I was looking at a car the other day. They actually emailed me a deal of 20% off msrp when I got to the F&I office. They wanted to add $6000 in junk. Transportation Fees, Dealer Fee, Vehicle Prep Fee and Paint Protection. I took a pen and put a big X through all of that. Told them that none of this nonsense was in your email. They refused to remove any of it. Walked out and left them a bad review everywhere. They called me back a few days later, offering to "make it right." Whatever that means, I never returned their phone calls. This is why people hate car salespeople with a passion. Tommy tries to make it fun, but salespeople suck ass.

@6413Teddy4 ай бұрын
Just pay MSRP and you will have a good experience, it’s not always the sales person, it’s mainly the customers who have unrealistic expectations of what a car should be sold for. If you don’t like the price, buy a cheaper vehicle. Customers lie more than sales people. Now the finance office is there to offer products, you do not have to take them, just say no. If they insist on pushing a product and refuse to remove it from the deal, just walk out. BTW that “junk” you’re referring to has saved me massive amounts of money for repairs.

My wife arrived at the dealership with a cashiers check in her hand to sign documents and take delivery of her 24’ 4Runner TRD ORP last month. When in the F&I office the FI manager attempted to get her to blow up her own deal by agreeing to renegotiate the already agreed upon deal (came with a cashiers check for the amount) to add 8000 dollars of add ons and extended warranty. She literally stood up grabbed the check and asked them if the deal was the deal and if they wanted the check or not …. She was done signing papers in 20 mins.

I'm a car salesman. I don't play the usual game because let's be honest, 80% of customers who walk through the door know what the expectations are for a car deal, and they know they might experience what we're watching on screen here. So I'm honest and transparent. We can work on price. Negotiating is the reason I'm paid to sit at my desk in front of you. You tell me what where you want to be on price or payments, and I'll take that back to my managers and do my best to advocate for you. Realistically, we're probably not rolling this car out at sticker MSRP. I don't control that and it's the way the car business is unfortunately. Like health insurance, it's simply the standard. But you also want and need a car, and there isn't a dealership out there that'll do otherwise. So you may as well work with a salesperson that's willing to be honest. I genuinely try to make all of my customers feel welcome and without pressure, as we're only going to do this if it makes sense to you, and if it doesn't, we just don't do it!
@gunnardotson58225 ай бұрын
