I get choosing Iowa for the USBB line, particularly nowadays. But back in my age, it was the North Carolina, hands down, no question. The Iowa was nice. But after the torture that was Colorado, the North Carolina felt like the most powerful ship in the game without question.

@@WolfRawrrr Oh not for me. I loved New Mexico compared to Colorado. Her speed isn't such a handicap at tier 6 like Colorado's is and 12 guns is worth giving up 16 inch guns for 14 inch guns again especially at tier 6. New Mexico is in fact my favorite tier 6 battleship in what is one of the most enjoyable tiers in the game for me. Colorado on the other hand is just dog meat compared to the other tier 7 ships. Sure she is fairly tough and has 16 inch guns but she is a an absolute slug compared to the now much faster competition. And she doesn't have any kind of a gimmick to save her like say how Gneisenau has torps and secondaries to make up for her garbage main guns, or KGV has incredible fire starting capabilities to make up for her garbage armor. If you want 16 inch guns then find a way to get Nelson instead at this tier, if you want great armor than use Gneisenau instead at this tier. I kept my New Mexico when I moved on up the line but I couldn't ditch my Colorado fast enough when I finally unlocked and bought North Carolina.

My two favorite BB's are Scharnorst, because while the guns arent strong, you are murder against cruisers, turn like a cruiser and can with angling, deflect point blank 16 inch guns! It's fast, tough, and so very much fun to play. The other is Montana. So many people hate it, but the accuracy is good, the range is solid, it has solid armour, it's a work horse BB who can one shot many ships who make a mistake and show broadside thanks to it's excellent shot grouping.

I love the Amagi. I really consider it a better Kongo. An extra turret, 16" guns, and the armor belt that extends to the rear of the ship makes it a tough nut when angled away/kiting.

It might have been more armored than the Yamato due to Japanese lackluster metallurgy and British Harvey steel being about 15-25% more efficient depending on the source, but we will never know that is true since the Japanese got rid of the documents for the Yamato so we don't know how efficient the steel would be, but IMO I think its safe to assume that the Japanese would use the same steel on the Yamato as other IJN BBs making the KGV the most armored battleship.

Werent the quadruple guns of the KGV class utter trash (for example HMS Prince of Whales) had also heard that they didnt withstand water very well - I mean a ship, whose guns do not withstand water well... I don‘t know much about her armor though In Wows I absolutely hate her as she has a kinda similar playstyle to Lyon but is worse in every regard expect the healing capacity... What I would consider the gem of this rech tree though would be the Queen Elizabeth. Absolutely hated her in the beginning but after i skilled Expert Marksman on her the turret traverse was playable. Even want to get the Warspite mow after playing QE

@@spiderwolf7525 no, Bismarck's weight certainly was not. Her armour was objectively worse than that of the KGVs both in th8ckness and quality. If her armour weighed more it was solely because it had to cover a larger ship. Considering the details of Bismarck and her contemporaries are readily and easily available to literally everyone i have to wonder where you got such rubbish from. Bismarck's displacement was approximately 37% armour, covering a larger ship than the KGVs which had comparable absolute armour mass whilst displacing 10000 tons less. What the KGVs got out of this was considerably thicker deck armour, considerably thicker uniform belt, and comparable turret facing, whilst sacrificing gun size and a mote of speed. Bismarck suffered from the exact problem that Hood did. Because she was huge and needed to be fast her armour had to be thinner to cover everything her designers thought needed covering. This left her with an inefficient design that protected magazines excellently but left boilers, fuel stores, electronics, and superstructure extremely vulnerable, as was bore out historically.

If it's about which ones stood out in the line rather than just being tier 10, I'll share mine (though I may still use tier 10's if appropriate) US: NC and Monty. NC was a breath of fresh air after the dreadnoughts and I outright put in chat "holy s***! this thing can actually move!" getting that speed is an amazing burden gone. you get the 9 406's and the super heavy shells, so you now have damage output after colorado. Monty's still my favourite in the US bb line. that thing's my ol' reliable. I always find a way to put up good numbers with it and still holds my personal ranked damage record. IJN: Izumo. As much as I love yammy, this ship was the one where the japanese line became fun for me. though I am saying this getting izumo long after it was buffed, I think a lot of people still underestimate it because of how bad it was at the beginning. I got my first kraken in my first battle with izumo - yes, A hull iz, and I was blown away at how much it could tank KM: toss up between Bismark and GK. My first tier 8 and 10. Big Bis was a relief after Gneisenau's 6 guns and it's the one where the German secondaries get their range, becoming the brawling bb's, but GK is still my fave in the line because of the 32mm pen on the secondaries and the 12 guns and the thick belt French: Bretagne. I hated Turriene and Courbet. Their guns were so inaccurate it nearly spoiled playing the line for me and I gave up on the French bbs for a bit. boy did I regret that when I came back to it because Bretagne's guns were tight. It went from hitting nothing at 5km range to multiple citadel salvos from far off. It was such a pleasure to play it. I love my repub, but I'll never forget bretagne Russian: Vladivostok. I just have many good memories with this ship and is the one that I stayed with the longest. It just worked for me. As brutally balans as krem is, vlad's my go to. soyuz was just too squishy. RM: Lion. I haven't gotten to conqueror yet, though this vid is inspiring. but lion is the first British bb I actually like playing. I hated iron duke, QE was just too slow and prone to being spammed, kgv's small guns are more of a drawback than you think, monarch will always be monarch, sporting the same guns the line had at tier 6 intending to go up against tier 10s.

