Good stuff, Tony. As a fly fisher trying to start carrying a spin with me as well this is the first video of like 5 I’ve seen that’s actually addressing this info.

I do a lot of jetty fishing. Am I better off with straight mono/floro line??? Thanks Luv the vlogs!!

Something that could make a huge difference when choosing mono or floro is the fatigue failure of each. Mono has a very linear stretch before failure. Floro will stretch some but about 50% less than mono before failing. They may fail at about the amount of stress or weight, but mono is much more forgiving when being stretched over and over again. It isn't about the one time stretch from catching a fish. It's about the stretch and plasticity and being able to withstand multiple cycles of such. The lighter leader and/or larger fish you catch, the higher failure rate of floro you will see

Ever add a leader to the main leader ? Such as for Carolina rigs ?

I frequently use some extra monofilament line that I had leftover from spooling another reel with mono for leader line on a braided reel. I Have had no problems. Any comment on this practice?

Both have resin coat. So they can act like a saws buffer between 2 main line leader or micro swivels or standard give Max strength to both party's.

@@Saltstrong see the pike lures ie big glide baits and soft plastic lures over 18 ins and ally lures we will need tig skill up to date and bigger tackle boxes lol lucky ya do not have Nile perch in ya dams. Lol ya would need a better knot system and leader's as well lol 😂.

Copolymer is an overlooked option I like it's in between mono and flouro less stretch than mono slower sink rate than flouro also thinner diameter than both and much more supple than flouro(stiffness of large diam flouro tough to tie knots)

SilverThread CoPoly was consistently incredible. Sad it got discontinued. Suffix has been decent, but not a replacement. good comment!

Been pleased with pline, original is thin and easy to work with, xstrong abrasion resistant and topwater has also worked well

Here is something I don't think SS has covered: Is there any difference between Ande monofilament (as sold in larger spools for main lines) and the Ande monofilament "Leader Material"? (and the same for Floro)

We'll add that to the list!

Suffix zippy... Excellent product. Tie it on with a PR or FG knot.
