Sasuke literally went from being no diffed by Lee (who trained for his speed for years) to surpassing Lee and wrecking non-jinchuuriki mode Gaara in less than a month with Kakashi’s training in the chuunin exams. I always wondered how much more he could progress with Kakashi but now that you mention it, he didn’t progress that much just because of Kakashi, he progressed because he is a genius, so going to Orochimaru for the most power gain makes sense. There’s just something very interesting about pre-war arc level shippuuden regarding training, skill and fights.

Truth is, Sasuke wouldn’t just learn Sharingan and Lightning jutsu’s from Kakashi if he stayed in the village. He would have learnt & copied hundreds of jutsu. Sasuke’s problem lied in the fact that he was impatient for power. He mastered Chidori, used it against Itachi while blinded by the height of his rage, failed & gave up on Kakashi altogether. Not giving Kakashi the time to ease in & teach him a wealth of new powerful jutsu. He then sought out Orochimaru to perfect Curse marks level 1 & 2, master shape manipulation to l supplement the potency of his nature affinities and master Kenjutsu/Taijustu. But tell me, where did that get him when Itachi robbed him of the Curse mark? That’s right, he was reduced to Fire, Lightning and luckily a new Mangekyo. Completely devaluing the intent behind his time-skip training with Orochimaru. However, if he stayed in the village with Kakashi, he would have remained powerful & calculated throughout, in addition to mastering everything he did in the time-skip (minus the Curse mark which would have been compensated by plenty of powerful techniques & jutsu)

Honestly I'd just like to see someone who can use the gates ( at least 4-7 gates) AND have jutsus/chakra. NGL seeing Sasuke use 3-5 gates on top of chidori and some fat fireballs ( like Madara majestic flame destroyer sized) would be sick. Then again other characters with the gates would be dope too. This. Kakashi only had interests in training Sasuke properly, but still couldn't instill a positive mindset into Sasuke because of his detached demeanor. Anyone with a conscience would've kept close surveillance on Sasuke after how badly his mental health declined after his fight against Itachi, teacher or not. AND Sasuke had a Curse Mark, which already puts Orochimaru within reach of Sasuke. With how everything went down, it's weird how they let Sasuke end up the way he did. Though seeing how Naruto was treated, it's not that surprising.

@@inplane9970​​⁠ Lying? He did instill a positive mindset in Sasuke. Before Sasuke met Kakashi, he was a lone wolf who had a tendency to handle obstacles alone. That changed after some time, to a point where even after Sasuke defected Konoha, he made sure to put Kakashi’s teachings of teamwork into practice to realize his goals, hence the formation of Hebi, then Taka. Kakashi couldn’t keep a proper eye on Sasuke after his encounter with Itachi in part 1, because Tsunade immediately assigned him on missions after he awoke from Tsukuyomi coma. But before attending said mission, he prioritized Sasuke’s mental welfare above it. Making sure to positively lecture Sasuke in the forest, which resulted in Sasuk being torn between staying in Konoha or defecting it from night till day. The sound four captailized on Kakashi’s absence and launched their attack on Sasuke, but that wasn’t a result of Kakashi being negligent, it was a result of him tending to his duties as a ninja.

@@EternalBrightness3 Working as a team is less on Kakashi and more on Sasuke's instincts on using people to his advantage. He used Orochimaru as a power up, then killed him. He used Karin as a diversion, and then didn't hesitate to kill her. He even abandoned Jugo and Suigetsu up until the Hokage Revival arc because they were the closest connections to Orochimaru. Heck, his motive to work with Naruto and Sakura during the final arc is to get rid of all obstacles so he can kill Naruto. If that's Kakashi's teachings, then he did an awful job. And it's not like Kakashi is some random guy seeking help. He has connections to the entirety of ANBU and is trusted amongst the Jonin. He can easily set up multiple squads to keep eyes over Sasuke. Not expecting Orochimaru to make a move on Sasuke after he explicitly stated he wanted Sasuke's body is just odd.

@@newlife6265 Naruto was weak becoz their entire training trip was focused on mastering kuramas chakra which was failed royally and only led to Naruto being even more of a liability than before (Tsunade deployed yamato becoz Naruto was losing control everytime he was in battle). Obviously him training with sasuke would be his training on becoming stronger with his own strength than relying on nine tails which Naruto won't even master until war arc. Sasuke tho would definitely be bit weaker than cannon since he won't master his curse mark and won't get snake summoning (may get toads instead). He would still likely create Kirin tho. Hell Sasuke might just put kurama into genjutsu everytime they needed Naruto to use kuramas chakra.

