Born '75, and I was in an adolescent psych ward after a failed suicide attempt when this aired. (Things are better now, thanks to all the things they taught me there.) EVERYONE in the ward watched this on a single tv. Patients. Staff. It didn't matter. Andre vs. Hogan was just that huge. It's the only time I've ever seen anything like it. So that estimated viewing audience of 30 million? There's no way they're counting all the people who wouldn't normally be gathered around a tv together. For once, the WWE is probably undercounting the number of fans they once had, hanging on every move.

It's not like a Twinkie tastes good anyways. Unfortunately the folks in my city weren't big wrestling fans so not very many people knew about it when I got back to school that Monday..... it must have been a Pacific Northwest thing I guess. Another silly thing I remember is The Main Event is where the IC Championship Belt without the red WWF logo debuted, and this is where the Winged Eagle World Championship belt debuted. Also, it looked like they changed the Tag belts because I remember the old Tag Belts were a blend of Gold and Silver and the Tag Belts were mostly Gold.

Man your channel is so fun! SNME was such an awesome show, I remember getting to stay up late to watch SNME, getting into the theme music and intros, while being so excited to see two name wrestlers, wrestle and not jobbers. The Hogan and Giant rematch was awesome and to see the rating for the show it’s crazy to compare that to the ratings today and how Raw and AEW can’t compete. Plus who doesn’t love the winged eagle belt! Your channel definitely brings back great nostalgia. Myself I felt my strong interest in wrestling ended after Wrestlemania 19. I felt that was sort of the last era of 80s/90s wrestlers I followed and after that all wrestlers just didn’t strike a cord with me. Although I watch the occasional reunion show, it’s not the same as are larger than life heroes grow older and older each year. Your channel allows the opportunity to revisit these matches and history and that my friend is a great feeling.

I have the greatest memories of this show because this aired on my 10th birthday and at this point I was a huge wrestling fan of both WWF and the NWA!😁
