Something that nobody is mentioning when talking about Threads is that, for regular users like us with around 200 followers (mostly imported from Instagram), we experience minimal engagement. Our feed is constantly crowded with recommendations, accounts we don't follow, verified accounts, and all the content that Threads wants to promote. This is why users like you, with more significant followings, had much higher interaction on the platform. Meta aims to make big creators feel that the platform has good engagement. However, for us, it's practically impossible to find the threads our contacts post. It's literally an impossible task. So, even if we post a thread, we may receive zero likes or comments because people won't find it amidst so many recommendations. Unless Threads adds a separate tab for "For You" and "Following," like most other social media platforms, normal users will likely abandon the platform. The reason being that they feel unheard, despite having a substantial number of followers. It all feels fake and pointless. As a result, people are using the app less and less, unless they are influencers. Meta mentioned that they are working on addressing this issue, but it's crucial that they do so sooner. People are already leaving the platform due to these frustrations. The engagement is not spread equally across the platform; it primarily benefits big and verified accounts whose content gets pushed to almost every user's feed. For regular users, engagement is even worse than on Twitter, where we may have fewer followers.

35:42 I have attended a workshop about KZbin shorts last year, at Google offices in Dubai, and one of the their recommendations was to "not post a video that has a logo of another platform" I used to think that this is a rumour or random tip from unknown creators but now I take this seriously, and make sure that all my video doesnot have a logo. Other rumors I heard are: 1- Recording with the front camera gets you more views. 2- Do not say "Snapchat" in your tiktok videos or bio. I can not confirm the last two but thought of sharing

By the way there is no ads for some countries for example I am from Ethiopia and I don't have a KZbin premium but I have no ads and can download everything you want then the moment I had turned a VPN everything that I downloaded disappears and I start seeing ads.

Thinking about this whole Threads/Twitter/IG thing. It was nice you could just swing over all your IG folks into thread. My problem is. I don’t really follow the same people on IG and Twitter. So I still have to go and find people to follow again. It’s the whole reason I still keep going to Twitter. Content I’m just missing. Also, some notable government agencies aren’t on Threads either. Which is annoying at times.

@andrew! You can delete the devices with downloads on your Netflix settings! On their website only. It shows which devices have downloaded material right now and when was the last time there were things downloaded. So you can just go and delete the oldest device

Google + was hands down my highest engagement and best social media experience with tons of followers and daily engagement and great conversations. All part of the photo community. Have not ever been able to reproduce that anywhere else. I miss g+ especially with the engagement with the developers.

One thing to consider in the streaming sticks is some tvs with built in streaming apps degrade and slow down fast and I think many people decide to buy a stick to to stream OVER the slow software (looking at you VIZIO)

Exactly. Twitter and Instagram are so different. The problem is that Threads is trying to be Instagram but with text. The people I follow on Instagram are horrendously uninteresting on Threads. Also the UI is a bit weird to look at.

I think if you love KZbin, then getting premium and canceling Spotify makes sense. You get KZbin Music with Premium. It'll save you a few bucks per month. You get some cool benefits with YT Premium. It's a little bit of a switch but at the end of the day, you're saving money for essentially the same product. I love the feature where you can easily switch over to the music video. You also can watch all those rare concerts, or songs that Spotify will never have due to artists disputes. So at the end of the day. I say get premium and cancel Spotify.

Smart TV sticks aren’t overhyped. Built in smart apps don’t get updates that frequently anyway and they get so slow. I currently use a Smart TV stick with my Smart TV.

The Santa Fe has always been offered in 2 or 3 row variants: 5 or 7 seats. The back 2 seats are typically small, but this new ‘24 Santa Fe looks like it may be a bit bigger than before. Threads is interesting, but I'm getting the feeling that Meta isn't serious about it, probably because they don't want it to compete with Facebook. -- No direct messaging (or messaging of any kind) -- No ability to filter to see just the people you follow (at least on Android) -- No Web access -- No PC/Mac client I know they said these things are coming, but they honestly should've existed on day one.

@Cyoid The Rivian started okay, good thoughts put into it. Unfortunately as time passed, issues surfaced and as production ramped up the physical quality went down. Neighbor had a Rivian PU and got rid of it due to faulty electronics. Had software issues and had trouble getting service. Nice design. It just needs some tlc and a few generations to mature. Other EV PU’s are rushed to market. I took a solid look at a Lightning and a Mustang Mach E. Hummer EV is out of my price point. For now I bought a gas SUV and decided to try again in a couple of years.

If i was at twitter i would make a creator dashboard and require creators to send tweets that qualify for monetisation to be reviewed. So you submit your work just like you would an invoice. Then you get paid rather than it being automatic. That way it would allow for better copyright checking.

Ok I always thought an RGB keyboard was ridiculous extra I wouldn't pay for, then I got a laptop that happened to have it and now I can't imagine a keyboard without it: it lets me seey keyboard in a dimmly lit room. That means I can unwind while I type, or nurse a headache, without squinting when I glance at the keyboard, or try to put in a password when my hands aren't in perfect touch-typing position. I love RGB. It might be over hyped for a lot of a applications, but adjustable lighting on a keyboard is incredible.