I think he would’ve improved about the same regardless. It would’ve probably helped Kakashi as well. The main things Sasuke got from orochimaru was summonings and the curse mark(which he already had prior to leaving konoha) other than that it’s not really clear what he learned specifically from Orochimaru. The summonings and absorbing Orochimaru is a big deal tho. I think he would’ve gotten to the level he was prior to absorbing Orochimaru under kakashi but the boost he got from absorbing Orochimaru is 100% necessary Kakashi stylistically makes more sense for Sasuke to train under and would’ve made him more versatile if he wanted to be but more than likely Kakashi would’ve trained him to be even better what he’s naturally good with and that’s fire and lightning. Training with Kakashi could’ve made Sasuke sharingan even sharper(help kakashi as well and bounce Chidori ideas off of each as we see both of them developed a lot Chidori varients. Kakashi had the beast, the lightning cable, used it to neutralize other lightning attacks against him. Idk if Kakashi would waste time teaching him other elements because that’s not his style. He more so focuses on strengths and makes them stronger.

I always envisioned a Konoha Sasuke really honing in on being a well-rounded ninja like Kakashi, excelling in the basic jutsu (Nin, Tai, Gen). I see him developing a secondary rivalry and respect for Rock Lee (mirroring Gai and Kakashi). No weapons, just hands. Also I figure he would be one of the few of the Konoha 12 to be a jonin. Even a jonin sensei (if I'm being fanfic-y). Essentially just a Sasuke who mirrored his path during the Chunin Exam era. Heavy taijutsu user, vast/varied ninjutsu, solid genjutsu.

Sasuke was a black hole for the story. Absolutely everything revolved around him. Had he stayed, we could have been spared hundreds of chapters saving Sasuke and focus on other things in the world. Better world building, more interesting conflicts.

Honestly, he’d be about the same stat wise minus the curse mark training. He’d be a bit more versatile overall. Kakashi would teach him different chakra natures, and teach him how to use the gates to increase his base. Sasuke would receive training on his sharingan, learning to copy more abilities, and overall just increasing the effectiveness of his three tomoe sharingan. Remember, he’d probably be going on missions often which also would be a form of training as well. He’d still learn his chidori variants, if not more since Kakashi would be guiding him and feeding him ideas, given he developed variants as well. It’s iffy on whether he’d have Kirin or not, but considering he only uses it during one fight in the manga, Kirin isn’t really that important overall-despite it being his strongest jutsu. More than likely though, Kakashi would help him develop a rasenshuriken-level jutsu. possibly a real rasengan lightning variant, and not a failed version. Last, Kakashi would as you said teach Sasuke about the mangekyo. This would more-so be more useful during his fight with Itachi. Kakashi may not have as much knowledge on forbidden jutsu, or some other things like Oro but Kakashi still has a LOT of knowledge and experience.

Remember, the entire reason that encounter with Itachi happened was because a random Jonin walked in at the wrong time to dump a bunch of exposition in front of Sasuke while visiting Kakashi. So basically, the plot of Shippuden was the result of one gigantic “oops”.

I could honestly see Sasuke being smart enough to get training from both sides LOL think about it. First, training with Kakashi for a year and a half possibly learning water or earth style, all the Chidori variations, and to surprise Naruto, Rasengan since Kakashi knows it too. After some convincing and getting the okay from Tsunade, Sasuke could seek Orochimaru out which won't be hard with Kabuto around. He'll basically tell Orochimaru that he wanted to gain every ounce of power from Konoha and shows him the Rasengan. Orochi being hungry for an Uchiha body would gladly train him but be way more cautious.

It's hard to consider Kakashi to be the better teacher to help you achieve ur goal of killing your brother when Kakashi had just been cucked by said brother Itachi. At least the power Orochimaru gave Sasuke was highly noticeable and Orochimaru had Kage Killer on his resume. Sasuke is literally what pushed Naruto and Sakura to get much stronger than they would have had he stayed. Sasuke starts out Shipuuden strong enough to be a Kage much like Gaara. That's likely not happening with Kakashi as his primary teach as Kakashi at that point in time wasn't even that level himself. And I think in order for Sasuke to become much more powerful, he'd need someone much more powerful to train him to reach his full potential. That obviously wasn't Kakashi. Despite their similarities Kakashi saw Neji and felt like Sasuke wouldn't be able to reach his level. Orochimaru shows up and after fighting Sasuke, not too long after he reaches then surpasses Neji's level. Kakashi would limit Sasuke and all of team 7 would be weaker as a result. Meaning they'd be screwed later on in Shipuuden especially when it came to taking on the god like characters that appeared from and after Pain.

