This video was super helpful! Do you have any examples of good portfolios you can share? I just graduated with my masters in UX Research, and I'm putting my own portfolio together. The way you broke down what content to include was very helpful. I've read that you should include 3-5 projects, but is there a limit as to how much content or how many pages you'd recommend? Or I guess, how much info is too much info?

Thank you for this video Kevin ! I am also working on my first UX portfolio, and I am exposed to a common (I think) problematic : I don't have participated at enough project to do a fully portfolio. You already talked about how you create your own project to start in UX, but I think that a video on " X best way to find relevant projects to build a strong UX portfolio" will be very usefull :)

Thanks for watching and for the recommendation! I'll work on one for that:) I would say this though, to avoid the cookie-cutter bootcamp projects and pick something that is highly relevant and with real impact. Not just creating another app for food delivery lol

I just started watching your vids, so you may have already answered this elsewhere...but do you think investing time in a website is beneficial for these sorts of portfolio projects, or is powerpoint presentation good enough? I've heard that powerpoints are good enough, but wanted your input on this! Thanks :)

Great question, Jessica! An online website is something you might include in your resume, but you can definitely get by with just a PDF that you can share out. You definitely need a presentation one for interviews, though.

Do you have to do bug reports in your field or is that the same thing as a usability test?

Usability problems I report as a bug in our internal tool, or JIRA, so we can track changes to the product. Otherwise if people report problems during a diary study, then tht can also go in a bug report. Great question!

Hey Kevin, can we use a fictional name to present work I have done that is under NDA? Also, removing any information that can be connected to the company?

If the project contents are confidential, I'd still use caution here, but if you remove the info I think it might be ok. I'd ask the company to be 100% sure!
