@yourheroes5874 Жыл бұрын
@@davidturner6280not really since I was in band back in HS. Our band director acted like Fletcher but 10x worse. How Fletcher’s studio band acted when during preforming and when Fletcher loses it. It builds a nasty toxic environment in the band where people want to see each other’s downfall and most of the students adopt that toxic behavior even to this day. Unlike Fletcher who did get fired from the conservatory for being abusive. My band director never got punished even if all the students died from exhaustion. He abused us mentally, emotionally, physically, and even sexually. All were reported but never gone further because the school district were afraid of him. He retired in 2019 and was replaced by my former drum major from my freshman year. Luckily he doesn’t believe in abusing the students and has a belief that a students should enjoy and to not be afraid. As a result, my HS band has improved drastically. They won 1st place in several festivals and in marching band, they won in extremely competitive parades too!

I had a band teacher in 1976 that was almost as bad. We were terrified of him. It's amazing to me that 40 plus years later he was the one teacher that I remember vividly because I was so afraid of him. I remember when one of our tuba players had a comic book in his music stand in front of his sheet music and somehow the band director (Mr. Yokel) busted him. He threw his music stand across the band hall and almost hit the poor kid. It was fckn unbelievable.