Ironic you say that when Orochimaru was cucked by a base Itachi Genjutsu in seconds. At least Kakashi put up a fight & was considered threatening enough for Itachi to bring out the MS. Also, Sasuke had more potential than Kakashi due to his Uchiha heritage. Meaning Kakashi would have been hammering the immense knowledge & jutsu he aquired along the years into a ninja better equipped to use them due to his enormous chakra reserves (Sasuke) as well providing him the necessary Sharingan training to overcome Itachi, or better yet teaming-up with him for an ensured victory.

Even Kakashi was aware Orochimaru was vastly more powerful than him. Both were vastly weaker than Itachi. If Kakashi teamed up with Sasuke to defeat him and Itachi actually wanted them dead, then they'd both die. Even sick, itachi was too far above both of them. I like Kakashi as a character, he's awesome but at the end of the day there are also a number of restrictions Kakashi would put on Sasuke's training which Orochimaru obviously didn't despite him being really intelligent and being a Sharingan user himself.

Only thing Orochi that puts him over kakashi is being absorbed and giving all those small passive bonuses to Sasuke which is what allowed him to survive with less plot armor. The TRUE reason Kishi got rid of orochi is because once Sasuke unlocks Mangekyou, his chakra level will grow dramatically thus enabling Sasuke to spam Orochimarus snake shed techniques thus making him virtually unkillable. Can’t have Sasuke THAT op. That’s why the author refuse to give him clone jutsu too. So I always laugh when haters say Sasuke got plot armor but in reality it’s only to protect everyone from Sasuke.

Kakashi would be the one to become a lot stronger if Sasuke stayed. To be honest, I can't see Kakashi being th perfect master for Sasuke, he could train him for ANBU operations (give him experience of war and assassination as well as the training to make him faster, stealthier and etc.), but that would be it. Sasuke could learn the 8 gates, Kage bunshin, more chackra natures alongside some useful situational jutsus, but that wouldn't be good for the series. Another thing about it is that the only way for Sasuke to stay was if both he and Naruto became wiser and gained some maturity, Naruto stopped beign the selfish hypocrite and for once understand the people will suffer differently and he was the one pushing Sasuke away, and Sasuke getting the trust he was seeking, knowing his team had his back and they will do a btter job than him alone. That being said, Orochimaru wasn't a better teacher, but it was a better environment. Smart and creative people have their epiphany alone, but need a team to make it perfect. The way I see it, Orochimaru was the most suited person to teach Sasuke about Sharingan, better than Kakashi, but that was the only thing Orochimaru personally teach to Sasuke... Maybe the Snakes, or that could be Kabuto as well as the drugs. But his techniques and ideas would be developed alone and in secret. Orochimaru could know about Kirin and show the missing pieces, but I bet it was 80% Sasuke ans 20% Orochi on how he developed that jutsu, something like "Kakashi cut a Lightning with this just, could I do that as wel-- wait... How can I gat a lighting to test-- If I could summon a lightning-- maybe I can, but... How...". But idk, If the series was named Sasuke, maybe he could become more mentally stable and learned 8 gates, Kage Bunshin, Sage more and the whole plot would be about Danzo trying to get Sasuke.

I feel like Kakashi might have taught Sasuke how to open the eight gates so temporarily he would be able to far exceed the canon Sasuke with even the second gate. As far as the jutsu variety goes I feel like he would be taught way more options by staying in the leaf village. Raw power isn't everything, he might not have any jutsu as hard hitting as Kirin but I feel he would be overall better fighter, especially training with Naruto whose fighting style up to about midway point of shippuden is to "Keep taking hits until the other side falls" which would likely help Sasuke with endurance - not necesarility increasing his stamina but helping him pace his fights better. Versatility is one of the most important factor in fight when all else is relative, I know Bleach gets ragged on when the fights devolved into "Who can pull out more secret aces" but that's actually smart fighting looks like. The less information (or even better the more missinformation) your enemy has about you the higher the chances of your survival. Realistically Orochimaru's Sasuke had 2 or 3 fire jutsu, few variations of Chidori, and his sharingan genjutsu, Kirin is too situational to be useful in unplanned fight. Kakashi's Sasuke would have way more than that I feel. (What I mean with Naruto - The mist village trio in the forest of death, Kiba (even though that was cut short by the fart), He beat Neji because after the last clash he was too spent to be able to dodge. Haku, Sasuke in the valley of the end, Kabuto)

