Golf-clubs as used by Abby against Joel are the bestest weapons, there is no dispute.

For those who missed what this video is about and want to know, here’s a detailed breakdown of the sarcasm, analogy, and satire in this video. Originally posted by Mordring as a reply, it’s the most detailed breakdown so far, but did he miss anything. . . From Mording: @Shadiversity Ok, I'm meme-ignorant so I may have missed some obvious reference (please, fellow commentators, don't hate, I sometimes live under a rock for weeks) and I'll likely be overreaching but let's try it: 2:15 Chad: is it that Virgin vs Chad walk meme? As a reference that if you hate certain gratuituous scene you must be a virgin. 2:43 Monster is Abby in a first layer but also indirectly Neil D. who decided to do it in the second 3:05 that's about Joel getting golf club treatment. 3:25 all the game journalists (except maybe 5) telling it's a next-generation defining example to be followed by all 3:30 the general entertainment industry (game/movie/tv) hatred towards characters beloved by fans 3:40 Disney Star Wars 3:55 pLot holes all over the place 4:10 just more of before but one of the biggest I could name is the whole deus ex machina before the golf club scene (5 or 6 extreme coincidences in a ROW) 4:30 these people are of course critics and game journos 4:50-5:35 all the journos just quoting each other as proof their review of the game is valid, castle may be a metaphor for them all just surrounding themselves by mental walls not letting any outside opinion in 5:40 gamer metascore and not as praising reviews 5:55 how Neil D wants to subvert expectations 6:10 shaming gamers that they enjoy games or are proud of being good at them 6:30 not listening to anyone, false advertising, outright lying, DMCA strikes, and so on, and so forth 6:50 go dry into it fast, yes, that's the Abby-Owen scene 7:20 more violent than anything in recent years 7:30 also, gamers are violent and deranged because they like killing in games according to ND 7:59 TENCENT-ury followed by Chinese Government politics, so genocidal government's money good, criticism of their product, bad. 8:12 The text: Pewdepie, prominent gamer who also hated the game or too overreaching? 8:19 so is TLOU2 8:30 most testosterone and manliest = Abby 8:50 Joel, a 50ish yo white male father figure 9:00 Joel was bad for saving Ellie and gamers defending him are toxic 9:05 That's how long the game is advertised to be. 9:15 you are intelligent only if you like this game if you don't you're plebs 9:20 sending the message 9:30 vs actual gamers 9:45 that's how long the game realistically is as proven by many players who explore exery corner (20 hrs) 9:55 gamer metascore again 10:05 "you're failing to grasp the bigger picture" 10:20 appropriate the franchise for agenda all over again 11:08 penetration, the tip, wood, surface area, oh, Shad...it's all about that scene again, don't force me to remember it. 11:25 preorders 11:40 calling people disliking the game bigots 12:10 people, especially a certain Joel 12:20 Abby's absurd body and ambiguous gender 12:35 dogs and horses get the rough treatment 12:55 and the next minute or so "player does not have to kill ANY dogs" official statement vs Alice (Abby's dog you can't avoid or incapacitate, only kill in a QTE) 13:55 Naughty Dog is the company, of course. 15:35 more about Joel who was incapacitated 16:00 Abby took her time, also, one hit from the golf club would likely be deadly and Joel somehow survives multiple for the sake of gratuituous violence 16:08 not finishing weakened Abby cause reasons 16:30 Abby's manly built 16:50 theory that Neil has the info that Abby is transsexual handy to release as a mean to show that fans are transphobic for hating her (rather than hating her for what she did) 17:45 dry and fast, again Owen and Abby 18:00 and 19:20 Ellie has a gun and instead of shooting Abby before she's discovered she rushes in. Also in Ellie vs Abby late in the game, Abby's gun is just lying there and Dina decides to charge with a knife and a scream 19:45 pLot holes again, I share your pain. For a writer such as yourself it must be physically unbearable. 19:55 proof reading and fact checking the script even once would solve the issue. 20:20 some flashbacks and explanations are really forced and unbelievable 20:30 and yet they claim we lack intelligence for not buing these pLot holes 21:00 "people disliking the game are Russian bots" How did I do? I deliberately skipped some repeating references if they were close enough to each other. Most likely missed some more subtle ones. More than likely overreached on a few, but that's what I manage to collect. Also, sorry for any typos or crazy interpunction but can't really do a detailed proof reading in a speed challenge (unlike the 7 years Naughty Dog had for that).

