Started following Tim in 2015 due to the urging of my then 27 year old son. I was taking arthritic strength Tylenol 3X’s a day due to extreme hip pain and struggled going up stairs- I was only 61 years old. I remember crying in the doctors office saying I wasn’t ready to be old yet!! Due to my son’s encouragement I did my first 30 day challenge with Tim-and I have never looked back!! Tim and yoga turned my life around🙏. In 6 months I was totally off all pain medication and was running up and down the steps in my home without pain. I turn 69 in July this year. I practice every morning with Tim and end every day with a night time stretch without fail. I feel better and younger than I did at 55. The best part is that my husband started practicing also about 4 years ago and no longer deals with back pain. He turns 70 this year. We owe our truly golden years to yoga and Tim. Thanks Tim for all you do-you are the best!! We’ll see you on the mat🙏🥰🙏

I love Olli being around... Olli is super calm... my sweet and energetic golden retriever, Moças, just can't stand when i am in shavasana. 😁😁😁

With you, I always have to think of the saying "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear". Over the past years I've followed several different yoga teachers (online and IRL) and I always find a teacher who is "right" for me at that time. Did do some of your classes from time to time, but it wasn't until the start of this year, that it clicked... Thank you for still being there, when I was finally ready. Namasté

After years of doing 'hard' exercise, yoga is the one thing I've found and stuck with. The mentality around yoga and the practice is the kindest, most understanding form of exercise I've found, so much so that I felt every emotional the first few times I lay in corpse pose at the end of my first few classes. AND, I have seen the biggest change is my muscles and tone - I never knew something seemingly gentle would be so effective. :)

I was suicidal and ready to jump off a balcony in Medellin Airbnb when I turned to yoga and meditation. I was sick for 15 years with digestive issues and fatigue and was living in my head. I gave myself 1 month of daily yoga and meditation as a last hope. I have not stopped since then with my daily yoga practice, it will be 7+ years. I felt ashamed as a men doing yoga as I was into skateboarding, surfing and calisthenics and yoga felt like its not for me. Tim has bridged the false image I had about yoga and now I use yoga in my coaching practice for mind balance aside of physical body healing and emotional patterns. Thank you Tim, your channel saved my life.

More outdoor yoga please! Beaches, parks, broadwalks, mountain tops, trails, forests, gardens, riverside camping grounds, and all the fabulous earthly connections we are able to find so that it can complement the spiritual nature that yoga represents.

Talking about weird stuff, “energies and awakening” haha. We should talk more about this stuff! A lot of folks are asleep and what is actually weird is the collective reality society has agreed upon. Lots of people are sick, physically, mentally, and spiritually because of it. Things like yoga will lead us back home. Thank you Tim 💜

Tim, you're awesome!. Following you in 2015 was one of the best decisions of my life. You make it effortless for me to be loyal to you. I love your outlook on spirituality. I love the pace of your classes and how you hold poses! It really ups the challenge level and gives me time to adjust. Your sense of humor is the BEST! Yoga helped save my life when I was forced into retirement in 2015. I was depressed and suffering from severe anxiety. That's when I discovered yoga with Tim. I tried other teachers but Tim is by far my favorite. His knowledge and professionalism helped me deepen my practice and survive the trauma I was going through. His sense of humor and sincerity have kept me coming back for seven years now. I'm not getting any younger but I plan to continue doing yoga with Tim for as long as I can. Thanks, Tim! You are awesome.

I started doing yoga with Tim in 2015 and was on and off with my practice but few years back I broke my leg while hiking in Yosemite and 6 months after surgery, I practiced regularly and continue to do so. I feel great every day I practice yoga and Tim’s classes on CMC has taken me to a different level. 🙏

Thanks Tim! I'm feeling younger and younger thanks to Yoga (yours and Breathe and Flow). I'm a 48 year old Police Officer/Football official/Softball umpire who needs to be semi athletic. Hi Tim, I am so thankful for your Internet presentation. I follow your classes from Germany since 6 months and I love it. I don't understand all the words but it is no problem for me to follow the exercises. I have a teacher over here once a week, but I searched for someone to instruct me on the other days. Very similar experience! My first yoga experience was a dvd I did at home. I was completely sweaty and felt my whole body had been worked, but I also had a sense of calm. I was energized but relaxed. That balance is what kept me going. It’s so very different than anything else. Can’t wait for the challenge and to see more Olly.