I agree with most of what you say, with the exception of the Conqueror. The conqueror pre citadel nerf was a great ship to push in with. Even though it had relatively weak armor and a low HP, it could get in and fight without being summarily deleted. It was hard to citadel up close. It was vulnerable to plunging fire at range. Now it is much more suited to staying far away and spamming HE. It is still vulnerable to plunging fire, but its raised citadel makes it worthless up close. It can be citadeled by BBs and CAs with impunity.

None of it is relative from original pc platform to console / mobile. Kind of makes sense, really. Now they just need to make a part 2, that goes out to all platforms at once, and doesn't monetize it literally every single way any game has ever monetized all in one game that you have to buy to play in the first place then pay a sub, ect ect.

Good list!! For myself I would add the Tier 7 Scharnhorst as well. I don't have this ship. But it seems like I'm always getting my ass handed to me by one lol. Not to mention always seems to be a thorn in our team's side when one shows up. From what I can see is one of the most well balanced ships in the game.

Watching this in July 2020, but aahhh, the Mighty Bismarck. Ever since they introduced the German line, she is, even today my favorite BB in the game. The brawling potential on this thing is just amazing. Played well, she can easily hold her own in a T10 line up. Only yesterday I sank two Musashis brawling them. If you do not own her get her and have the time of your life, assuming you use her like she is meant to.

for the British line, it's an EASY pick: Queen Elizabeth. She doesn't play much like the later british BBs, but you've got 15" guns at tier 6 with devastating alpha and way better accuracy than bayern, Good Enough armor, best-in-class AA, and tight maneuverability.

Jean Bart, Massachusetts, Bismarck, Gneisenau, Sinop, Petoyr Velikiy, and Orion because of great AA at tier 4 and HE to deal with all those destroyers at tier 4. Great commentary. Would be fun to look at the crazy Hosho meta tier 4 games. Been thinking about what good ships to have to deal with the cvs were seeing all the time in tier 4. Cvs they just wreck everything. Been playing the Shenyang pan am DD you get 6 smokes to hide from planes. I think Orion is best AA for the cvs. Tier 5 ships don't count as they see higher MM. Tier 4 right now is just so crazy and fun lol. Clemsons are having a hard time there. My Shenyang surviving very well though

I'd say Fuso for the IJN line: - 12 guns with 28s reload. Yes, they don't overmatch T6+ BBs, but it's still a lot of lead (steel?) you're throwing at the enemy; - absurd range (and absurd spotting range, but at T6 there are usually CVs and you'll be spotted anyway); - a very nice reinforced deck: 35mm, enough to shatter the HE of light cruisers up to tier 7, even if they take IFHE, not to mention heavy cruisers, which generally don't take it; - a 152mm upper belt, which bounces a lot of shells - unlike the Kongo, her extremities can't be overmatched by many of her T6 peers: New Mexico, Dunkerque, Izmail, other Fusos... As long as you angle right, she's a beast, much tougher than the Nagato.

I really loved the New Mexico for the Americans. I have no idea if anyone else had that feeling, but for me I stayed above a 75% WR and pulled high damage numbers the whole time, It just felt super powerful to play.

Might have to revisit the FDG. The buffs it got have really helped it so far in my experience. I only have her stock but she has been constantly surpassing my Bismarck damage records game after game. roughly about 120-145k in a half decent game. And even with the 406mm they can still hurt and will pen the bow of a lot of cruisers at the tier unlike Bismarck with say the Baltimore. Hopefully Gk will be at least half the fun of FDG. I had a similar experience with Izumo where there was a stigma against it so I dreaded playing it until I found out that it was already buffed back in spring 2019. So far FDG is rather nice and has had similar dispersion to Soyuz, which I also really liked even over Kremlin. As for Soyuz, Sinop is just too good at her tier to be dethroned. I even regrinded the line just for Soyuz and broke my own damage record in Sinop with 215k damage. As for my own experience with the other lines Kongo and Amagi were highlights of the IJN BBs and NC was by far the highlight of the USN BBs. I'm only on Lyon and KGV for the RN and MN BB lines though so I can't speak on those.

