I own a 32 Winchester Special, mid-1930's vintage, that my father purchased new. It's in very good condition. I gave up shooting it, it kicks more than my 308 Savage. This old neck can't take the recoil from that 32 WS any more. Thanks for the review, it's nice to see that those old cartigies could get the job done when they were developed and now.
@jeffstevens1562 жыл бұрын
The 32 special was the black powder answer to the “New!” Smokeless powder. A lot of people didn’t trust the new smokeless powder. They clung to the black powder and the 32 was their answer. They changed the caliber albeit slightly so people wouldn’t compare them against each other. However, they were about as close as they could be. They were even loaded so very closely so that people could see the positive and cleaner attractions of the new powder. Quite a feat of marketing if You ask me!
@fruitfarmfords82432 жыл бұрын
@@jeffstevens156 Both were factory smokeless rounds, the bigger .32 bore was better for being reloaded with black powder, which is all most hand loaders of that time had.

Seems like the 45-70 was a bit more destructive to the jugs. The 30-30 is still a great round, I tend to like a big bullet as well. The 32 seems to be more of a niche round, not a bad round just not as popular today.
@johnfife3062 Жыл бұрын
Agreed, 32WS is not as popular but offers 10% more energy at the muzzle -- a .30-30 on steroids, as this test shows. 32WS has a cult following. Harder to find, need to reload.

Thanks for keeping your videos on topic with minimal to no political/mud slinging toward other tubers. Most of us just want to see general gun reviews and even if your take is different from someone else's its ok, because that can often allow for someone to consider something they never thought of before making a purchase. You simply give people some general info of the gun and what they can expect.

Great video, I love my lever action rifle's. Have you seen the new 1895 SBL, it's awesome. Way better then they were from Remington. I said from the beginning that Ruger would bring them back greater then ever. The one I saw today on Wolf's Prairie outdoors, fiber optic front sight and threaded barrel. The only thing he didn't like that the trigger, but you can get replacement trigger's from Ranger Point precision and Wild West Guns. It's going to be a great bing bang. Have you ever tried a Winchester 50-110, it's 67% more powerful. You can watch them on Lever Guns 50, his hand load's get between 5,500 and 6,440 ftlbs of energy. It will takedown anything on the planet and other planet's. ( Lol ). Checkout both channel's, great content. Have a great night WTW and family! Also how is Paul doing? I just lost a good friend the Coronavirus and he was fully vaccinated.

Fun fact , you can reload the 32 Winchester case in a 30-30 die and make it a 30-30, not cutting or anything 😉
@billmyers77332 жыл бұрын
I assume all rounds were factory loads. 30-30 is pretty much all factory loaded the same other than bullet weights but that can't be said with the 45-70. Was it a lower power loading or more of a modern deer hunting load? I hand load 45-70 and also have a 30-30 and would have expected the 45-70 to perform much stronger than the 30-30 based on my hunting experience with both including both deer and pigs.

Please excuse me but I believe the final review of the three rounds is wrong. I think the first round is the .32 Win Special. The second (middle) is the 30-30. One of the first rifles I purchased on my own is a Marlin 336C in .32 Win Special. Very accurate, but I was always told that as the bores wear out the bullet would tend to tumble. Never fired mine that much to find out, it is still a tack driver. How much is too much????
