International numbers are falling off rapidly, and were pretty bad to begin with. It's still pulling in $80 million this weekend from the US and Canada (almost entirely from middle-age women = Kamala voters), but it hasn't even passed $100 million in TOTAL from all international markets. It has drawn in about $300 million thus far in total gross, and is going to start dropping off rapidly starting next weekend. If international markets don't pick up, the film will struggle to reach $600 million for a final gross. Astoundingly, "Red One" only fell 2% this weekend from last weekend, adding another $12 million. It still won't make a profit, but it's a sign that some people are so bored with everything else in the theater, they'll pay to watch pure seasonal schlock repeatedly. "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" is more evidence of this, falling a mere 4% and adding another $3.2 million this weekend. It's NOT schlock, but it's not the sort of film that has tended to do well in recent years, being far more traditional Christmas comedy with religious overtones. It's already profitable, having grossed $32 million against a tiny $10 million budget.

I've been dying to see this movie since before it was greenlit. I became a big Wicked fan in 2010, my senior year of high school. I was excited when the film was officially announced, had some mixed feelings when they announced the cast, and then was so disappointed in Ariana and Ethan when news of their affair broke and Ariana put out the song "Yes, And...?" It put a dampener on the whole thing. But then Cynthia... geez, if the homewrecker wasn't bad enough, we've got a pick-me girl so insufferable she makes Rachel Zegler look humble. I decided this film won't see one cent from me, and I found a pirated copy online to stream. The pacing was lousy because they stretched a 1.5 hr Act to fill a 2.5 hr film, yet STILL cut some of my favorite jokes. Everything they interjected to stretch out Defying Gravity made it hard for me to enjoy it because I know how the song is supposed to go on the soundtrack and I know how the scene is supposed to play out onstage. Everything they added just felt like a jerk pausing my favorite song. Other than some crying (of course), Cynthia's performance was dead. It was like she didn't understand that some of her lines were actually funny and therefore put no effort into comedic timing. In "What is This Feeling," she keeps a poker face nearly the whole time. You'd never be able to tell Elphaba was irritated with Galinda. There were a lot of instances where I wouldn't have been able to tell what was going on in Elphaba's head if it weren't for all the good actresses that have played her before, and she certainly didn't make me feel anything but irritation. The choreography and cinematography were amazing, and as a Wicked fan it was definitely worth seeing once. But it wasn't worth paying for, and these actresses, especially Cynthia, ruined it. I couldn't see Elphaba. I could only see Cynthia. Hundreds of women have played the role and played it well, and any of the more recent ones could have been cast, but they chose this woke bully with an ox ring in her nose.

Defying Gravity will never be "Somewhere under the Rainbow". Not even in the same league.

They threw hundreds of millions towards marketing and told the stars to overreact to everything to try and distract from the crisis of the fan made movie poster and the immorality of two of the stars having extra marital affairs and divorcing their spouses.

I just wished that the producers would've made the Wicked movie with Idena & Kristin right after they left the Broadway show!!!

Personally I was actually interested in seeing this movie when I saw the trailer but between the controversy and these press interviews I have been completely put off.

I don’t care to watch the movie. It would be in the best interest of the movie if they do not continue interviews. It’s nauseating to see them cry and be over emotional. It’s not that deep.

Underperforming? Is that why the new commercials feature Jeff Goldblum?

They’re making wicked into something that they believe is gay, which is absolutely ridiculous. They’re destroying the true nature of Wizard of Oz.

It could be worse, Ariana could be saying “she hates America”, which she did, several years ago

I don't necessarily blame these two for acting this way. Have you seen the Entertainment Weekly interview that came out a week and a half ago? Some of these interviews have treated them like they are gods and have said things that have really gone to these girls heads

Saw (and enjoyed) the stage show. Don't need to see a Hollywood bastardized Part 1 & 2 cliffhanging money grab.