Yes Tim, I was introduced to yoga in my late 40s and a similar moving /enlightened experience moved me to some years later in my 50s to go thru a six month yoga teacher training ! Yoga has taken my life on a journey I would hope for anyone to experience✨

I can relate to your insights during yoga practice. With each occurrence, comes the certainty of being on the right track and the evidence is in the overall sense of well-being - in the mind and in the body. It is what has kept me coming back to the mat. It has been a 12-year journey. There is so much depth to explore, so many poses to master, and always finding the alignment. Everyone new here, you’re going to love Tim! I’ve had lots of cancer-related surgery (am doing well now) and did some yoga and enjoyed it in the past, although I sometimes felt it wasn’t enough of a challenge or like I was just kicking my legs around. Tim’s approach is so educational about the entire body and how it can work, and his practices are very holistic. Since practicing with him I have regained mobility and strength in some areas that I had just written off as no longer really functional due to surgery. I’m doing more than I did pre-treatments! Weight lifting is also great but it’s Tim’s yoga that has brought the entire physical and mental picture together for me. Thanks Tim dude!

Since I started college last 2018 til I got pregnant 2y years ago, until now. I have been only following you and no one else for my workout. It has carried me through different life phases and helped me a lot to be stronger. I have stopped yoga since I got so busy these past few months, but now that I’m back at the challenge again, I feel so excited, and I will definitely finish each challenges every day and feel confident about life again😊

Hello from France dear Tim! I have been practicing with you for 3 years now. I used to do Yoga only to perform complicated postures and kept injuring myself. Yayyy another challenge, cant wait! I remember being in college and feeling anxious and all over the place, and randomly going to a yoga class my senior year. I could just tell right away that it was something I would be doing my entire life. It was difficult for me to even hold down dog, but I just felt so energized and focused after, and have been practicing ever since 🥰 it has given me lots of peace in difficult times and always grounds me.

Thank you Tim. I started practicing yoga a few years ago with your KZbin classes and challenges. It opened up a whole new world for me and for this I thank you. It also brought me to a point where I made the decision last month to enroll in a YTT200 program in order to also serve and share the awesomeness that is yoga. Thank you for the new challenge! I have OCD, and frequent migraines. Sometimes it’s hard for me to get out of bed in the morning, let alone motivate myself to work out. But, I’ve been doing your previous challenges every day, and it’s like you said. I’m always hesitant to move at first, but afterwards I feel so much better. Yoga helps me to clear my thoughts and to be present. Also, your sense of humor makes me laugh and I really need that on tough days. Thank you for all that you do!

I was so happy to see this pop up today! I love doing your challenges, I always learn so much. I started searching for yoga solutions for my chronic back issues I was having. My yoga journey started 10 years ago and I can still vividly remember that 1st class, we share a similar experience. :) I was never a sports-type of a person, but yoga gave me both physical and mental benefits, so I continued and become a teacher myself. Yoga nidra is my biggest love. What I truly love about your approach is that you are a human, you have a great sense of humor and you are really doing a great, great job! Your 2016 month-long challenge was what kickstarted my regular yoga practice. it was my first ever yoga challenge. i started it in 2017, and it truly was the catalyst for everything that happened moving forward. i took more in person classes, got certified in Nepal in April 2018 (i'm from Pakistan), and have had quite the journey with teaching since, going back and forth in my own practice and practicing with different instructors online. i practiced some of your videos again earlier this year, and things started to align once more - in my body and in my life. i soon had a wonderful opportunity to teach again and i'm so happy to be doing so. reflecting on this now, you really are such a big reason all of this happened. thanks tim

