Can you elaborate? Been eating oats every day for the past 10 years, are you sure it was the oats?

Thank you for that video. I was born in Franken where outmeal is a staple diet for children and some adults. The Romans reported that we are primitive because we ate the same food as our horses. - That changed when the Romans lost the battle in the Teutoburger Wald or Forrest, They returned 2 years later, not to fight again but to bury their dead and horses. Central Europa was free of the Romans. It is recorded that the Roman emperor run against a wall crying: "Herman give me back my legions!" (A legion consisted of 6 ooo men.) It is recorded that the Germanic fighters ate a bowl of oats before battle for extra strength and courage. - I believe some Scotts might still do it when tossing the caper, which is a tree trunk! Horses can get very frisky when fed too much oats. - Forget bacon and eggs for breakfast and have oats instead!

What an interesting bit of history! Oats have certainly stood the test of time as a nutritious and energizing food. It's fascinating to hear how they played a role in Germanic traditions and battles, as well as being a staple for both people and horses. And you're right-starting the day with oats is a great alternative to heavier breakfasts like bacon and eggs. Thanks for sharing this piece of history and wisdom!
