👁 About this video : In today's video it's time to start on the search for the best lift kit for my Jeep Wrangler. I feel like this is where I want to start getting that height and the wheel/tire combo! On my tacoma I got all the cosmetic looks I wanted and some other parts done first, but I'm ready for this to look aggressive and have that proper stance! So help me decide which lift is going to give me the best of both worlds, meaning great on the pavement and off of it! I will be taking this offroad obviously and can't wait to see how it performs stock, and then get the lift and really see what it can do! I'm excited to start on this project and hope you guys are too, let me know what ideas you have on this build and lets get this thing looks pretty sick here soon!

Also while your looking into lifts , look into the synergy trackbar pitman arm reinforcement it will tighten up the steering wheel since these JL's has from stock a "loose " feeling . not to mention the added beef to important suspension parts and its fairly priced around 200 i believe

Note that Mopar comes with longer Lower Control Arms (don't confuse it with longer arms), reason is once lifted you want to bring back the geometric to factory specs or it'll wander on the highway. For 95% on-road you need 2-2.5" lift. Oh yeah, Avoid RC at all cost, cheap for a reason. My old JK had JKS Lift Kit and I highly recommend it.

Take a look at the JKS manufacturing lift kits! Super reliable and they make ANY part you’ll need. I get mine installed on my JL Rubicon Tuesday. Kind of on the expensive side is the downside. Also, maybe invest in adjustable control arms instead of the brackets. Depending on your level of off roading you might want something more stout.

I went with the 3.5 in Rough Country lift you showed except I payed the extra $200 for the v2 monotube shocks. I didn’t want to pay thousands for a lift cause there’s other mods I wanted to buy. I’ve had no issues & it rides great. As for wheels and tire I went with 35 in Falken Wildpeak AT3 and 17in black steel mammoth wheels. Simple clean setup but aggressive looking.

Bros FOURR Speed So far so good. I’ve had it on for a few months now. I think it’s a great beginner lift kit for under $1,000. It looks perfect with 35’s. I think anything higher will def need 37’s. Also paired it with the Rough Country dual steering stabilizer. Can’t beat the price.

I'd do 3.5" lift from reputable company and do the control arms and track bars. Don't cut any corners. Adjustable control arms will help you bring caster angle back into spec which is the biggest reason for death wobble. Stay away from rough country. When I ran my jeep shop RC was not allowed in there under any circumstance. Long arm kit will give you best flex and ride quality as the axle travels in better geometry arc vs short arm. Whatever you do get adjustable arms which none of the kits u looked at have. I'd piece something together. Also look into Rubicon express stuff if you're on certain budget.

Personally knowing what i know now about jeeps and after experimenting don't cut corners especially on lift. The teraflex IMO for 2400 is not a good deal seeing you don't even get control arms. For about 2500 you can get a metalcloak 2.5 lift or 3.5 with everything from brake lines , control arms , shocks springs disco sway bars etc and the ride is alot smoother than stock. Stay away from cheapo lifts because if your going to offroad it, parts won't last long at all . not to mention with any lift kit that comes with control arms you can generally switch from height with as simple as springs and shocks . but i would look into riding around in different jeeps with different lifts so you get a feel for what kind of ride you like

2 to 2 1/2” is more of a lift than you realize. When you go higher than that you really change the geometry to the point you’ll need to modify a lot more suspension components to keep it from causing you problems down the road. I have a Terafllex 2 1/2” Sport ST2 lift with Falcon SP2 2.1 shocks. It’s a great kit for someone who is not trying to build a full time rock crawler. It handles like stock on the road but give you the extra clearance you need for larger tires. I installed it myself and was really impressed with the fit and finish of everything. You know the old saying..... “you get what you pay for”. I think it’s true when it comes to lift kits.
@BrosFOURRSpeed
@BrosFOURRSpeed 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input, what size tires are you running on that kit?
@nchighwayman
@nchighwayman 3 жыл бұрын
Bros FOURR Speed I’m running 37” BFG KM3’s. I have the Rubicon that has the two inch higher fenders though. The 35” tire size I think is a good choice unless you go with a high lift. When the lift is really tall they need a bigger tire to fill the space or it will look kind of like a roller skate. I’ll see if I can send you a pic of mine so you can see what a 2.5” with 37’s looks like.

People really talk bad about Rough Country, but the 4" lift that I put on my wife's 2003 TJ was smoother and nicer than the factor suspension. Rough Country has had issues with their shocks, but as far as coils, they have been fine. I don't see any reason to spend upwards of $3000 for a lift just to have a brand name. Besides to get the best stuff on your Jeep, you're better off going to well know 3rd parties, like heavy duty adjustable trackbars, adjustable upper and lower control arms. If you want flex go with long arms. I would recommend sourcing coils, adjustable trackbar and adjustable control arms. Also get the extended brake cables, and Blistien 5100 series shocks. You'll have a much better lift than buying a kit, and I believe it will be cheaper in the long run.