Well, he wouldn't have had Kirin and his chakra reserves probably would've been less, but his other capabilities may have been fine and he'd probably have a better temperament and be able to handle emotional situations a bit better. Maybe he would've come to terms with his anger and sadness and learned to face things head on without losing himself to his anger. He was pretty stoic a lot of the time after his training with Orochimaru, but it was in an uncaring way, and when he cared he'd be rife with anger, so not really in control the way Kakashi could teach him to be. Sure, there is some benefit to utilizing your emotions, but I think the clear head that Kakashi would've taught Sasuke to have would've been very effective.

Kakashi would have had better results. Remember that Orochimaru didnt actually care about Sasuke's training. He just wanted to keep him around and get him ready to become his vessel. In fact, Orochimaru wanted to make sure that Sasuke doesnt surpass him in the 3 year time needed for him to get his body so that he could still do it. He probably just made Sasuke think he is trying to help him by teaching him stuff to the point that Sasuke realised that and started developing chidori variants by himself. Tbh, the whole anime IS about Sasuke, he is a Seinen character stuck into a Shounen manga, he got a lot of development and weight on how he thinks and acts. If Naruto wasn't such a selfish hypocrite, the story would be a lot smoother and Sasuke would've be seen as a "better character" in many people's eye's. But is exactly that what makes him interesting... Flaws, mistakes, dilemas. You may not agree with how Sasuke thinks, but you can absolutely see why he would think that way and see that he is playing the hand he got and willing to go to the bitter end if that achieves a better conclusion.

I actually could see Kakashi having Sasuke make a contract with his ninja hounds as well and Sasuke would probably be more analytical when it comes to fighting like Kakashi as well and eventually he would probably learn the different chidori techniques as well. Well naruto's Rasen shuriken is his jutsu alone, but it is part of a jutsu family of the rasengan, it is the rasengan with wind nature chakra. Essentially, the 4th hokage developed the rasengan which was similar to the tailed beast bomb just without tailed beast chakra. And it's rotation. But the rasen shuriken variation before it was called wind release Rasengan, a rasengan with wind chakra, and then rasen shuriken was just an intense and bigger version of it.

Imo Kakashi training Sasuke would be just as strong if not stronger. Orochimaru training focused more on physical strength via drugs and curse mark. Whereas Kakashi's training would focus more on his his sharingan, speed and versatility. He would could have more chakra nature's, better genjutsu. Plus orochimaru was mostly bedridden and couldn't perform jutsus because of his hands as well and had Sasuke face fodder ninjas while training. But Sasuke would have a better experience by sparing with Kakashi who would be a sharingan user like Itachi.

I think the main difference that Orochimaru and Kakashi is their behavior, Kakashi wants to train Sasuke but its difficult to say how much risk he would put on it. Orochimaru wanted Sasuke's body but he also wanted a perfect vessel, so I'd argue Orochimaru probaly experimented and was more reckless with his training on Sasuke, he has Kabuto and a lot of drugs at his disposal. Also bear in mind, Orochimaru's objective was to master every jutsu possible so he is the most knowledgeable person with jutsu development.

Sauke dont have as much chakra as Naruto, but he does have a huge amount. Kakashi could of teach shadow clone to Sasuke to train him better. Sasuke just was never taught using the shadow clone and just not his style of fighting. Also, its a plot armor that sasuke cannot use shadow clone else he will be too overpower.

Edo Deidara stalemated onoki in the war arc and you know how that went, Mai would get fodderized for obvious reasons, the whole thing with garra and the amateuru is a misconception, in the anime it looks like he casted it on the sand while in the manga we see the amaterasu moving from his susanno to garra meaning he didn't use the version that is instanious. In my opinion: Sasuke wouldn’t have anything snake themed nor would have his unique sword but likely a tanto since Kakashi knows how to fight with them Sasuke would not be as fast. It’s not confirmed but Sakura speculates Orochimaru used drugs to increase his growth at a fast rate, which includes speed Sasuke would not have his high poison resistance Personally I think Sasuke would still learn all his Chidori variants and Kirin considering under Kakashi he unlocked lighting style and skilled enough with it to use Chidori in just one month. Kakashi would also still help him master his base sharingan too He would be powerful than he was but weaker than if he trained with Orochimaru Especially since unless he left the village with Kakashi to focus on training 24/7, he would be stuck doing missions or not dedicating himself to training all the time:
