I don't get those people that complain about living alone at 18/19. It's entitled and seeking sympathy. Wait till you're older, married (with or without kids), you'll want more space. Congratulations! Here’s my tip for keeping leafy herbs fresh: put them in a glass of water like fresh flowers in a vase. Keep it on your counter. They’re handy to use all week, and having them out where you see them makes it easier to remember them, and they look and smell nice!

Tempeh is amazing tossed in gochujang, rice vinegar, a touch of tamari, & sesame oil & bake on parchment paper lined baking tray-or crumbled into pasta sauce. So versatile. I hope it’s better this time. Happiness in your new home!

Just an idea for Tempeh/Tempe, I reccomend you to buy natural flavor (without marination) and look up some Indonesian recipes for tempe dishes. Indonesian has the most variation when it comes to tempe dishes since tempe is originaly from Indonesia. I'm sure you will get a lot of inspirations about tempe from Indonesian people. Good luck!

For the french press - you need to grind the coffee not so fine, more so on the coarse side. So its in bigger pieces - sorry, not english. :) Thats how the flavour comes, if its so fine, its going to be blend.

Gratuliere zur ersten eigenen Wohnung ☺️ also bei der french press ist es a) wichtig das Wasser nicht zu heiß zu kochen b) die genaue Menge Kaffee hinzuzufügen und c) guten Kaffee zu verwenden. Ich kann den Lavazza rosso sehr empfehlen schmeckt ein bisschen nach Schoko 😻

You should look into hand filtered coffee. Buy a basic hand grinder, then you can enjoy freshly ground delicious coffee. It looks like you are in a bigger city, search for a place that offers Specialty Coffee. p.s. In my opinion, good coffee tastes fruity and fresh, not bitter and boring.

i didn't like tempeh for the longest time, still not my fave. But, one thing I really do like is smoked maple 'bacon' tempeh, its really very good, and because its sliced very thinly i think is nicer for those of us who aren't big fans. Apparently it's also good to give it a bit of blanche in boiling water first, I don't know how much of a difference that really makes, but i do that now as a precaution. 4 Tbsp tamari/soy, 2 Tbsp maple, 2 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp each vegan Worcester (optional), liquid smoke, garlic powder. optional pepper, chili, cayenne. Marinate thin slices of tempeh and then fry or bake.

I’ll share with you my way to like tempeh ;) I think the most important thing is to cook it, not fry it at first. Cook, then fry. It becomes a bit softer and way less sour. And the best tempeh you can buy at Turkish or Middle East stores. The regular I bought in my local store has completely different taste.

I haven't thought of adding Kimchi in a wrap🤤thanks for the inspiration! Also in case you haven't tried 쌈장(ssamjang), I highly recommend it as a Korean. It's famous Korean fermented sauce which tastes between gochujang and dwanjang. You might love 쌈장 taste. Something to try when you go to Asia mart. Cheers!

Two tips regarding Tempeh: 1. In the Asian supermarket you might have found twice as much tempeh for half the price. 2. If you dislike it because of its bitterness, I found that cooking it for a while before preparing/marinating it takes away most of the bitterness! Also, I don't know if you like spicy food, but if yes: if your Asian supermarket has the samyang "chicken" flavour dumplings, they are actually vegan! They are quite spicy, but so good!
