China viewed 2007 riot in Xinjiang caused by Islamic radicalization, which in turn linked to the social-economic issues faced by the people there. To overcome that, they brought in more development to the province and people were sent for re-education to better equip themselves. Today Xinjiang's GDP has grown from US$ 50 billion in 2007 to almost US$ 200 billion in 2019. That is the size of Greece and New Zealand GDPs. Also, its GDP is higher than 22 of the American states. The reasons for violent and terrorist activities in Xinjiang a couple of years ago are very complicated. Basically, it is the penetration of foreign extremist religious power. In addition, many Uyghurs cannot speak Mandarin and lack modern working skills. They are generally engaged in herding or agriculture. Uyghurs also want to live a good life, but when they come to the city they find that there are very few employment opportunities for them. The government has established an education and training center to train them garment sewing skills, electronic parts fabrication and textile production skills, as well as trade training, etc., with the aim to increase their employment opportunities and eradicate the soil of violence and terror. Xinjiang cotton is picked by workers hired from the densely populated provinces because no Uyghurs prefer cotton picking than herding. And now it's all machine-picked, and forced labor is nonsense. The purpose of the US banning Xinjiang products is to make Uyghurs unemployed and make Xinjiang chaotic.

then why does these so called training centers have watchtowers and heavily armed police if it's for everyone's good. And don't try to deny it because even China can't hide satellite data.

Isn't it telling that despite its title this video actually gives no real information about the camps, and what they're about practically? I have been in Canada for 50 years. Just came back from a 18 days tour in Xinjiang. Here is my experience during the tour: I talked to couple of Taxi drivers. They said their business is getting better last 3 years because there is night market now. 3 years ago, no one walk on the street in the night because some bad guys fighting on the street with knife all the time. Now, policemen took these bad guys to re-educate them. Let them learn some skill, such as reading, writing, driving, plumping, electrician etc. So, after they get out of the education program, they can find a job. If they have job, have money, no one want to be a bad guy. This is a clime prevention program. I talked to a 24 years old waitress, she and her husband both are high school graduates. Last couple of years, they bought a house and now they are going to buy a car. I traveled around the world, I feel Xinjiang is the safest place in the world now. The re-education centers basically educates them on what Chinese citizenship and being a member of Chinese society means in terms of responsibility in and to the public. Even though they are ethnically and religiously Uighur, they are Chinese citizens by birthright. Culturally and societally, promoting nationalism of a specific group is destabilizing because it harms the society as a whole. Uighur extremism resulted in the death of hundreds of people so it's a pretty legit stance.

The truth is somewhere in between. For a fact the Western world and specifically the US has been writing emphasized sometimes biased news about China for political reasons. And letting people know that China is bad. While in Chinese papers it said that the US is doing that to 'attack' China. This become so far that the people in Western countries and Eastern (Japan, South Korea India) had started to not only hate the CCP but also the people from China. This is why Chinese people started to not like the Western people and is the reason why when visiting as a white person, locals will look at you which then we again think it is racism. Theres Something in between the US and China that's unexplained. But I do understand that the US wants to keep it's place in the world so they will do their best to get China down. The true truth we'll probably know when there happens to be a war.

This all well and good, but do the Uygur's actually have a choice whether they attend the camps or not? Every Chinese person I've talked to who lives outside of China says that the western assessment of the camps being more like a "concentration camp" is accurate. Obviously I'm not saying I'm an expert with overwhelming proof, I just find it interesting how there seems to be a difference of opinions between Chinese people living in China, which does have government censorship, and Chinese nationals living in other countries with access to multiple news and journalism sources.
@lyndonbennett27464 жыл бұрын
@TheLatiosnlatias02 I completely agree with you on most of what you're saying. I absolutely believe that how the United States has treated Muslims around the world has been horrible. I also agree with you that China's approach is far better, and more peaceful. I have nothing against China; in fact my girlfriend, and my aunt are both from China. The real question I was asking is why there is a different account of the activities going on in these schools, or what ever you want to call them. And also, why is the Chinese government so strict on what journalist's and tourists can and can't film. I realize that the western media is almost certainly making the situation seem worse than it is, but if things are so great, why can't foreigners and journalist come see it for themselves? That was my main concern.
