A few days ago I made a batch of this gel. Earlier today, I touched the top of the stove and burned the tip of my finger. Even for the pain for a small burn, this was as close to perfect for my finger. For about ten minutes I used a bag of frozen corn at first and my SO gave me the gel I made for him. The way it smelled got be past the pain and the aloe played a part. Still, I'll make another batch and keep it in the fridge for days like this. It is about the go to gel for any pain.

Hi, Andrea! I ❤️ your videos! I recently made the blend with the trauma oil, and I was so impressed with its effectiveness! I dislike the odor of peppermint oil, so I wanted to ask if you had a suggestion for another oil I could use that would be as good. Thank you!

Pamela I am thrilled to hear that! Trauma oil is wonderful for soothing pain. A good option to use in place of Peppermint to help calm pain and inflammation would be Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile).

Hi Rita! We follow the safety information from “Essential Oil Safety, Second Edition” by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young. They’ve compiled solid research and the most up-to-date resources on essential oil safety. According to their findings, essential oils including Rosemary ct. camphor (Salvia rosmarinus/Rosmarinus officinalis ct. camphor) would not raise blood pressure enough to be a concern. The Aromahead recipes we share on social media are very safe, and if you follow the recipes as given, the dilutions are low enough not to cause any significant reaction. There are no specific oils to avoid for high blood pressure as long as they’re used in moderate amounts. But of course, if you feel more comfortable, you can always choose to avoid Rosemary. Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis) would be a nice substitute if it makes you feel more comfortable. 🌹

Randomly landed here looking for knee pain relief. Thanks for the info. Wondering how aloe gel helps get the active properties of the oils "into the bloodstream"?
@aromatherapyoils3 жыл бұрын
Hi Al-Shaif! That's a great questions! Aloe Vera is a hydrophilic carrier that easily penetrates the skin tissue and transports the components of the essential oils that are eventually absorbed into the bloodstream. We hope you have the opportunity to try this recipe! Please let us know how it goes for you if you do 💜

nm reza Jojoba is wonderful! It softens and conditions the skin, the scalp, and the hair. Argan oil is another option for a nourishing carrier for hair. I use less than a pea size amount on my hands and run them through my hair. You may need to experiment with the amount to discover what works best for your granddaughter's hair.

Is essential oils diluted in carriers or not before adding to alloe vera??
@aromatherapyoils3 жыл бұрын
Great question! We recommend diluting essential oils in carrier oils before applying them topically as essential oil can cause irritation to the skin. In this recipe, we are using Aloe Vera as the carrier. 💜

@aromatherapyoils6 жыл бұрын
Shady 702, you could use coconut oil in place of the aloe vera gel. One difference would be the rate of absorption. Aloe gel is a bit quicker but the coconut oil is also good.

dear andrea, does rosemary 1,8 cineole contain enough camphor component? if not, would spike lavender be a better one to use in place of the rosemary for this recipe? thank you!
@aromatherapyoils4 жыл бұрын
Yes it does! The camphor and 1,8-cineole in Rosemary contribute to its ability to increase circulation and relieve pain. It's interesting (and fun) to compare - you could try the blend one time with Rosemary, and then the next time with Spike Lavender. Let us know how that goes!

Hi Kenesa! A blend’s shelf life is determined by the ingredient with the shortest shelf life, so it depends on the ingredients you’re using. In general, any products made with water or aloe vera gel (which is water-based) should be made fresh every few weeks.

@lyndeeallan93698 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrea, the Night Time Knee Pain Gel seems like quite a low dilution (14 total drops /60mls). Is this because of the increased absorption rate of the essential oils in the Aloe Vera Gel carrier?
@lyndeeallan93698 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your expertise, it's fantastic. I'd also like to ask a more general question. Is the quick absorption rate of Aloe is maintained if it's blended with another carrier e.g. Sweet Almond, or would blending it reduce the absorption rate?
@aromatherapyoils6 жыл бұрын
In my experience this dilution nicely addresses pain without the extra need of additional essential oil. The aloe vera gel absorbs so quickly and this might play into how effective the blend is, Lyndee Allan.

If this was blended in a carrier oil the absorption rate would be a bit slower.

Aqui Angel, different oils have different therapeutic properties. The oils in the nighttime blend are calming and can help with sleep where the oils in the day time blend are more stimulating and not the best choices for nighttime use. Both recipes address the pain and inflammation but act differently on our nervous systems either calming or stimulating.
