I did THP strength for 8 months. I went from a 36 inch vert to 38. I trained my heart out and followed everything they taught me. 2 weeks after stopping THP and kind of picking the exercises and principles from THP strength, I recorded a 40 inch vert. That's my experince with THP hopefully it's helpful to some of you. THP doesn't work for all people
@avnoorludhar10422 жыл бұрын
I know why this is, they train not according to certain time frames like “8 months”. They think of a long term, I would have to guess they hadn’t gotten you to the point where you could train specifically, so when you came off of it and started keeping the principles you did that automatically. Just my guess though

He and his team are really great, and getting strength and getting rid of pain when jumping is so important for when I play volleyball. KOT has been super helpful for me and many others. KOT focusses less on basketball like the other programs, but just athletics in general and being powerful

I actually did overtime athletes program a few years ago that program got me to do my first windmill but for some reason I couldn’t game dunk I had 2 posters in that time frame but that was it. A few years later when I wanted to get my bounce back I did thp strength program even tho I was older I may have felt a little more explosive then when I did overtime. At 29 I was dunking in games and on people but I couldn’t windmill dunk even tho I felt I jumped a little higher for some reason. Had some nasty posters my negative about thp it wasn’t really any upper body strengthening exercises so I wasn’t looking as big as when I did overtime. Both had their own perks if thp had upper body strength it would be the best imo

If I do 2 plyos + front squats every leg day, how often should I switch the plyos up to where it increases my vert? And should we use the same sets and reps until we switch them up?
@NathanaelMorton2 жыл бұрын
You should progressive overload little by little each time you workout. The plyos should be progressed to harder and harder plyos. Increase reps OR intensity but not both. For example, either 5 reps on depth jumps and an 18 inch box into 5 reps on a 24 inch box OR 7 reps on an 18 inch box. Just small progressive overload

Heres one I got from chat gpt: I asked chat gpt this question: can you make an in season vertical jump program, include some kneesovertoesguy exercises. I play basketball 6 days a week for 3-4 hours. The program should have: structured testing, progressive overload, wide range of loading, progressive plyometrics, ballistic power exercises, strength exercises, apporach practice, and complex sets. make it an 8 week program. This is what I got: Certainly! Ben Patrick, also known as the "Knees Over Toes Guy," emphasizes exercises to strengthen the knees and improve overall athleticism. Here's an updated 8-week in-season vertical jump program incorporating some of his principles: **Weeks 1-2: Foundation Building** **Day 1: Testing and Strength** 1. Vertical Jump Test 2. Back Squats (4 sets x 6-8 reps) 3. Romanian Deadlifts (3 sets x 10 reps) 4. KOT Squats (Knees Over Toes Squats) - Bodyweight (3 sets x 12 reps) 5. Calf Raises (3 sets x 15 reps) 6. Core exercises (planks, Russian twists) **Day 2: Progressive Plyometrics** 1. Box Jumps (4 sets x 8 reps) 2. Depth Jumps (3 sets x 10 reps) 3. Jump Rope (3 sets x 2 minutes) 4. KOT Step-ups (3 sets x 10 reps per leg) 5. Balance exercises (single-leg squats, stability ball exercises) **Day 3: Approach Practice and Ballistic Power** 1. Approach Drill Practice on the Court 2. Power Cleans (4 sets x 5 reps) 3. Medicine Ball Throws (3 sets x 10 reps) 4. KOT Lunges (3 sets x 12 reps per leg) 5. Quick lateral movements (cone drills) **Day 4: Active Recovery or Rest** **Day 5: Progressive Overload and Strength** 1. Vertical Jump Test 2. Front Squats (4 sets x 6-8 reps) 3. Bulgarian Split Squats (3 sets x 10 reps per leg) 4. KOT Step-downs (3 sets x 10 reps per leg) 5. Seated Calf Raises (3 sets x 15 reps) 6. Core exercises (hanging leg raises, bicycle crunches) **Day 6: Plyometrics and Approach Practice** 1. Depth Jumps (4 sets x 8 reps) 2. Single-leg Box Jumps (3 sets x 10 reps per leg) 3. Sprints and agility drills 4. KOT Goblet Squats (3 sets x 12 reps) 5. Cool down with light stretching **Weeks 3-6: Intensification** Follow a similar structure, progressively increasing the intensity, and incorporating more advanced KOT exercises where appropriate. **Weeks 7-8: Peaking** Reduce overall volume, maintain intensity, and include specific KOT exercises to reinforce knee health and stability. Reevaluate progress through vertical jump testing at the end of Week 8. Adjust as needed based on personal response and performance. I feel like this could be a really Good program, I want your thoughts, thanks.
