There's an even shorter dispute in my country, Costa Rica:) This guy William Walker, from the U.S, wanted to colonize Central America, and was succesful up in Nicaragua. He wanted to keep going down to Costa Rica, but a militar campain had already begun, and more than 1200 armed civilians were ready to fight for their freedom. They walked for days, as that was the only way of moving they had, and the clash finally took place when they met Walker's army in the city of Rivas, in Nicaragua. When the US soldiers found themselves in a difficult position, they made a choice and decided to hide inside a house called "Mesón de Guerra". The Costa Rican soldiers couldn't get them out so they decided that burning the place down was the solution. It took many unsuccesful tries until Juan Santamaría made it, and the resting US soldiers ran away. All of this lasted only EIGHTEEN MINUTES!! The guy who burnt the "Mesón" is considered a national hero, and the airport is named after him. The day of the battle is now a national holiday, and its really important to our country because of the message of national unity and freedom it has. Hope you find the story interesting:)

A 700 year war, like imagine your born into a wartime and die of old age, also in wartime, telling your children about how evil the other guys are. Reminds me of that Doctor Who episode with the hath and humans at war for only a couple of weeks, but with each side cloning themselves, it feels like its been whole lifetimes and they're just at war, not even knowing why they're at war, its just always been that way.

I learned about a small civil war in Costa Rica that lasted I think about, 10-15 mins and it was to decide if Costa Rica was going to join the Mexican empire after their independence in sept 15 1848, the people who wanted to join the Mex empire, were scared and ran off as soon as the first cannon fired.