Fun fact: The game of golf was invented when Bilbo Baggin's ancestor, Bullroarer Took, who was so large, for a hobbit, that he could ride a horse, was in a battle and he charged across the field, knocked off the head of the goblin king Golfimbul which sailed a hundred yards through the air and landed in a rabbit hole. Thus the battle was won and the game of golf was invented at the same time.

*ahem* i think i'll have a crack at it for the referances and allegories (i'll probably miss or misinterpret a lot) 2:25 - Clearly here you're talking about the superior version of shadiversity, Chadiversity. 2:50 Abby in the infamous scene 3:33 The governor and Martinez? "long time ago in a place far far away" starwars and joking sarcasm towards walking dead being also a zombie post apocalypse 3:50 all of TLOU2's plothol- i mean, potholes. so many potholes in that post apocalypse. 5:00 castles are common on kiddie golfcourses? idk lol weird one shad but im here for it 5:20 the echo chamber of critics for TLOU2 6:00 stereotype critics are saying that people who havent played or experienced the game say that everyone else is wrong because its not the game they wanted. 6:30 The abby justifies the end of the cycle of violence. 6:45 *THAT* abby scene ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 7:47 Abby found steroids and testosterone shots in the post apocalypse (apparently) 8:00 ;-; whyy, i didnt want a joel in one man! 8:30 again, abby without a doubt has some of the most impressive arms for a man i've ever seen! 8:55 how they used joel's character as a way to push the plot, how he was a safe choice because he was an old straight white male, clearly a toxic influence on the series. 9:10 length of this insult 9:19 how the critics, those with the biggest brains among us, love to praise the game for being high art. since they're the only ones who understand it. clearly. 9:30 talking here about the critics and player review discrepencies, people tend not to like it when neil druckman stand in spits on joels corpse and insults him after beating him to death slowly through torture. 10:25 brutally and disrespectfully using characters and ideas we loved from before to golf into our skulls the theme "revenge bad" 11:18 im guessing the BFT to J before he's brained 11:40 okay so 2 things within the next 10 seconds here, firstly that the golf club used to kill joel is brought in off screen and tossed to abby, and secondly, all i gotta say is "bigot sandwich" 12:15 cmon shad this is the third time we get it lol abby's arms are tree trunks, the likes of which only fat geralt can compare to! 12:38 abby's dog was a VIOLENT creature that ellie killed in self defense. (also all the other dogs you're never shown to need to feel bad for) but sure, lets show it being a loving, cared for pupper after the fact in flashbacks to artificially guilt you into feeling bad. 13:20 how the writers are assholes for trying to guilt you into feeling bad about "killing a dog" even though they're the ones that killed it since they scripted it as a cutscene and wrote it to happen that way. 14:10 naughty dog.... heh, love u shad 15:35 joel had his knee blown out by a shotgun and held up against a wall.... cant get a whole lot more incapacitated than that 15:50 golf pun. *sigh* 16:00 abby, the most brutal, psychopathic monster known thus far to gaming. 16:15 half drowned, definitely cant be all the way drowned though. that would probably go against the memory of someone important... cant think of who though, im sure any keepsakes of theirs arent important though. 17:00 some people thought abby was trans i think? either that or lev, one of the two 17:50 once more for the old rough rocky tunnel home. 19:25 joel in one? just another golf pun though im guessing 20:00 how the writers rewrote parts of the first game and changed footage from trailers to better fit there game, because it would otherwise leave major plotholes in their game 21:00 its all just review bombers creating bot and alt accounts ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) for sure

Cruel ilk the dragonslayers were, teeing dragon heads just for sport. Buying intricate carriages, later known as "gold carts," for storing the spoils of their terrible practice. Minigolf is the way of the principled warrior. Mini golfers did not discriminate against beast and man, for they knew both had an equal capacity for good and evil. Be it a cave or a windmill, wherever tyranny resides, they will make a hole in one. And it's not for competition or greed, it's just for fun.