I love your classes. I live in the bush in a coastal area with wifi in South Africa. Being a working artist makes me quite highly strung as I have deadlines. I have done 2 other challenges with other instructors and then I found your challenge, you calm me down with your calm demeanor. I sometimes go back a few classes and do it again. Not only did yoga help to calm me but I also lost 15kgs just by eating healthy and doing my yoga and walking. I am a healthy, happy 56year old artist and also have a wonderful dog that is my furry daughter x

THANK YOU! Yeah, I want to start with thanks for past 2 years and the present and the future( for sure ). When I started it was a kinda whim. As time went by, the connection became stronger and stronger and regularity came as a byproduct. I am, currently, 22, practicing once every day and sometimes twice a day with you and now I can totally relate to how important the foundations are. My perspective, energy level and the ability to do harder poses changed bit by bit every other day. In India, we value the term "Darshan" i.e. learning by seeing and I've learned so much by watching the videos more mindfully. For me, you're my Guru! Gratitude! Pranam!

I definitely remember my first yoga class, in a studio in Montreal in 2003. It was like you always say: I felt calm, yet energized… but so much more. I came across you, however, as a guest on someone else’s channel maybe 5 years ago and you’ve been the only teacher for me since. Your cues are precise, your approach to the physical aspect is balanced, and your personality and relationship to the practice is down-to-earth without poo-pooing the philosophy and spiritual, intangible (and inherent) side of yoga. You are especially knowledgeable about the physical side of yoga, so I know I’m in good hands. In short, thanks for all you do.

Thanks once again for all you share with us. I began my yoga practice in 1999. Like you, I feel yoga has given me a new approach to the way I live my life. It’s invigorating and liberating. A big challenge for me is when I have to stop practicing due to surgeries and other medical issues. That is when I spend more time meditating, but I don’t derive the same physical satisfaction from that. It’s an opportunity to let go, I suppose, but letting go of the daily yoga practice is not easy. Looking forward to squeezing in the latest challenge before my second open heart surgery. Yeesh! All will be well….❤️

Namaste! Yoga is life changer! At the end of each class we experience a profound well being and peace and that extends troughout the day. We became calmer in our life situations and put things in pperspective a lot more. I'm not enlightened - far from it! - but i'm on the path and i can say Yoga changed my body and changed my life. That's my experience, anyway. Also, very recently i persuaded my mother which is in her seventies and has a lot of back issues, to start yoga and she´s already having benefits! Yoga really is for everyone!

Hello Tim! I want to say thank you to you, because you videos and challenges made it much easier to live through pandemic times! With you I started practicing yoga every day and it’s been 2 years already. Moreover, I also had this realization that I want to share this with other people and show them how beneficial yoga is for one’s body, soul and mind. I took a yoga teach course and started teaching this year! I will always be grateful to you for that journey I started! And will be joining a new challenge for sure :)

All signed up - you're a fantastic teacher. And your story is not weird to me at all: it's completely sensible and relatable. I had that "light bulb" moment the first time I took an Iyengar yoga class. I had tried different yoga classes maybe a dozen times over a few years before that one and it never "clicked" with me until that class. The combination of pace, instructions, and focus on alignment of body, mind, and breath suddenly felt correct. I used to say that's when yoga found me, but a friend pointed out that my perspective disempowered me and gave all the power (mystically) to yoga. So instead I think of that as the moment when I was ready and able to discover yoga. And now practicing with you (for just a few years now) continues to be a great way to enrich and enlarge my intelligence and awareness, so I'm happy to challenge myself again with your teaching. I'm so looking forward to the challenge. I missed the January challenge recovering from open heart surgery and a week ago today I lost my father-in-law who helped through my surgery and recovery as he had the same valve replacement 10 years earlier. This challenge will be a way to heal my body and move through my grief. You truly are a gift to me (and so many others) and I look forward to the day I can thank you in person at one of your workshops. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi😀Tim. You are my husband's and I favourite yogui teacher on KZbin. I have similar experiences of sort enlightenment when I do yoga, and after a class it's the only way I can meditate. Unfortunately, after yoga class and back into daily life again, stress comes back. But even so, I feel different from some other people,like everybody is rushing everywhere and I like to enjoy the path....

