in Siberia, one in Mexico, etc. this movie showed how no one knew who was infected as that girl was home and someone in her family was infected as the werewolves were inside the house. People assume these came in outside but where was the girl’s mother? The movie starts with people all over the world being infected a year ago so outside of the supermoon they still appear human. No where in the movie did it imply that they knew who was infected. So while Marshall’s family wasn’t his neighbor got turned in the movie. To make this grandeos movie these people wanted would’ve needed higher budget and allot longer than an hour and a half when instead you can start small and with each movie expand, sort of like resident evil where it started underground then raccoon city then the world. Take new Star Wars trilogy. Like with marvel or the cw you had the multiverse so if you take the Star Wars trilogy with Rey as a multiverse situation outside of 4-6 then it isn’t so bad but if you consider it the same timeline then it sucks so regardless what Kathleen Kennedy intended the viewer does not have to correlate those movies with canon. The consumer can take from the movies what they will despite the limitations of production or insight. I don’t place movies in boxes like Jedi had narrow minded dogmatic view. I look at movies with an open mind and enjoy it not placing my prejudices on it. Movies like music is an artistic medium that one should appreciate all hard work put into it. People even said those new star wars movies could’ve survived without being associated with Star Wars. So while I agree 4-6 were best and Rey was Mary sue and purple haired admiral was too much the movie on its own wasn’t worst. I can separate reality from fantasy meaning subliminal messages don’t work on my mind. I find homosexuality disgusting but I loved the teen wolf series.

Just saw it in the theater for free. Hahaha, yeah I agree, I wanted to see year one of this. A massive werewolf transformation killing spree.This takes place where they are developing a cure for it. Seems like a sequel to me. The werewolf transformations were pretty cool. There was a werewolf movie I saw several years ago where there were good wolves and bad wolves, but it wasn't the whole population. I really like the idea of the super blood moon having the ability to affect anyone the moonbeam touches. Didn't like that they don't incorporate classic werewolf lore. Silver bullets kill! If you get scratched, bitten, or werewolf blood in your mouth or open wounds you turn into a werewolf. For a low budget tv movie creature feature, it's good in a cheesy, schlock, campy, kinda way. If the movie does well enough, maybe they'll have a bigger budget to do the origin story.

There was an alternate scene in 28 days later, where the supposed cure to the rage virus was a total blood transfusion from an non-infected person. But the scene was abandoned by the Director, Danny Boyle, whom deemed it was too implausible, because just one drop of infected blood could infect a new host body. So essentially, in Story canon, the rage virus was incurable. ;)

?? So your complaint is that it wasn't a big budget movie??? Do you know ONE other movie with three practical realistic werewolves onscreen at once? For a practical effects werewolf movie, three onscreen at once IS the same as a zombie horde. Roger Corman would have made him re-use the same werewolf costume over and over, but these are INDIVIDUAL werewolves, all of whom are based on the HUMAN characters they transformed from. This also negates your other complaint, that nobody is surprised about which werewolf they are killing. THEY ARE STILL DRESSED AS THEY WERE WHEN HUMAN. No offense, but these are YOUR mistakes, not the movie's.

Of course following the Hollywood trope the Werewolf is only a threat a) at nightfall and b) only three nights, four on the outside, per month. And a billion "infected" globally is still fewer than two in ten. A bigger threat was in Dante's The Howling where the werewolves transformed by choice (closer to European werewolf lore by the way) and the majority of the gated community were werewolves. Now THAT was a werewolf film.

I just watched it a few hours ago. The acting is OK. The cinematography is good. The special effects are pretty good. The premise is cool. As a matter of fact, the first 3-5 minutes makes you think this might be a really cool movie...then it gives you almost all the bad movie tropes and logical consistency of a sharknado movie. It's SOOO STUPID. I love werewolf movies but they made the writers of Morbius look like geniuses in comparison. The only thing that could have actually saved this movie is if they had taken jabs at it and made it a werewolf parody movie. Like a Scary Movie version of a werewolf movie. If it was intentionally poking fun at it's self, complete with 4th wall breaks and everything, that would have at least made it funny. Instead it's just CRINGE AF. This was the first movie we have seen in a long time that my wife and I nearly walked out on.

Hes a perfectly acceptable actor in the right roles. But he seems to be utterly trash at picking movies to work on. It seems like the only things he can get the lead in is low budget stuff from frankly amateurish directors. Look at his filmography, and its just miss after miss since he broke out around 2011.

I saw the trailer and have to say I disagree totally a this is not looking like a woke piece of crap as the majority of offerings and so just for that reason I would give it a six, the CGI looked great and the atmosphere was well done and the Werewolves looked great and scary, so what if you have seen a werewolf before, we have seen zombies by the millions as well and yet they can still be done well as many movies or TV shows have shown. There is no Zegler in this movie and that makes it worth another point as well as no Disney influences. We have to remember that what we see and like depends on our own situation, what scares you to what scares me is like chalk and cheese, I have a friend that is 6 foot 6 inches and yet show him a tiny spider and he almost dies, he would crash his car is a spider were to show up in his view in the car while driving. I on the other hand after many years of working on High rises and being on the outside of them as well as walking on planks up to hundred sof feet in the air or sitting on a bosons chair going up to paint the outside of a chimney stack, I now find since retiring that I can't handle heights and so would make sure I don't put myself in situations where I am near the edge of something tall :) From the look of you, I doubt that you get out and about very often and so sitting in your parents basement giving your opinion on a movie, doesn't really persuade me one way or the other as I am thinking the new Snow White is more your level of scary movie ;)