In the Japanese tree it is the Nagato for me, with full secondary build (7.6km range). At the same tier and against lower tier cruiser those 140mm pack a punch. Good HE alpha damage and good chance of causing fires. While you have to be cautious in random matches, not to be too aggressive and getting focused early on, in T7 ranked this build can do a lot. In the German tree I shift between Bismarck and Gneisenau. As long as you can manage to get into 8km range, the Gneisenau B-hull secondaries outgun the Bismarck ones, cause they are all 128mm. Before the CV/AA rework Gneisenau had even better AA than Bismarck, due to those 128mm dual purpose guns.

It takes a lot of work to get the most out of her though. Great AA and decent speed but you have to set her up so that she doesn't get flanked because you will NEVER get your turrets around fast enough to hit your target if you do.

I'm currently grinding up RN line and I'm on Lion now (and VERY close to Conqkek) and I must say Lion is by far my favourite on the line so far. That heal is borderline OP and I love the 419mm guns for both their HE and AP performance. And to think that Conqueror has basically the same setup plus an additional turret? Yeah I'm looking forwards to that! I absolutely hated Monarch though but loved KGV. When did they do the KGV nerf though? I don't remember it happening while I was playing it so I'm curious if it happened before/after I finished it.

The IOWA with Hull C will feel like God mode...But remember DO NOT BRAWL IN IT - EVER. It is a fast flanker stealth BB. It plays quite different to the NC because the IOWA speed is almost outrageous. She is a Grade A Kite machine, I hold or delay flanks on my own and she is a beast at this and is fast enough to get out of the way if the enemy steam-roller or exploit super quick if the enemy folds.

I have to say that I loved Fuso in the IJN line, and even Amagi wasn't half bad, although for my crowns on that line would have to go to Musashi and Yamato, of course. Other than that, I'd say: Germany: Kurfurst is always lovely, but Tirpitz and Scharnhorst are better experiences, and Bismarck is definitely great as a tech tree crown. US: I would actually say Montana takes my top spot there, although North Carolina wouldn't be far behind...as long as we're not comparing to Missouri. Soviet: Vladivostok. I haven't unlocked the Kremlin as of yet, but she's OP as I think most of us know, so Vladi for me. I haven't run all the way through the rest of the BB lines yet, but otherwise, not too different in overall opinion. Well said, well thought out.

My picks (silver) USN: North Carolina, best overall accuracy outside of Yammie, can actually do some island hugging with the floaty shells, great armor scheme as long as you're not full broadside. IJN: The 10 star hotel. KM: Bismarck for the same reasoning as Mountbatten. RN: LOLrion, the nerf barely touched her, has the best AA of any T4 BB which is important in this meta MN: Normandie, insanely maneuverable and resistant to HE spam VMF: SinOP (although Vlad is neck and neck) (not silver) USN: Mass-B, shiny secondary death machine IJN: Mushy / Kii (for something that is still available) KM: Shinyhorse, does everything RN: Hood, best T7 kite flyer MN: Jean Bart, turns into a cruiser with 15" guns every few minutes VMF: Rasputin (Nikolai) / NA (don't care about Oct Rev and don't have Lenin)

If we go off of what it seemed like this video was going to be (i.e. just tech tree ships below the t10, and I’ll just limit it to ships I’ve actually played): USN BBs: NC easily. Not only is she the first time you play a USN BB and feel like you can actually get into a battle before it ends, those guns are extremely accurate and hit hard. She’s still my most played ship, and even though I don’t necessarily have the best stats in her since I mostly played her a while back, I had absolutely no problems going up against pretty much any t9 or 10 battleship and stomping all over their face. And of course before the stealth and CV reworks, she was one of the textbook definitions of a no-fly zone in game, and also one of the stealthiest battleships. USN cruisers: Buffalo for the CAs, Helena for the CLs. Buffalo is just a better Baltimore (which I loved) with a heal, the one main thing I wish I had in Balti when facing t10s, and even tankier and harder hitting on pretty much any target. Pensacola at t7 would probably be a close second (loved that ship too), but after playing the pre split version, the new Pensacola just feels a little lackluster. And Helena just spits out shells at everything she wants to and watches the world burn. USN DDs: Clemson. Even as a non-DD player, that little boat is still one of my absolute favorite destroyers in the game, and when played well she has absolutely no problem taking the fight to any destroyer she can face. The torps aren’t anything special, but those guns are just so much fun. Russian cruisers would probably have to be Shchors, partly because of how well I tended to do in it, and the fact that I know I made many battleship drivers rage while I barbecued them and they couldn’t manage to blap me in return. Bismarck is all well and good for completing secondary hits missions or spamming in co-op, but I actually felt Bayern was one of the most consistent in the line for me, and one of the more reliable and tanky German BBs I played in randoms. For the French cruisers at mid tiers, of course who else could it be besides Emile Bertin. Even post nerf, she’s just so much fun to speed boat around the map and pepper whatever enemy ship you choose, and because it’s mid tiers the chances of you getting hit in return from battleships is normally pretty low. Honestly the one that I think is going to be the most divisive is my UK cruiser preference - Emerald was actually quite a blast to play despite what everyone seems to say, and I never had any significant problems dealing with any non-unicum enemies without at least making them suffer and definitely work for the kill (which many times they probably didn’t even get anyway, to their annoyance).

