Yeah everyone is different. I can admit ik I'm the minority with this type of stuff. I just can't get behind his humor to me. Ik it's only the beginning which is the problem i was mentioning in the video. Casuals probably don't know this is the first official start of the DCU, but to me this is not what should have been first. I appreciate James Gunn's approach to the archetype of a ragtag group of misfits in comic book adaptations, as this is where he truly excels. Both "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Suicide Squad" showcase flawed individuals who learn to navigate life together despite the world's tendency to dismiss them for being different-characters like Rocket, Quill, and Ratcatcher. However, I do find that his humor can be pretty subjective; many moments intended to be funny don't always resonate with me. Regarding the portrayal of the Nazi element, I don't think it's merely a joke. It's a defining characteristic of G.I. Robot and serves a significant purpose. After watching the third episode, I see this aspect as a nostalgic release for him, taking him back to a time when he felt a sense of joy with companions-even if that perspective is somewhat sociopathic, lol. The "wassup" part shows how they are trying too hard to fit in with American slang despite being foreign. I found that scene where they act like they will execute Flag just because he bowed the wrong way to be hilarious. While it's not peak comedy, it does serve a narrative purpose. While having a finished script for all projects would be nice, it's not unheard of. However, I agree with not making the DCU the Gunnverse. Marvel was great because its heroes from unique worlds came together to form The Avengers. Their diverse characteristics, motives, and backgrounds make their interactions enjoyable. Unfortunately, I feel Marvel has lost that touch, with many of its projects now feeling tonally similar. One commentator I follow, Braeden Alberti, who I don’t always agree with, made a good point about "Thor: Ragnarok" feeling like a rip-off of "Guardians." The same can be said for "Quantumania." When every Marvel character becomes another quippy, funny guy, it leads to a sense of staleness and lack of uniqueness. Take Edgar Wright, the original director of "Ant-Man," who was let go from the project because his directorial style didn't align with Marvel's status quo. Everyone loves Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, so they decided to tie Spider-Man's character back to Tony Stark with advanced A.I. nano suits and themes reminiscent of an Iron Man film. The same goes for humor; they tend to interject it into every single one of their projects. I hope a Superman movie is nothing like a Batman movie. ✔️ Also, LeBron is a crybaby. I dont mind his humour, imo I really enjoy it, but i just hope he doesnt interject that into the other movies. My only issue w gunn is that all his superhero movies have that same sense of humour- which just would not fit well in other dc movies, for example the superman movie next year. If it has the same gunn tone to it it’s not gonna do well

I will say tho, he did really well (in my opinion) of adding in real emotion and deepness with GOTG3, so if he can hone in on that and less of the humor for the other dc characters he’ll be set for success. His humor would be fantastic in some projects tho- like a booster gold and blue beetle movie done by gunn would be fantastic. Plastic man as well

i know i this is long so what im mainly saying is this show along with suicide squad and peacemaker are just foundation for the new universe and SUPERMAN is the real start i dont agree with most things you said but i agree this show does seem like a weird start, but really considering whats canon, the real start is the suicide squad and peacemaker, which isnt better, but just consoder these shows as a foundation and just to set everything straight in the reboot, since gunn had to come in mod dceu, take out the trash and build on what audiences liked, which were clearly the stuff he made, the suicide squad and peacemaker and very very good media imo, way better than what the mcu has been pushing out lately. and since it isnt a hard reboot since hes keeping some characters, he has to let us understand whats here to stay, **but the real start of the universe is superman which comes out next year, and he has said that this universe wouldnt be like marvel where you have to watch every piece of content to understand whats going on so yeah general audiences dont need to watch this in order to enjoy superman and batman and the other more mainstream movies. And if you dont like his humour, well maybe this whole universe just isnt for you and i can understand how it looks like gunn has fallen into a niche with the group of outcast becomes a family with guardians, suicide squad and now creature commandos and even peacemaker, but you just gotta let him and if those shows and movie werent for you then you REALLY gotta accept that this universe isbt for you

I agree that the show is just to tell the audience what's canon, but that means people WOULD have to watch the show to see what Gunn is keeping from the DCEU. This takes away from.your point of "it's not like Marvel where you have to watch everything". It's going to be exactly like Marvel maybe worse, especially considering that even animation stuff is going to cross into live action and vice-versa. And I've accepted that Gunn's style isn't for me, which is not a shocker and thats the problem😂 Gunn is going to alienate a lot of people if he has the same storytelling style with the whole DCU. Some of us are tired of him making the Suicide Squad for the 5th time and want something fresh. You saying that peacemaker is the start AND Superman is the start is part of the problem. There is no definite start, so this fanbase is already split. Imagine if Marvel ONLY had movies that fit one style for the WHOLE 15 years. That would be boring. It will always be people like you who always eat everything up that Gunn puts out (even if it's Mediocre) but he won't be successful as Marvel if he follows that path.