@QuantumAscension1
@QuantumAscension1 4 жыл бұрын
VMEcycle6 Please don’t mistake me, I have nothing but respect for the Chinese people, and their culture, history, etc. I spent several months in Shandong Province a few years back learning martial arts and exploring Yantai and the surrounding region, and it was an incredible experience. However, it’s the current regime governing them that I and many others have a problem with. That’s not to say that my own government (US) doesn’t have many problems as well; it does and I recognize that, but I also have the freedom to openly admit it and criticize it. The CCP on the other hand does not allow for individual criticism of its policies and actions. IMO, this puts China in a developmental dilemma long-term. The CCP has managed to rapidly advance China both as a world power and in domestic quality of life for its people in a matter of decades, which is commendable on its own, but the catch with improving the well being of people’s lives is that it elevates their position on Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. When people don’t have to worry about survival or security, they tend to have more time to think for themselves and come up with their own personal opinions and beliefs. The CCP has tried to stem this free-thinking with wide-spread propaganda, and failing that, ‘re-education facilities’, which in turn can and do devolve into harsher punishments that fall well within human-rights violations territory. This leaves the CCP in a difficult position because it wants to maintain its authority and achieve superpower status, but allowing Chinese citizens to enjoy more prosperity means that said people will begin to demand more freedoms and question said authority of the government given its past actions. So the CCP feels it has to assert its control with heavy handed strategies. We see this clearly with things like pro-CCP individuals actively monitoring Chinese students at western universities for fear of those students becoming too open-minded and critical of the CCP. It’s effects are also evident in the high degree of intellectual property theft and corporate espionage; indicative of a situation where you want to be on par with your geopolitical adversaries, but your people lack the ability to easily develop such technologies because they don’t have the freedom to be free-thinking and diverse in mindset. Ultimately, I believe this behavior will stunt China’s potential and always hold them back until the CCP is removed from the equation. Regardless, I meant no offense to you or to Chinese people as a whole, and apologize if it came off that way.

Shadfact: The word Dragon is ultimately derives from the greek word Draconis, which original refered toall kinds of bigass snakes, and Australia is fulll of bigass snakes so Shad lives in the country of dragons and he once slew a snake with a sword which makes him an aussi dragon slayer

No it didn't, it Draconis relates to celestial/guardian creatures not terrestrial snakes (serpens) and it's Latin not Ancient Greek. Nice try though. The greek word is drakon and is kinda arguable it might also have been applied to large constrictors, but still not the sort of snake Shad went after.

@@buzzkrieger3913 Δράκων in Ancient Greek means "highwayman, lurking monster" and was attributed to various monsters such as Typhon, etc. The connection with modern dragon stems from Chimera and Belleros, the fire-breathing monsters which Bellerophon slew.

7:58 Golf was invented in the Shire around TA 2747. During the Battle of Greenfields, Bandobras Took charged through the goblin ranks and swung his club at the goblin leader's head. Bandobras swung it so hard that the head flew 100 yards into the air and landed inside a rabbit hole.

I just yesterday figured out that the author of one of my recent reads--an extraordinarily well-written and creative take on fantasy magic AND an incredibly unique plot setup--was written by THIS guy. Way to go Shad! Shadow of the Conqueror was great! Putting us in the shoes of a defeated, broken former dictator who has had the time to face EXACTLY what he did wrong... I dunno if maybe somebody's done it before and I haven't seen it, but the part where I haven't seen it is the important thing. And now I know why the swordplay elements of the book were so well thought-out, too. Maybe if I'd watched your videos more I'd have seen your style in the book. XD Not to mention the seriously different take on light vs dark, and the floating-islands setup. I have to wonder if you were setting it up to be a perfect environment for a video game? If so, congrats on not making it outright game-lit. I really don't like the whole 'RPGs are real' style of writing, and you managed to make something I could see in a Skyrim port without doing that.
