"I live in a big city, i drive everywhere" as a person living in Europe, that just sounds so strange. Usually, it is the other way around. If you live in a big city, you do not have a car.
@CommodoreFan644 жыл бұрын
That's because big cities here in the US for the most part are spread out very far, and relying on what little public transit if any in many of them is a no go. For example I live just over the border of Georgia in S. Carolina, and in a single day I've traveled in my truck thrifting, and shopping from my small town to 4 different fair sized towns/cities like Augusta GA(home of the Masters Golf Tournament), and I would never rely on their bus system for anything as it's a total joke even if I lived in the Augusta City Limits.

Everything in the US is spaced out, and a long ways away. So having a car is mandatory in order to go places.
@christopherfortineux69374 жыл бұрын
You can fit most european countries inside states in the USA. WE have more land than there are people to even occupy it. So we spread everything out and build big. New roads and layouts are built larger than necessary for future sake now also. (expansion). In Europe you all think it is crazy to drive hours for a trip. That is a normal commute for most Americans lol

6:03: Basically the same reason I use RedReader on Android. It is faster than almost any other app on my phone! I carry a LOT with me on the daily. I have a 5.11 Tactical Rush 72 backpack that basically carries almost everything, including the majority of my computer peripherals, my water bottle, several chargers, a folding portable solar panel, anything I am bringing for a specific task in the main part (such as school work), screw drivers, scissors, my Texas Instruments TI-30X II S calculator, my old ZTE Zinger phone, my hand sanitiser my umbrella... It's basically what I use to carry anything I own that is not too big (like my desktop computers or monitors). I also have a fanny pack that carries smaller things and things that I always want to have on me even if I don't bring my main bag, like some micro-USB cables (the only ones that work are the newer OnePlus ones though; all others have stopped working under most circumstances), my Anker battery pack, my wallet, my Rotring 800 pencil (my Rotring 600 goes in my main bag), my keys, some old surgical masks from before anyone took the pandemic seriously and I did not yet have KN95 masks, and a bunch of change. I've also been bringing my WB-97 Bluetooth speaker in my fanny pack lately. When I go anywhere so close that it does not require my keys (i.e, the trash outside or places inside our apartment), I only bring my OnePlus One phone (and will eventually get a Librem 5 for that). I always like to be prepared for anything to the highest degree possible (a lot of times I even carry a redundant food in my main backpack), but when I am staying entirely inside that is a bit overkill. Some of my main computer peripherals that I bring with me if I am going anywhere I could possibly want to use any computer, but which otherwise stay at home, include my Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional2, Zowie FK2 mouse, AudioTechnica ATH-M50x headphones, AudioTechnica ATGM2 microphone for my headphones, and a bunch of random peripherals like a USB hub, wireless adapter, USB flash disks, an SD card reader, a few SD cards, and occasionally my old 500GB external Silicon Power hard drive (which is currently sitting at my PC/home server/home router where I can access it remotely). The computer things I usually do NOT bring with me are any computer parts which are either in one of my two desktop computers, or sitting as backups, my two Dell 1907FPV monitors (sitting at my main computer), and my cheap ELP webcam I bought for a science fair project. Also, I do not bring my old broken Happy Hacking Keyboard Lite2 anymore, nor the used Macally keyboard I got for free from an IT internship that would have otherwise been thrown away, nor the mouse that came with it. Otherwise, though, my large bag contains almost everything. Oh wait! I also have a tiny Bluetooth adapter on the bottom of my left monitor that doesn't usually go in my bag. And my old not-really-working MacBook, and a broken Windows 10 tablet I was gifted which I have not yet replaced the completely dead battery of to install Linux, also stay home. But otherwise, everything comes with me. My parents have been divorced for my entire life, so I am used to doing things nomadically. This is also the reason I have two desktop computers instead of just one. Edit: Also, fun fact: Since none of my laptops work very well, I often plug my keyboard and mouse into my phone as a laptop substitute using a USB OTG adapter. Android supports it quite well, and for software that doesn't run on Android, I run LinuxDeploy with XServer XSDL for a decent Linux desktop experience. My next phone, though, will be a Librem 5, and one of the reasons I chose it was that it should be able to do this a little more seamlessly, as it runs GNU/Linux natively instead of needing a chroot environment. In general, I run a lot of GNU/Linux things on my phone. One of the apps I use a lot is Termux, which I use to manage my files (the CLI is convenient on mobile with Hacker's Keyboard), copy any files I want to copy between computers using scp, backup photos to my computer using rsync, view my memory and CPU usage, play any music I want to play with mpv, and even to make my own makeshift musical alarm by combining utimer with mpv. I also do a bunch of other miscellaneous things in it, like programming. Another app I love is OI Notepad. It is lighning fast, just like RedReader, and is a simple way to save all my notes, and even save comments and posts with a vastly more efficient search interface than Reddit's way to save them.

I never know how to react when you drop those reminders that you are, in fact, a Mormon. On the one hand, you're never saying anything divisive as far as religious beliefs go, and this video, where you encourage people who are specifically looking for a Bible app to look into the LDS bible app, is the closest you've ever come to proselytizing. I don't have an issue with it, it's just surprising. Not like most KZbinrs, and definitely not like other techtubers. I don't know that they've made an app for the translation of the Bible I prefer.

Undeserved bad rap? The Mormons are the 1800s Scientologists. It's a dangerous cult and it should be treated as such and not encouraged or enabled at all. Luckily, membership is dropping rapidly, especially in younger generations. @@bobfrank5483 Hi Bob, I wasn't replying to you. Rather DGPX who indicated that the Mormon church gets a "bad rap". Please note that when in saying that I'm not in anyway casting any hate towards the wider membership of the church, who 99% of will be good, albeit misguided, people. Unlike other modern religions, there can be no doubt that the stories Joseph Smith told are complete fiction. We aren't talking thousands of years ago here. We are talking the early to mid 1800s. Only go back a few generations and we have people who actually met the guy. Any casual observer can tear apart his stories as just outright lies. From the golden plates, Urim and Thummim, the direct links to your temple ceremonies and the Masons, the same link with the garments (whose direct masonic markings were removed by the church), the complete lack of any scientific evidence that the Nephites, Lamanites, Jaredites or Mulekites ever existed, the list goes on and on. The book of Abraham and the Egyptian burial manuscript it was 'translated from' on its own is enough to out the man as a clear liar. When you add that to the clear control the church has, the secrecy it tries to keep around its rituals, the threat of losing family forever, the way any logical interrogation of belief is immediately labelled as "anti Mormon propoganda" and the polygamy (cults always have leaders with lots of sex)... There is absolutely no doubt it's not a church and it's a cult. Cults are dangerous and the "bad rap" the Mormon Church gets is extremely well deserved. I urge you, and Quinn, to read the gospel topic essays on your own church website and start asking reasonable questions a reasonable person would ask. When you don't get reasonable answers, you'll have to make a decision if you've been had all along. It'll be hard. But as I said, there is a community of people out there waiting to embrace you and if "family" only matters if you wear your garments, don't question anything and do as your told, that's not really family at all.

Man, I’m not sure about the attention to detail in this video. The content is great as always, but those media offline messages and constant on-screen corrections are making it feel a bit rushed.

IPD is also very important for ordering glasses online and I had NO IDEA there was an app for that, or even thought to look, and you've literally saved me the stress of trying to measure my wife's IPD with a set of pointy calipers THANK YOU

That Gruen was shockingly good, a great purpose for the sandwich dial. The snowflake is a modern watch in every sense, right from the titanium case to the spring drive movement. Great choices :D

I had a similar moment to your iPad moment. Those commercials made me roll my eyes. But i know edit 4k video, edit photos in the full version of lightroom, and do all my music production without a laptop. Never thought itd happen. Blew my mind 😂 iPad is really starting to get interesting

I have NEVER watched a 21-minute tech video ever. Seriously. And frankly speaking, it is so nice to watch, all thanks to the way you present all your videos - fun, charming and calmly. Thank you very much :)

2:30 personally i own an apple watch and a mechanical watch, a rotary oxford, and I switch between them depending on what I want, when I go out or go to events and social occasions I usually wear my rotary and the majority of the rest of the time I use my apple watch

if youre looking for a fuji mirrorless camera, i cant recommend the XE-1 enough. Yes, it's dated, with only 16mp of resolution, but its one of the best deals in cameras right now. i bought mine for $170, and prices seem to have gone up a little, but if you are patient you can find a good deal.

If you use tidal for the lossless streaming I recommend you to use deezer hifi instead. Tidal has kinda a built in equalizer which boosts treble presumably to attract more customers thinking it sound better while it just has more treble. I don’t like that, it makes my speakers sound a bit harsh but if you like the tidal sound just keep it of course.
