Thank you, this is amazing. I play piano and guitar, and the comparison between methods of learning a difficult piano piece and an efficient jumping motion was very useful for me. It is a very important concept to know. I will be sure to remember it!

How come I didn't know this channel sooner? Growing up, I have watched legendary dunkers like T-Dub, AirUpThere, Remix, etc. and now I have been following contents from Isaiah Rivera, Jordan Kilganon, Jonathan Clark, etc. but they don't break down vertical jump into science the way this channel does! Momentum, force production and absorption, the reason why tendon stiffness is good, ground contact time, and the best part is that all of these theories are explained through experiments with objects like the stick and rubber band testing. Those examples really made it clear as to how physics work in a vertical jump for maximal gains!

Hi, I am a student in university and I have been playing basketball for years. I am able to touch the rim consistently but just unable to dunk. I would like to do your training and hopefully be able to dunk by June in 2024. I noticed a thing when I jump which is that I jump higher when I try to run and jump using left leg. When I jump with two legs and also using left leg as last contact, I am significantly lower, is this because my tendon on my left leg is not strong enough? I'm also not sure if this training is suitable for basketball players?
@hoshitore11 ай бұрын
Hello. Please tell me more about your question. When you jump from running with only your left foot, you can jump high, but If I jump with both feet from running (my left foot is the last contact), does that mean I can't jump higher? Does this mean that it is easier to jump with one leg with the left foot?
@sy020511 ай бұрын
@@hoshitorethx for the reply. I mean I jump higher with one leg compare to two legs. And I normally jump with my left leg when I jump with one leg. I wanted to know if this training will help me in basketball and is it recommended to jump with two legs?
@hoshitore11 ай бұрын
@@sy0205 I understand! Let's talk about double-legged jumping and whether it's effective for basketball as well. The reason you jump higher with one leg than with both legs is not because your left leg is weak. Because you don't have the skills to jump with both feet. In other words, if you hone your skills, you should be able to jump higher than your current single-leg jump height. Of course, the training menu introduced here is also effective, but I think that focusing on skill training will improve your jumping ability in a short period of time. This training is also effective for basketball players. Basically, if you do similar training, your jumping power will improve. However, this training menu focuses only on two-legged jumps from the run-up. Basketball requires a variety of jumping abilities, so it is necessary to clarify what kind of jumping ability you want to train and adjust your training menu. You can understand more about Jump by watching all three videos below, so please watch them all, even though they are a bit long. I would also like you to devise a training menu. I wish you the best! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWjdnqdpjdmgf8U kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4vXlaKwrquNr5o kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIHGgIZjopece6s

Thank you sir. I have a question, though. Sometimes i feel that people improve faster when they train their technique with heavy load right away so their body adapts faster. To fail going too fast or improve slowly going too slow....which is more efficient for improving over time? What do you think?
@hoshitore11 ай бұрын
It is difficult to say exactly what intensity is best, as it varies depending on each person's ability and what they are learning. However, I believe that it is best to use as heavy a load as possible within the range that can be done correctly. If the load is too strong and you cannot perform the movements correctly, I think the training effect will be diminished. It is not easy to find the best intensity for yourself, but I hope you will try to increase the intensity as much as possible while managing your physical condition and being able to perform the correct movements.

@@hoshitore I would like to ask what causes the jump not to be high and what muscles need to be trained when using heavy weights HELP ME!!!
@hoshitore11 ай бұрын
@@mohdhelmi2716 I won't know if there's a problem with your jumping form or with your training method until I see it. It might be a good idea to take a photo of your jumping form or training form and try to find out where the problem is. When training with heavy weights, it is best to primarily train the buttocks and thighs. When training your lower legs, it's easier to improve your jumping power by doing things like ankle jumps and side steps. I wish you the best!