At age 23 I came down with bad chronic joint pain. The pain in my back/sciatica was becoming so bad that I was calling out of work. The alternating pains in each of my knees was so bad that I was limping and eventually had to wear a stint on my leg. I didn't know what was happening and a lot of my coworkers (and doctors) thought I was either exaggerating or faking it for attention. I had all kinds of x-rays and tests done and nothing revealed anything. I ended up finding a naturopathic doctor who helped so much. The closest conclusion I have come to is that my chronic condition is a result of stress and emotional trauma, bad genetics, and 17 years of dancing with a bad gauge (how my frame is built). I had to give up dancing which was my passion, my creative outlet, and the only way I felt seen. About a year later I started seeing my long term partner and he introduced me to Tim Senesi. At first I told him that I hated yoga and that it was too boring and that the breathing stressed me out. But he convinced me to do a session with him out in his yard and eventually we started doing it regularly together. I realized that yoga felt boring to me because I was used to pushing myself past my limits. I learned how to let that go and just be okay with where my body's at. I'm 28 now and practicing yoga regularly is a non debatable. It allows me to feel in tune with my body and beautiful like dance did, without the same impact on my joints. I'm not perfect and I might not be able to do everything I want in my practice, but I'm constantly working on that balance between pushing myself to get on the mat and honoring what my body needs. Thank you Tim for all of the in depth instruction and positive encouragement, plus cheesy jokes. 🙂

And one more observation. I do some your 30-40 minutes challenges every day since 2019. I am sure it has raised my health state to the highest level since decades. But I have noticed that my stretching had some progress at first, but then it has stopped improving. I am still far from touchincg the floor with a straight back and legs. It's hard for me to sit upright. In triangle I feel almost pain in my groin near the right leg and it doesn't get better. I will be very happy, if you could recommend something in my situation. Thank you! I am stick with you.

Try turning your hips slightly toward your right leg in triangle, about 15 -20 degrees, and make sure your back foot is angled in the same amount. You won't get any further in your practice until you start the CMC (Conscious Movement Community) 'What's Next' course. I recommend people take a couple of challenges here and then immediately start the course if they are serious about advancing. I once broke a rib while doing yoga, profound pain but not such a profound experience 😅 I break my ribs all the time so it’s not yoga’s fault. I actually broke it while taking a break during class, I rested my chest on my lap and crack so lesson learned, never rest in yoga class, jk, I do rest now when my body needs it! So excited for this challenge! Thank you Tim!!

Oh dang, that's kinda gnarly. Have you gotten checked out by a doctor? I don't think ribs should break that easily. Might wanna get some blood tests etc...

@@yogawithtim yes it s not normal I have terrible osteoporosis and currently have three broken ribs (10th, 11th and 12th) on the right side. I’m getting a CT scan on Monday to make sure no bones are floating around 😅 I m still practicing yoga 🤦🏼‍♀️ but trying to be very gentle and careful 😁 I don’t wanna miss you challenge! 😊

Really looking forward to this challenge - perfect length to fit in the morning. You are a great teacher, thank you for doing this. You asked about sharing a profound moment: as I got stronger in my balances, I started making the connection between that strength and balance in life in general. I was surprised how strong a good balance pose made me physically and mentally. And your comment about the importance of days off speaks to this, balancing effort with rest. It feels like, if you have a balanced outlook and approach to life, it's a revelation. There you go, my DEEP thought! Glad to see Ollie, and I chuckled when you almost when into the ShamWow Guy offer (and for a low price of $9.95!) Your humour is another reason why I keep coming back to your videos. Thanks Tim! :-)
