linus just did a review on a mini pc with desktop parts, it thermalthrodled so hard and it costst $5000. This Zotac Mini PC makes much more sense

I'm not sure tho because this is a desktop type of form factor with laptop components. At least a laptop is portable unlike this mini PC. I would get a full sized PC over this because neither of them are portable but the full size has better performance and customizability

@@calvinilkay1067 that's what I'm trying to say, that PC Linus reviewed didn't perform as well as it should be. You când put a 200w CPU in a 70w CPU cooler and expect it to be good. Puting the laptop components in that encloser allows to get more watts than a laptop while being way cooler. And the performance/price is awesome

@@IRudra Ok tell me how the monitor that you want to use is portable. How bout the keyboard? You obviously need a mouse for a laptop anyway but you need that as well. A laptop is portable this mini PC isn't. Yes you can out it in a backpack but you still need a monitor, keyboard and mouse for it to work at all unlike a laptop which has it all. Gaming laptop with a mouse is a better choice if mobility is a factor.

@@gavril3698 that's true but what's the point in this small form factor that isn't portable like a laptop but doesn't preform like a desktop PC. It's like a Ven diagram with the laptop and PC on either side with this thing in the middle. It really doesn't make very much sense

pros and cons spot on! I would love to see a " is notebook tech fast enough to let the chunky desktop go" / how far can we get on mobile devices at this point in time. i know: "it depends..." something like: editing FHD, no problem for 4k, some Color grading and noise reduction you need an alder lake H processor and at least and 3060 mobil comparable GPU /wait for next gen AMD mobil ... (as you surely know) you are one of the very few to show things from a creators perspective. So thanks for your Content. highly appreciated view!

I'm not convinced, this is just a very big laptop without the screen, keyboard and battery. I much prefer a standard ITX mini pc because they have everything standard, repairable and upgradeable, even if they are a bit bigger. This thing only has laptop class performance and the same problem of non standard parts.

Depends on your use case. This box is much smaller than an ITX. Last time I check, ITX case that fit a 3080 takes 1xL size. If you really tight in space, this is a not bad solution

What I like about it is the horizontal design. My plan is to stick a small pc somewhere in my entertainment unit and use it as a dedicated emulation console. Most ITX cases are tall, and so wouldn't fit.

These are both WiFi antennae connectors, not one WiFi and another Bluetooth. The Bluetooth just happens to share WiFi antenna. But WiFi needs two antennae to increase throughput.

9:37 Lower power is not the only difference. The "RTX 3080 Laptop GPU" is based on the GA104 chip - the same as the desktop RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti, and not the GA102 chip that the desktop RTX 3080 is based on. Moreover, it uses GDDR6 memory, not GDDR6X. So what if it has 16GB VRAM, since it is much less efficient than the desktop RTX 3080.

@@Spencerwalker21 I seem to remember this computer overheating with long gaming sessions. Finally buy a laptop with 3080 but 140w is important the issue of 140w as many come capped at 80w. At this point I would recommend buying a laptop with a 4070 or 4080 140w.

I love this magnus PC. Shame that zotac is hard stuck on Intel over let's say an Ryzen 6800H and is very late in to the GPU cicles with those. We're already in the 4000 series and they only just now release the 3000 upgrades. Also, thos ebricks man. GaN when?

I own an i5/2060 Magnus and it works a treat as a bedroom pc for movies and light gaming.. kinda wish i had forked out a bit more for the i7/2070, but i was too cheap in the moment.. will still work great next time i can get on a plane again.. you just can’t beat the formfactor IMO..

@@theTechNotice yeah, and metal chassey, r at least some high quality good looking plastic with 12900hx or 12950hx and 3080ti 175w and alienware size like 330w gan charger, but couse this doesnt need a screen keyboard lighting webcam mic, speakers phone charging and so on, it could be about a 280w charger too, it would be so small, if they do the same way alienware did, would be so cool, also with thunderbolt 4 ports at least 2 on the front and a headphone microphone jack, and maybe a full sized sd port too, but thats not important that much.

Got RTX3070 version. Everything is fine, except rebooting. It freezes during restart, i.e. it goes down, but doesnt go up. If I want to restart my Zotac I need to shut it down, and power it on. What could be the cause?

no cheap, i7 + 3080 is about US$2,800. Not for the faint hearted and those with deep pockets. I am on the cheap using obsolete PC plus external GPU via cable riser.

Nice. I've seen a lot of these video's where they take apart the device. The biggest issue I have with any of these mini form factors, is that they rarely come with a detailed schematic and information about the components inside. They don't give information about up-gradability, which is a downer for me. I'm always curious about what more I can do with this device. So Tech Notice....let the company know they need to be fully transparent and let the user know what makes this device tick.

Not bad but I wish they use a bit more premium enclosure. Something more modern and minimalistic. Why to stick with cheap glossy plastic in front 🤦‍♂️ (that plastic will be scratched after couple weeks from usb plugging/unplugging) Aluminium and t-glass is the way to go. We are not in the 90s anymore. Also simple things like spacing of front ports could be more refined. Gold metal bits shining in front of pc could be hidden nicely. Don't get me wrong I love PC's but looks like companies just don't care anymore.

In Marvel’s Spider-Man I've got about 3 seconds on first load in my slow 3100MB/s M.2 (Gen 3 ). I need to upgrade my motherboard and M.2 to improve overall speeds, but now I'm stuck with that crappy performance. At least not "very", but still "slow" here.
