The tech did THE outstanding job. I mean he’s literally the only reason this was possible. Sure, it didn’t effect Danny’s playing at all, but it’s the drum tech that allowed for that. I think people just can’t help but praise Danny because they have little concept of touring and how little the musicians are actually required to do…it’s designed that way so that situations like this are the result of equipment malfunctions. When the musician themselves are responsible for stage management and technical support, they grow fatigued at an incredibly fast rate. Smaller bands know exactly what I’m talking about; or anyone who’s toured both clubs and theaters or bigger.

@@MajicFreeman I saw Tool during the Lateralus tour 2001/02. Missed them on Aenima 😭😭 The production on Lateralus was no near as EPIC as Fear, but my goodness, was it beautiful. Alex Grey's art work was just beginning to be incorporated into Tool's stage design. My friends and I were blown away by the Sacred Mirrors hanging from the ceiling and what looked like a massive tapestry of Grey's work in the background. These guys know how to dazzle for sure.

It doesn't make sense to me. Why do you go around assuming musicians are dicks to their technicians? Because you must think that, if you felt the need to bring it up. At least he is smiling. I would poop my pants if that happened in front of that many people.

Outstanding job. No snare. No problem. His signature sticks is a heavy one. It’s based on the rock model from Vic Firth. He beefed up the bottom shaft to the butt end for his gripping and power. The diameter is 0.695 inches for the butt end, but overall it’s still a rock/metal stick with a diameter of 0.635 inches.

I used to use marching tenor sticks on my kit. HUGE sticks, made a big sound, but they definitely shortened the life of the heads.

Danny's drum tech is the busiest man at the show. LOL. Danny could tear up an anvil with his bare hands. He's a manimal. HAHAHA.
