★ GET OUR GF VEGAN RECIPE EBOOK 70+ RECIPES!: bit.ly/33mRYst
Hey guys, Erin here! Join me as I take you through my Saturday-style What I Eat In A Day. I love the plant-based lifestyle because it's cruelty-free, better for the environment, and does wonders for my body! I typically eat about 90% raw, and incorporate some cooked foods at dinnertime. In the foodie community, this eating style is known as "Raw 'til Four." Today's abundance included fresh-squeezed Valencia orange juice and my Lean Green Protein Smoothie for breakfast/pre-workout, a mixed berry bowl snack, my Raw Rainbow Fiesta Salad for lunch, a citrus snack pre-dinner, consisting of navel and Cara Cara oranges, and some leftover SuperBowl Fiesta Salad with brown rice, diced sweet potatoes, and steamed broccoli for dinner. I don't typically eat sweets after dinner, but because it was a Saturday, I made some Cacao Banana Nice Cream as a late-night snack! I hope this gives you a good idea of how to incorporate more plant-powered goodness into your diet!

Early in 2015 I quit sugar, meat and dairy...started to feel great...then started feeling really (REALLY) ill...turns out I had cancer. Was super nauseous for (many) months...lost more than 33 kgs (over 5 stone)...couldn't eat properly for 11 or 12 months...became really 'scrawny'...oncologists, doctors and dietitians were so concerned that I was losing so much weight which would make it much harder to endure chemo, radiation etc...my whole system took such a huge flogging from the cancer AND the treatment...they said "eat anything, just get some food, any food, in!"...I beat the cancer (go me!) but unfortunately got back on meat, dairy and sugar! Scheech! It's now 15 months since treatment and I'm feeling so crappy because I haven't gotten myself back on track nutritionally. So...I just want to thank you BIG TIME for your videos...they are superbly done ...really classy!...but they also remind me that I LOVE healthy food and that transitioning is not hard...in fact when you explore all the healthy food options you (at least I) never feel deprived...but instead feel BRILLIANT! Feel like I want to cry because I've let my body down for so many months considering how much it had to endure with cancer and cancer treatment...you've fully inspired me to ditch any and all junk, meat, sugar and processed crap and to live a super healthy lifestyle again...HUGE THANK YOU!...keep up the great work and keep hitting home runs with your fab videos...I don't subscribe easily but I had no hesitation subscribing to your channel...love that even your dog Beau loves carrots...what a cute family you guys are! xo

Thanks for the reply...as for the 'kind words'..just speakin' it like it is!...your videos are excellent....and your advice and tips are real and super usable. I don't think I'll need much to stay motivated...feeling good and working at getting and staying healthy is my motivation...I've beaten cancer once and honestly I don't want to have to go there again! As for any types of videos?...would love some pointers about healthy dressings for salads and perhaps healthy vegan 'gravy' for roasted veggies? Anyhow, no pressure and thanks again heaps for your channel...you guys are delightful!

This was the cutest 'what I eat in a day' video I have ever watched. I loved the background music, the way you showed how to prepare the dishes, and the adorable 'plant-based cast' at the end (including the total caloric consumption was pretty helpful as well).

I'm turning vegan next week. I'm listing down recipes which will result in faster weight loss like a plant based raw vegan diet. Not just for me, I just love animals in general. But didnt have time to do it sooner. So this week as my last week eating meat, I'm listing recipes and currently on a no carb diet which made me lose 2 kilos in over a week. But I can't wait to go vegan and try these recipes. With added excersise. And make myself and the world better. Love ya! -Bella

Your best vid to date!! I have been eating Raw til 4 style for a few months now and love it. Interesting that you guys eat fruit after your cooked meal. I always hear that this will result in digestion issues but if it works for you, I may try as well especially on the evenings when I'm craving dessert!🍌🍨

