He even authorises what she can and cannot do with her money and him saying ‚oh that’s too much on food’ as well kind of angered me when Caleb always goes for basics and with health in mind

I know from my own personal experience, I had to downsize my really nice car when I got married because the monthly payment was going to break the bank since I got married and then we had a kid right away. So there was something huge missed here. Miss private school art teacher is severely underpaid and it doesn’t matter that this is just her 2nd year as a teacher. The *starting* salary for Maryland teachers in Baltimore county public schools is $51,751 and it’s like 1500 more to start out with a masters but instead of maxing out at step 10 it goes all the way up to step 30. I’m sure public schools might be harder to get into and probably require certification, but she should get on that! To substantially boost her income! Oh btw if you are certified then it just goes up from there. Also these numbers I found are from the 2021 school year! I know salaries are a decent bit higher then that in other states so maybe it’s even more in Maryland now too

The husband needs to chill. That's your wife. Your life partner. The relationship is that of a parent and a trouble child who gets her cellphone taken away as a punishment. Not letting your wife spend her own money and having to APPROVE it is very alarming. Most cringe moments: She: "I don't spend anything unless he approves it" Later... Her: "You lay it out so simple and I'm wondering if WE can actually follow it" (emphasis on "we") Him (arrogantly): "Oh, I'LL follow it" (emphasis on "I'LL" This does not seem to be an equal marriage where both parties make decisions together. This is a marriage governed by a dictator. Ladies, if you're in a relationship where your significant other needs to approve your expenses, take a deep look at the relationship because that's not normal, healthy, or fair.

To clarify his business involvement… he does not have equity, nor ownership of this private business, he ONLY owns the debt. Meaning he’s not entitled to any of the profits or success of the business, he can only be paid the fixed amount of the debt plus any interest. This is NOT an investment. This is a banking transaction. And a ridiculously silly one at that. He has no idea what the financial operations or overall health of the business is, yet he went and bought the debt. This is far too much risk for far too little financial gain. You’re not a bank and this is not a proper retirement strategy.

@@killamb Right, it should be one simple sentence. "I'm a teacher at a private school and I make $/yr". "I'm a work aid for autistic clients and I make $/hr". Instead with this guy its "I do this thing that has no name and well the job pays me but only because of the government, but lets not talk about me because my wife has sooo much debt and oh yeah its okay because i have this business thing but i wont actually tell you the details but trust me guy"

@@willytodd2750yeah I mostly agree with this. I don’t think she should have to ask for permission to buy anything as she is generating an income. But ignoring the financial situation she brought into the household is foolish. Like if we reversed the genders here and it was some economically frugal woman marrying a man who got himself into $30k of personal loan debt in order to gamble it on Bitcoin, would anyone call her controlling if she was kept a tight hold of the household finances?
