I was pleasantly surprising with transitioning into IF. I’m only on my first week but I thought it would be difficult and I would be so hungry. But it wasn’t hard AT ALL. I’m not a big early breakfast eater, so perhaps that’s why. Eating from 12-8 has been very easy. I thought I would miss snacking at night. Nope. Just goes to show it was driven by habit or boredom. I also consume more water/herbal tea throughout my fasting time, which has increased my liquid increase overall. So far I am enjoying the transition.

@@proxycandice Intermittent fasting is best for weight loss, I'm not sure how it helps with muscle gain besides lowering your fat. I think the best thing for muscle gain is to just make sure you eat enough protein. And to know your body type (endo, ecto, meso) so you can eat according to that.

Awesome 👏 job! I’m 50 yes old. My Tuesday-Saturday work schedule is pretty crazy 🤪 I wake up at 2am…have a protein shake & get home after work by 12pm; sometimes 3pm. I eat anywhere between 3-5pm & go to bed by 6pm to try get some sleep (doesn’t always happen 😴) I just bumped into your videos and really want to start working out, but I’m not understanding this thing about fasting with my schedule. Could you tell me what you recommend for me?
@growwithjo3 жыл бұрын
You are incredible!! So with fasting you essentially set up an eating time and fasting window! I would recommend starting your "fasting window" after your last meal of the day and finishing the window right before you have your first meal of the day!
@hylianflower9681 Жыл бұрын
I am going to do this. Got some days scheduled cuz i read to only do it for 2 days, but i want to do it 4 days a week. I realized this may be how i stayed so athletic and skinny in high school, because i never snacked after dinner and skipped breakfast half the week. My mom told me i was anorexic (once i hit puberty i looked REALLY good) and basically guilted me into eating a ton more and i heavily blame her for forcing me to eat more than i needed. She would always comment, say like i needed seconds and my bones were showing and i should be insecure for the way i looked. So, to appease her, i ate more than i needed. When i look back at pictures of me, i was NOT skinny, i was athletic and healthy. I think she subconciously became jealous and created a delusion for me to gain weight. She is really a great mom otherwise, and now she is trying to gently help me lose weight, but i think she had a moment of weakness when i was younger and wanted me to look like something else.

SO what if I wake up with hunger pangs? Should I still wait to eat at 1PM? Sometimes I wake up because I'm hungry and I honestly try to be mindful what I eat when this happens. I know my eating schedule varies drastically everyday. I know I need to work on that. It's difficult, perhaps the most challenging for me. consistently working out is the only consistent thing going on in my life.

Jo thank you so much for making your channel and sharing so many great videos. I'm going to start trying the 16/8. After hearing how your body goes into fat burning mode 12 hours after you eat, I want to try it again. Just knowing that makes me feel motivated to not eat after until giving it time to burn after the 12 hour window has passed. I love that it is not a diet too!!! I've been trying intuitive eating but struggling to keep my size of my meal at night small. I've been doing something that says make all your meals the size of a loosely held fist but have been struggling to do that at night especially. I'm going to watch your videos to see you meal sizes but any suggestions you be welcome.