Jennifer Krout glad you noticed the nice cream "dessert!" I was wondering if someone would ask! No we typically do not eat fruit or sweets after dinner, but it was a late night and it had been about 3 hours since dinner and sometimes we just like to indulge and have a little fun! I think it does depend on the person, too, as to how well their bodies will take it! I usually don't feel bad at all if I eat a little bit from time to time! 🙌🏻😊

Loved this video! How do you feel about combining fruits and vegetables? I've also heard that it may slow down digestion. Any thoughts on that?
@EatMoveRest
@EatMoveRest 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Shelly! Good question! From what I've read and experienced with proper food combining is that fruits (if eaten with veggies) are best when paired with soft, leafy green vegetables like romaine, spinach, etc. I haven't really experienced any problems with combining other veggies with some fruits, but I think it all depends on the individual and how well their digestive system is able to handle it! I say just experiment and find what works best for you! Also, fruits and fats don't typically mix well, but every once in a while we put just a bit of mango or pineapple on our big green salads topped with guac and it seems to make us feel just fine! Again, just another trial and error instance. I'm working on putting together a raw food combining document for optimal absorption and digestion, so stay tuned for that! 😊

Hi been doing raw vegan 5 days now and haven't lost anything it's so disappointing i don't know i feel great. Lots of gas and #2 lol but i need to lose weight. Do i need to lesson my fruit intake? I lowered my fat intake or im trying its tough . I don't know if i should just go back to cooked food or hang in there 2 more weeks? I really love to pick up this way of eating but idk i need more education on it lol
@EatMoveRest
@EatMoveRest 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer, it is important to know what you're doing. The gas and #2 is normal and healthy! I say keep it up. Add in cooked food if you want. Beans grains and potatoes. The best way to lose is to make sure your in a calorie deficit. Look up a calorie needs calculator and stay under your daily needs to lose weight

I want to go on a Raw till 4 diet but I don't know if I should buy organic fruits and vegetables. Is conventional okay or is it better to buy them all organic?
@EatMoveRest
@EatMoveRest 7 жыл бұрын
I would be lying if I didn't tell you that I believe organic is best. That being said, "best" can be the enemy of "better." If buying organic is too expensive and/or unavailable, and it keeps you from eating more fruits and veggies, then by all means opt for conventional! Definitely check out the "Dirty Dozen Clean 15" list to see which produce has the most/least pesticide residue to help you choose wisely! The benefits of the antioxidants and phytonutrients in conventional produce most likely outweighs any potential harmful risks associated with pesticides! Hope this helps!👍🏻🌿

Hi there. Hope u can help me.. I lost 75 pounds when I was younger and I kept it off a while, I did a vegetarian style but ate egg whites. Cooked with applesauce and that type of things. But I gained now I am 53 and I tried a keto diet thinking that may be easier since everything in stores are more low sugar and tons of fat! Ugh it was hard to switch the kind to eat high fat.. and low sugar. Well now I still hadn’t lost the weight. So I am thinking of going back to a lower fats and do vegan or vegetarian, but I remember like here in order to do that we are eating a lot of sugars. Even if it is in fruits, they say that at my age u have to watch sugar intake. Do u know anyone in there 50’s that was able to lose weight doing this way? Or am I needing to basically eat just veggies? I love fruit but got scared of them after all the low carb craze. Even though it didn’t seem to do anything to me but get confused on what to eat. I exercise and love to do that. So can u point me in the correct direction? I went to the link for your meal preps but I can’t afford anything more right now. Just a bit Of advice and what do u think about the sugar thing?

