I'm so excited - my frozen shoulder finally broke free after exactly one year! For three months, every day, I've been doing aerobics and lifting small weights. Last week, my shoulder seemed warm and achy so I thought it was getting worse. But yesterday, during the weights, I heard a crackle in my shoulder. This morning it happened again, and now I have full range of motion and no pain! I was really worried before.

I'm was diagnosed w/ it about 4 months ago, and the pain and range of motion have improved SOME, but it's scary to not be able to do the same activities I could before - and/or the same way or duration. In the beginning, I had to be real careful about how I moved my arm at all, the speed, or how far out I reached. I was getting brutal pain a # of times each day. Now that's down to just a few bad times a week and is improving. But I can only sleep in one position, and that's frustrating. It reminds you of your age and the value of life, that's for sure!

I had the exact same thing. Even putting a bra on was impossible. Hang in there… it’s a long process but it does start to improve. Sleeping was next to impossible too. Once you are out of the frozen (second phase) it’s a bit of relief. Body just has to heal on its own.

I had a frozen shoulder for about six months around 2013 to 2014. Definitely one of the most nagging/aggravating injuries Ive ever sustained(I’d say only second behind hyperextending my groin). To anyone suffering, just stick with the proper rehab routine. It takes a long time to heal but once it finally does your shoulder comes back stronger than ever.

This message is to general practitioners (GP). Please stop making the referral to physical therapy before you have imaging performed! Your patient's shoulder is worth the $1,500 to $2,000 that the MRI costs. Add contrast die to be sure. I consider it malpractice for a GP to refer patients to physical therapy if the patient has ambiguous shoulder pain with restricted movement. Who knows what kind of injury is present? Do physicians have "MRI eyes"?? No. They know that the patient has restricted movement and pain, and possibly ligament or muscle tears (maybe). An MRI can easily reveal inflammation (i.e. adhesive capsulitis) within the major joint of the shoulder, and the orthopedic doctor can provide a cortisone shot the same day. I would love to start a law firm that represents patients who are sent to physical therapy without having any imaging prescribed.

I just left the orthopedic doctor and he said I have a frozen shoulder. It’s great that I found this video bc the Doc doesn’t really explain much about it. It seems like I’m on fase 2 now. The pain started around May’2022. Primary doctor thought it was rotator cuff. I’ve been seeing a chiropractor since Nov and the pain was almost gone, it was so promising, but mid January it took a turn to the worst, and I couldn’t lift my arm, thankfully it’s the left arm. I was starting to think that it was the Chiropractor’s fault. On this fase two my neck also got very stiff, making things much worse specially when laying on bed, using only one side to turn my whole body around is very difficult and painful. It’s very hard to fix my hair, dress and undress. I got a cortisone shot today and will start physical therapy. Let’s see where that will take me. Good luck and blessings to all of us going through this!

I started feeling better around August last year, when it completely defrosted. I didn't feel any pain during the freezing phase, just lack of movements. I underwent a few physical therapy sessions until May/June, but then I stopped. Interestingly, I started regaining my movements only after I discontinued the therapy (coincidence? I don't know). I regret not seeing an orthopedic doctor right away when the pain began. Instead, I went to see two different chiropractors from different offices, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong. In hindsight, my choice to see chiropractors may have worsened the situation. Good luck to you all going through this right now.

I'm a man in my 50s. I've had it for 18 months. First 4 months I did nothing thinking it was an injury that would heal. When it didn't heal and got worse I saw doctor. Did PT for a few months. Painful because they make you force it past your comfortable range. A few times she put me in intense pain. I hated my therapist and called her my dominatrix. The more you do the PT exercises at home the better. Hard to do because you have to force it into the painful range in order to regain some range and you have to do this a few times a day to maintain it. After about 8 months since it started it was noticeably less painful and had more range. Today after 18 months the range is about 90%. Still hurts at extreme range but I rarely need to move in that range for any tasks. Not a big deal since it no longer prevents me from doing anything (lifting overhead, putting on a coat, etc.). I'd never heard of frozen shoulder until I was diagnosed with it.

I am happy to report that my frozen shoulder condition has gone. I changed my diet to reduce sugar and wheat, which after getting covid-19 in Sept. 2022 seem to cause me inflammation, micro blood clotting and joint stiffness in me. Even after changing my diet I had to let the frozen shoulder run its course: went from debilitating pain every night for months to still frozen but no pain as long as I didn't try to move the shoulder to back to mostly normal... took about 9 months. I take vitamin d3 and k2 daily as I am in a place without enough sunshine.

Most of my guy friends have had it so why is it more common in women or is this BS? I had my right shoulder and now i am suffering on the left after Physical Therapy. Now they are calling it Rounding Shoulders. So did the diagnosis of frozen shoulder lead to rounding?

Don't believe those retards. They act like they know everything and just start treatment right away when they haven't even found out what's wrong. I'm in the same boat right now. I'd say its best to get an mri done first to see what the problem actually is. These clowns over here are so quick to self diagnose me when they don't even know whats wrong and outline some cookie cutter routine or plan for my "therapy". I still can't find any good physiotherapists in my area, they're all a joke and so lazy. I'm putting in all the effort while they just do the bare minimum
