thats crazy at 1:03 they show the gorilla rubbing his belly then starts to scratch at his chin then it cuts to the human scratching the same exact spot on his face it really shows we are not that different

You can tell the "kill" question bothered him, with the Harambe incident, he did not want to paint a bad light on his positive work with gorillas. He genuinely loves his job, it radiates and I enjoyed watching his enlightenment.
@lordgarion5142 жыл бұрын
It's not a "bloated look". Gorillas do actually have a big belly. And the reason is because they eat a diet of raw, and mostly low quality food. So they have to eat a LOT of food. You have to have a bigger stomach to hold all that.
@JanetStarChild2 жыл бұрын
I assumed they need more intestine to get the most out of an all-plant diet.

The fact is, I have NEVER heard of a well documented report of a gorilla killing a person. In a majority of attacks the gorillas just drag the people or chase them off or run them down and stand over them and that's basically all. Gorillas prefer to intimidate and chase off would be predators which is basically all. Yeah sure a gorilla would hit, drag or bite you but that's all. The mature adults tend to be more docile than the younger individuals. Comment made: 12:46 PM Tuesday, May 10 2022

@Fedethedangerous952 жыл бұрын
I was thinking about their sheer size/ wild lifestyle, and need for oxygen
@goddammtroubleman2 жыл бұрын
@@Fedethedangerous95 yeah, I briefly considered size, but bigger animals don't necessarily have bigger nostrils. Elephants are huge, for example, but their nostrils are relatively small in comparison. Habitat altitude seems to be the thing that sets Gorillas apart, not only from all other primates, but all other Megafauna too.
I'll speculate before watching the vid. It's because of their posture an them being relatively large herbivores. They tend to have larger guts to process plant matter better. As an aside, they have convergently evolved with other herbivores that forage by mainly using their front limbs such as giant ground sloths, chalicotheres and therizinosaurs. All of which had similar high shoulders/low hips proportions and pot bellies.

The discovery that gorillas get their protein from the bacteria in their guts was DEVASTATING to all those vegans and vegetarians who tried for so long to argue that humans could build muscle by eating a similar diet. Their digestive systems are remarkably different from ours considering how close we are to them in an evolutionary sense.

I know humans are related to Chimpanzees and the other primates but how closely related are we to Gorillas? How close are Gorillas related to Chimpanzees?
@JanetStarChild2 жыл бұрын
I recommend you look up evolutionary charts on the great apes. They're quite the eye-opener. If I recall correctly, both humans and gorillas are roughly 5 million years separated from chimpanzees and bonobos; and humans and gorillas are roughly 10 million years apart from each other.
@petermoody61472 жыл бұрын
To: MrAnd MrsSkye - By appearances, one could be forgiven for thinking that gorillas are 'large' chimpanzees. DNA suggests, however that humans and chimpanzees are more closely 'related' to each other, than either are, to the gorilla. Still, it is all very close.

If you love animals, you don't cage them. Its that simple. Zoos and Wildlife Parks that you can visit like a stupid Human we are to just mindlessly stare at Caged Animals, are so incredibly bad. Everything else than nature itself is imprisonment. And no, i dont care how supposedly "good" their life are in there. Imagine you are held in just one neighborhood and can't ever leave till you die. It's horrible! People, please don't visit Zoos or similar things. Only adopt Dog's if you want an animal friend in life, don't buy them. Having Cats is bad for the population of small animals of any kind in your neighborhood, so you should not have one if you can and care for all little lizzards, frogs, birds and etc. You can fact-check everything i said its true.