I chose to play North Carolina before I choose Alabama, Massachusetts, Iowa, Missouri or Montana (and I do have the Leg Mod) over and over again. The best T7 BB in the game is Sinop. All tiers, the most fun and comfortable BB in the game to play, IMO, is Bourgogne.

Kongo is a beast- my stats in it suck since it's my favourite ship so I got it before I could play, but still a beast. Bismarck is epic, I'm on FDG now but may buy Bismarck back once I have some spare credits. Got Iowa a few days ago and it's great so far (not just cos after 9 games I've got 2.6k PR in it :D). I hated my Nagato. I put a 10 point captain on her with a survivability build and it gives me 140+ K damage games over and over. Its fantastic even against tier 9's

I like the Kongo, but her guns are too unpredictable for my tastes and the reload is pretty long due to the big guns. Overall I much prefer the Nagato, which is so wonderfully accurate and hard hitting at tier VII. For the German my choice would be the Konig, which is soooooo satisfying to play at tier V: amazingly accurate guns, wonderfully tough armour, excellent AA which helps against those pesky 2 CV per side you always get, fantastic suit of secondaries which can be boosted to decent levels with the appropriate captain skills, and yet is't fast, it's small, and it's manoeuvrable: overall I prefer it to Giulio Cesare because it is much tougher, not much slower, more accurate and has way better secondaries. the only downside are turret rotation, but it can be dealt with. For the British I still like the Queen Elizabeth. I don't have high enough tier BB in the american and russian line to give an opinion...

Gneisenau is tier for tier better. Same guns, just one turret less. If you cannot hit stuff with Gneisenau, then how with Bismarck? Also, that Conqueror assessment... IJN = Amagi US = NC Soviet = Vladivostok (I hated the Sinop) German = Bismarck probably but requires a good captain RN = KGV, althou I havent played it since the citadel change. I strangely also really enjoyed Monarch French = Alsace probably, but I only figured it out in my last few games with it before getting Repu

I’m sorry but I’ll take NC over Iowa anytime . Iowa is way to powercrept. NC guns are way more accurate and since they plunge fire more they do more cut damage . But that’s my 2 cents on American bbs. MO is the exception. 100% with you on Bismarck . GNE can’t hit the side of a barn . Funny how it’s secondaries hit all but only 8 km range . I’ll take over tirp for hydro and fighter . Kongo was amazing but the JC now crushes it. It is still second best t5. 100% on conq also. Death delivered by fire. I do love Nelson ;) but not above conq. Frenchies ... yuck for Alsace after sigma nerf. Secondaries are so small! Richelieu did not get sigma nerf. But the 12 guns might make up for sigma. It is a dad killing terror with small guns ;) and the 8 gun t10 sucks. With you also on sinop! It’s so OP on tier! At top tier it’s a bruiser . And secondaries are great for no investment.

I found the Iowa to be the point of diminished returns. I hated playing the Iowa. Much prefer the North Carolina, because the guns are more accurate than Iowa's. So, I had the exact opposite experience to yours. I have a 19 pt captain on my Bismarck and a full secondary build. It's ridiculous.

KGV is pretty accurate tbh, but as mentioned above... you’re fucked when getting close. Literally 30% chance of getting citadel for most of the shot Btw, Monarch is so bad on my opinion... I’m quite surprised you consider it as a good RN bb (poor heal, less firing chance compare to KGV, low hp pool, typical RN citadel, and German dispersion)

Personally hated the sinop. Her accuracy at close range didn’t seem to work for me. Always random dispersion missing by a dozen or more meters easily. Vladivostok has been far, far more enjoyable imo.

Still say report to WG and have them suspend the account. It is in their best interest to prevent underage kids from playing. It is in their best interest to suspend players that cause problems for others and make exaggerated accusations. I really like the whole Japanese line, Gneisenau and Bismarck are awesome, NC-Montana are all fun too. British line is just garbage to me.
