I would love to see a video of you doing a no spend food challenge. Basically you try to go a set period of time without buying more food and use up as much as you can from your own freezer cupboards and pantry. In line with zero waste, it sort of encourages people to appreciate what they do have and reduce food waste.

You have a well stocked & organised pantry. I have a lot of spices and herbs in my pantry, I also have lentils, canned goods such as tomatoes, beans, coconut milk. I also have grains, nuts, pasta and rice and seeds. My fridge is filled with vegetables and fruits except those that are stocked in my pantry or fruit bowl. Yes do a fridge and freezer tour.

I loved how you did NOT share your vitamins! SO many influential people make blanket recommendations (beyond B12 & D3 which is a safe bet). Also, you have a healthy stance on superfoods and supplements which makes your vegan lifestyle much more accessible to newbies :)

Hey, I was watching a video by a vegan nutritionist (legit certified), and he said that its important to keep walnuts and other omega rich nuts/seeds in the fridge because they can break down and go rancid easily. I learned this recently and it's just something to consider, i recently put my walnuts/chia seeds in the fridge

Please do a video taste testing all that chocolate! Ha! Oh, and a video on eating from the pantry. Some folks can only grocery shop once every two weeks or even once a month. That means fresh veggies and fruit are sometimes unavailable. Can you meet proper healthy food requirements out of a pantry? Good discussion and creativity could be the outcome. 😀😍

Wow this really is a well stocked pantry! LOVED the video all the way through! I only have one "critical" question: HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH FOOD GOING BAD? I mean, how do you organize your cooking/eating in order not to make all of that stuff go bad? I always end up having that one forgotten rice/nuts/oats bag that I find when it's just too late to actually eat because it has gone bad without me noticing! So I would really need some tips from someone who has much more food than I do and who looks like is much more organized than I am! Could you please make a video about this? I think it would fit in the "reducing your waste" category very well!
@lilascharmante27123 жыл бұрын
If it's no longer edible, you can compost them. If it's past the date but still looks/ smells fine you can eat them or feed squirrels/ birds (if it's grains or bread).
@lizalen226 жыл бұрын
Hi caitlin! Awesome video and content. My question is: how do you justify all the plastic bags in your pantry when you say you are trying to cut back on plastic. No judging, i deal with the same thing. It just seems like EVERYTHING comes in a plastic bag--everything from thrive market, sugars, granola, crackers, tortilla chips, nuts, ect... thrive market is awesome but its not like we are getting anything in bulk from thrive. Pretty much everything from thrive comes in a single-use plastic bag. Let me know what you think about this!
@wishforinfinity6 жыл бұрын
Buying from the bulk bins can really help cut down on plastic! I definitely buy more plastic than I'd like to and for some types of products it seems almost inevitable, but things like grains, spices, oil, granola, and nuts can be bought from bulk bins and put in containers you bring to the store or little canvas bags. It also tends to be quite a bit cheaper that way!

Hey Caitlin this video gave me some good ideas of things I want to try! I have been thinking about trying Thrive for things I can’t buy in bulk, but I do worry about getting into the habit of buying from them and purchasing lots of things in packaging. I notice your pantry has lots of things in packaging like all the nuts and rice etc. from thrive. I’m curious are all those bags recyclable? I am try to use my car less, so Thrive is appealing, but I do worry about waste. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for all your informative videos! 🙏🏻❤️

There are several brands that offer vegan D3 now! But you're correct, if you're buying D3, make sure it specifies vegan, because traditional D3 supplements (along with D3 in things like cereal) is not vegan.
