29:58 I've listened to all your videos more than dozens of times each. I now put this series on auto play even when I sleep. I've never thought much about what Standish had to do in this scene. It just now hit me in a WHOLE different way. Last night when I was working on my family tree, working on my relation to the Pease line, I noticed a couple Reverends in the tree. So I kept digging. I found out, through the SAME branch I'm descended from Pease the imigrant, I'm ALSO descended from Myles Standish. I did NOT expect this. In hindsight, I wish I could meet Myles now to tell him that centuries after his death his progeny would produce at least 2 reverends. And from this line, Flora Mae Vinecore was a nurse serving in WWII. All the Vinecores were War heroes. Myles Standish may not have been perfect, but he left a legacy bigger than he could have ever imagined in his lifetime. My direct ancestry. The peninsula between the Weymouth Back River and Fore River, unless you meant more specifically than that. That's still too large an area for only 60 people after all. I remember reading the account of a Plymouth colonist lamenting that they hadn't scouted a bit further up the coast when they first arrived and settled there instead of Plymouth, or somewhere in greater Boston Harbor area in general. But I can't remember the source.

Wait a minute! This is a great podcast!!! However, please correct me if I'm wrong: I thought the Virginia Company of London was basically the southern Atlantic seaboard, and the Virginia Company of Plymouth was essentially in control of governmental authority and administration on the Northern Seaboard. Then, the Council for New England was established in 1620 with Sir Ferdinando Gorges and Judge Popham essentially being the shot callers. Now I thought the Mayflower pilgrims were under the auspices of the Virginia Company of London before they set sail. So, how could the Mayflower pilgrims be under the hegemony and guidance of the Virginia Company of London and be under the auspices of the Council for New England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Simultaneously??? From my perspective, Sir Ferdinando Gorges should have rightfully been in charge of the whole of English North American Colonies because he prevented Spain 🇪🇸 from executing a second Armada attack upon England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 at the Battle of Cadiz, Spain!!!

@TonyaTNT Judge Popham died immediately after the 1607 voyage to settle Maine (fort george/Popham colony) So the judge couldn’t have had anything to do with the Council of New England in 1620. The mayflower pilgrims were under the Virginia Company of Plymouth. VCP’s charter was revived and reorganized in 1620 under the new name “Plymouth council of New England”.