Hi , I tried the starch solution. But that was a disaster for my body, than I tried hclf but that is so wrong for my hormones. I also want tho lose more of 20 kg. So I tried lot of fruits and veggie but no weight loss. Than I went to a nutrion. I did a protein/keto diet with products. No animal prod. I lost 23 kgs. Now it is surching how to eat. When I eat one pasta or carbs my body is going crazy . I also don't digest chickpeas lentils soya or gluten. So it is not easy. I am gonna try a keto again for 4 weaks with healthy vegan food. Afterwards I slowly eat more fruit. But in combination with working out. Every body is different and it is not easy to find a way that works. I love this channel. It is inspiring❤. Good Luck to find your own balanced way

From my own personal experience, eating raw/vegan isn't that significantly more expensive than not. The big factor has got to be convenience though. You have trouble going out for meals with friends, trying to find options when you've forgotten lunch at home. Preparation is a huge thing too, it's a pain in the ass to do everything from scratch every single time. The first 2 years I went vegan I just ate fruit that didnt require any effort (bad idea btw you need a lot more vitamins and nutrients than that).

Have you used Cronometer.com? It definitely looks like you had a wide variety of plant foods today, but you can always see if you've missed any vitamins or minerals by using Cron-O-Meter. It's free!

Tyler Livingston totally! We always use Cronometer when in doubt! It definitely comes in handy especially for watching fat intake! I've plugged in some of my standard meal days and they look pretty solid! ...besides needing a B12 supplement of course! But we use a lot of nutritional yeast for that!

Did any of the ingredients in the smoothie have fat, or was the avocado the only source of fat?

Patricia Orsborn hemp chia flax in the smoothie, plus small amounts of fat in fruits and veg and things like cacao, total was about 15% fat for the day!

I enjoy moringa everyday, it is a great boost to the immune system! I like to wash my orange peels, dry them, and then blend them up and use the peel powder as a source of hesperidin! Go organic if you can afford it! I also prefer sunflower seeds that are hulled as my favorite source of fat, well that and raw grass fed butter, polar power salmon oil , and cold pressed organic coconut oil.

KB Anthis sounds like you're into the superfoods! Moringa is one of my favorites! Try flax seeds for the highest plant-based source of healthy omega-3 fatty acids! Blend whole seeds into your smoothies...then there's no need for butter or oils!👌💚

As a man I am staying away from flax seeds my friend, as I need to boost testosterone. Now if I were a woman I would use flax. I even have some here. I am going to use chia seeds instead though as a man. Natural butter has over 400 fatty acids that are ideally tailored for human consumption. Human beings have to get EPA and DHA in the diet. Until we can genetically modify plants to contain animal proteins and fats, we must get these from our diet.

@EatMoveRest
@EatMoveRest 6 жыл бұрын
Day to day I get about 2,500 calories! You can definitely get your weight up in a healthy way on a vegan lifestyle! There are many calorie dense foods that are also nourishing like hearty whole grains, beans, legumes and healthy fats like avocado, for starters! Smoothies are my favorite way to get a delicious calorie dense meal!

Cost really depends on a number of factors-how much produce you buy, if you buy organic, how active you are, and how many mouths you’re feeding! I try to buy mostly produce for the two of us and always organic! It can get pricey but it’s worth it to us! Just do what you can within your budget, and if you’re looking to save, stock up on bulk whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, and buy produce in bulk or frozen!

Just discovered your channel. Content is great... however, for anyone to actually follow through and begin implementing the meals the videos aren’t very useful unless they’re writing everything out. I saw you had a blog, but the blog seemed to be over saturated with pictures... aesthetic, yes. Useful... not so much. Suggestion for your blog - Your videos, in text format that are easy to implement. Meals. Shopping lists Recipes.

Ugh raw till 4👎🏼 why be followers? I respect self empowerment, authorship of ones own life, thinking for yourself... plus promoting Ratcliffe puts people off. You don’t eat the stem⁉️ it’s the sweetest best part... also the green part of the avocado just inside of the skin, is the most nutritious part you just threw away. You do you. Wait... no beans or lentils? Not even sprouts? No flax, supplements or sunflower seeds? How did u meet ur daily needs for vitamin E, B12, Zinc, Calcium, D3, Selenium, Iodine, DHA EPA? Please share your cronometer for this day thanks!!
