In December 2020 i cut carbs and sugar out of my foods and started IF. These greatly had a positive affect on my lifestyle. I have the energy to go for long walks and recently started a kettle bell workout, which helped me go to bed at a decent time (I've never felt excited to actually snuggle up in bed before lol) Good energy and good rest gave me good moods. 321 lb to 296 lb in 5 weeks I have nothing to complain about. It's all thanks to people like Kait.

My doctor told that I have metabolic syndrome some time ago. But he didn’t tell me what it was. For some reason it came to mind this morning and I looked it up. I know that my blood sugar is elevated to the pre diabetic level. So I’ve been consuming below 5 grams of carbs each day. I was walking an hour a day for a time as well. Today I added intermittent fasting at an 16/8 ratio. If this doesn’t do the trick, I’m going to check into laparoscopic surgery. Thank you for the added information.

Great informative video Kait. I've been a diabetic since last 17 years on oral medication. I can say the one thing that made it worse has been snacking. @KardXP , it's not as strict, but about 85--90% low carb. I work out frequently now which also helps reduce insulin resistance. I lost about 35lbs in total and haven't had any issues with blood pressure or I.R. since starting Keto/Intermittent fasting. I generally only eat lunch and dinner and feel much better throughout the day. Also make sure if you're doing Keto and working out you have an electrolyte mix in the morning, Keto causes your body to drop salt and electrolytes, which is good at first but you can get low in the long term and have lower energy and get spells of dizziness!
@78910ebutuoy3 ай бұрын
Yes I have it. With fatigue, I had little energy and appetite, eating just one meal per day. The fasting did nothing to help. I can't lose a pound to save my life. Instead a nutritionist told me I was getting too few calories/nutrients for fuel. I needed to eat more - more protein, veggies and drink more water. I'm now starting on a "thermo-metabolic" nutrition plan. I hope it helps. I'm tired of living tired.

The insulin resistance makes it difficult to lose any weight. I started keto about nine months ago with the goal of reversing my insulin resistance because I didn’t think I could lose weight until this happened. I figured it would take a year but now I am seeing great progress. I have lost two pounds a month since changing my diet. This may not seem like much but my goal wasn’t quick weight loss and before I couldn’t lose anything no matter what. I really believe the saying “Be healthy to lose weight not lose weight to be healthy.” There is hope if you have patience and stay ketovore. Good luck 💕

I would love to know how fasting fits into this and if so which type? 16:8, OMAD, ADF? My Dr. told me her hesitation with recommending IF (for me, she is a big fan in general) is that it can potentially lead to a binge at the end of the day. In her words, its better to keep blood sugar stable all day by focusing on protein every time I eat, than risk those big swings as a result of IF. For this reason I wonder if the way to add in fasting would be a once a week 36 hr fast?

I've been researching this subject for almost 10 years now because i was one of those people with this problem. it is simple to know what causes metabolic syndrome, it is simply what you eat and also what you don't eat, its never how much you eat or if you exercise or not. yes, insulin resistance is a factor, it happens after a long time of eating the wrong foods. your right, eating to often a day is not normal for a human or any animal once or twice a day is far more than enough. vegetable oils, sugars and starches are also not human foods. if you're fat or insulin resistant lean meats are the answer and the cure. if your fit and healthy any type of meat is fine for you. everything that you can do pales next to this. some will say but you need fat, yes you do, lean meats contain plenty of fats for your needs the rest will come from your body. if you eat to much fat you wont burn your bodies fat, also the fat most have accumulated in their bodies are made of vegetable oils and are extremely difficult for a healthy body to burn so for a sick body to burn is even harder and will take longer. it took me a long time to learn all this and more, today i'm fit and healthy and my diet remains over 75% meats daily
